Rosemary Benefits Gut Biome

Singer Rosemary Clooney's first big hit was “Come On-A My House,” in 1951. It sold over a million copies. She also appeared in the movie “White Christmas” (1954) opposite Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye, and had five children with Jose Ferrer.

But these days, she's best remembered as George Clooney's aunt.

Back in the 1950s, Rosemary was a smash hit. We bet today she'd be happy to know that her namesake herb is taking center stage, as studies show it can help people achieve and maintain a healthy gut biome.

One study of the essential oil in rosemary found that it can improve probiotic levels by decreasing E. coli and fungi that cause gas, bloating, irregular bowel movements, and even fatigue. That also helps alleviate heartburn and indigestion caused by overgrowth of bad bacteria in the gut.

Rosemary is also approved for dyspepsia, high blood pressure, alopecia, and rheumatism by the German Commission E, which regulates drugs and medical devices in that country.

But the doses are small: just 1 to 2 grams per day taken with 5 ounces of hot water. The oil is only topical. And overdosing can cause everything from seizures to miscarriage.

A better idea is to skip the supplements and cook with rosemary, which is great on roasted vegetables. Or drop fresh sprigs into a bottle of olive oil for use on salads and chicken.

Whether you grow it in a garden or find it in the wild, try rubbing your hands on rosemary leaves for immediate aromatherapy.

Eating Nuts Boosts Heart Health

People who eat nuts three times a week have a lower incidence of both heart disease and cancer than do non-nut-eaters, which translates into a lower risk of dying as well, new research suggests.

Investigators at Universitat Rovira i Virgili, in Tarragona, Spain, randomized 7,000 older people aged 55 to 90, dividing them into one group that followed a Mediterranean diet, supplemented with extra virgin olive oil or nuts, and a control group following a low-fat diet.

They found the people who ate nuts tended to have lower BMIs and smaller waists. They were also less likely to smoke and were more physically active than those who rarely or never ate nuts. Nut eating was associated with a better diet in general, as these people ate more vegetables, fruit, and fish.

According to this research, the group that ate the most nuts had less diabetes and high blood pressure. Overall, nut eaters had a 39% lower mortality than non-nut-eaters. An analysis of the data also showed the walnut-eaters fared best, with a 45% lower risk of dying during the follow-up period.

In addition, those eating more than three servings of nuts a week, no matter what kind, reduced their cardiovascular disease risk by 55% and risk of developing cancer by 40%.

Although the study tipped the scale towards cashews, all types of nuts correspond with good heart health, and almonds in particular help lower cholesterol. But nuts are fattening, so make sure you eat just small amounts or else you’ll find your waistline expanding.

The study was published in the BMC Medicine journal.

Tell the CDC to Release Vaccine Injury Data Now!

The VSD contains health billing codes and vaccine information for millions of Americans, including thousands of unvaccinated children. Independent scientists and the public should have access to this deidentified data to compare the health outcomes between unvaccinated children and vaccinated children.

As you may be aware, few studies have been conducted on the health outcomes of vaccinated versus unvaccinated children.

However, those that have been conducted suggest that unvaccinated children have lower rates of many forms of chronic health issues.

This is especially concerning given that the CDC acknowledges that over 50% of children now have a chronic health issue, up from around 12% in the 1980s.

What actually happened to our children? Why are they so sick?

The Institute of Medicine has stated that this study can be conducted using VSD data, and the CDC even drafted a white paper in 2015 on conducting such a study using the VSD. However, the CDC has never published such a study, and it is unclear if the study ever happened.

We need to let the data speak for itself! We deserve the truth about vaccine-related injuries and death!

Making Teens Safer Drivers

In the 1950 driver's education film, “Last Date,” actor Dick York plays Nick, a bad boy who drives recklessly. A peer warns Nick that he's destined to commit “teenicide,” defined in the film as “the fine art of killing yourself, and maybe someone else, with an automobile before you reach the age of 20.”

Predictably, a subsequent joyride ends with Nick dead and his date Jeanne disfigured for life.

Nearly 70 years later, teens are going on fewer formal dates, but vehicular accidents are still a leading cause of death, according to study published in the New England Journal of Medicine.

