A free way to "test" for parasites​

In the previous email, I mentioned that because parasites are so hard to detect with standard lab testing I instead use bioenergetic testing.

Another way to "test" for parasites is to simply consider symptoms very carefully using a symptoms-based assessment or questionnaire.

However, a challenge with using an assessment or questionnaire is that the symptoms of parasites can be exactly the same, or have massive overlap with, the symptoms of bacterial or fungal dysbiosis.

In fact, parasites can even cause dysbiosis.

For example, when small intestine bacteria overgrowth (SIBO) does not resolve despite repeated efforts, parasites might be the reason.

That's why I created an online assessment document that covers parasites along with bacterial and fungal dysbiosis, and I will give it to you in a minute.

When I was a kid, my mom bought Shaklee vitamins and protein powder. We also had some brochures that talked about how these products worked.

One brochure said that B-Complex helped with energy and brain function. I figured if I took a handful before school, I’d make my teacher proud of me. I was about 10 years old, it made sense at the time.

I’ll spare you the details but suffice it to say a handful of B-Complex on an empty stomach is not a good idea. I get nauseous just thinking about it!

I assumed that more was better. If your brain needs B-Vitamins, more must be better, right?

It took some time to realize that was not how vitamins worked.

Stable Cholesterol May Help Prevent Dementia

Fluctuating cholesterol levels among older adults may increase the risk for Alzheimer's disease and other dementias, a new study has found.

Those with the greatest fluctuations in cholesterol had a 19% higher risk of developing dementia, and those with the most fluctuations in triglyceride levels had a 23% increased risk.

Researchers collected data on more than 11,500 men and women ages 60 and older who did not have Alzheimer's or other dementia. They found that over an average of 13 years of follow-up, those who