In 2016, more than 4,000 U.S. children and adolescents were killed in car crashes. That’s almost 11 a day. And teen drivers are nearly three times more likely than older drivers to be in a fatal crash.

That doesn't mean teens shouldn't drive, but they need the tools to do so safely. Research shows that when parents and teens talk about rules for safe driving and come to a formal verbal or written agreement, it reduces risky driving behaviors.

Other important steps include:

• Set a good example. Teens who have seen their parents drink and drive are three times more likely to follow in their footsteps.

• Limit the number of passengers in the car while your teen (up to age 18) is driving. One other teen passenger, maximum.

And no driving after 9 p.m.

Don't Wreck Your Teeth

You might think that chewing on ice can't be that harmful considering it's natural and sugar free. The reality is munching on hard, frozen cubes can chip or even crack your teeth.

And if your mindless chomping irritates the soft tissue inside a tooth, regular toothaches may follow. Hot foods and cold foods may trigger quick, sharp jabs of pain or a lingering toothache.

Grinding your teeth can wear teeth down over time. It is most often caused by stress and sleeping habits. This makes it hard to control. Avoiding hard foods during the day can reduce pain and damage from this habit. Wearing a mouth guard at night can prevent the damage caused by grinding while sleeping.

Opening bottle caps or plastic packaging with your teeth may be convenient, but this is one habit that makes dentists cringe. Using your teeth as tools can cause them to crack or chip. Instead, keep scissors and bottle openers handy. Bottom line, your teeth should only be used for eating.

However, the research now suggests that fish is a nutritionally powerful food and the benefits offset its potential risks.



Remember, it’s always a good idea to make sure the fish and seafood you’re consuming are varieties that contain less mercury.

Can Baking Soda Help Stop Cancer?​

Please note: Baking soda could be ONE of the myriad therapies you use to heal cancer. Do not try anything new until talking to your medical team because unmonitored use of baking soda therapy can lead to health issues.
Using baking soda isn’t just an excellent and natural way to clean floors, freshen breath, and deodorize stinky feet—it may help heal breast cancer. Your body (the human internal ecosystem) is stabilized by several different buffering systems that keep your body functioning at a high level for as long as possible. The pH system (an acid-base balance) is a critical one to monitor, especially for those on a healing journey. Your pH should be between 7.35 to 7.45 to maintain homeostasis (equilibrium) and optimal cellular health. When your body drops below 7.35, your gut health-immune system is weakened. This creates the perfect environment for bacteria, illnesses, mold, and viruses to grow. Therefore, maintaining an alkaline pH balance through proper diet and lifestyle is one of the most critical tools for optimizing your health.
Research has shown that the body’s cancerous (including breast cancer) regions have a significantly lower pH than surrounding tissue.
This 2021 study found that “controlling or maintaining unfavorable exogenous pH levels, such as slightly alkaline pH, for cancer cells in vivo, could retard the growth of cancer cells or potentially treat cancer.”
Baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) can regulate pH as a counterbalance to acid buildup in the body. It has also been found to inhibit spontaneous metastases! Acid is developed and spread via chronic stress, eating processed and toxic foods, using harmful home and beauty products, and so forth.

Poor Sleep Habits May Worsen Asthma

Dr. Chauncey Crandall, M.D., writes:


One large study found that getting too little or too much sleep may worsen asthma in adults. Researchers asked nearly 1,400 adults age 20 and older with self-reported asthma about their sleep habits. About 25% said they slept five hours or less a night (short sleepers), 66% slept six to eight hours a night (normal sleepers), and 8% slept nine or more hours a night (long sleepers).

Compared to normal sleepers, short sleepers had a higher risk of an asthma attack, dry cough, and overnight hospitalization during the past year; significantly worse health-related quality of life, including poor physical and mental health and inactivity due to poor health; and more frequent general healthcare use during the past year.

Special: Sleep Better With This Doctor’s Natural Secret

Compared to normal sleepers, long sleepers were more likely to have some activity limitation due to wheezing, but no other significant differences.
The study suggests that it would be beneficial for asthma patients to discuss sleep issues with their allergists.

Those discussions can help determine if they need to change their asthma treatment plan to achieve adequate sleep as a component of overall good asthma management.
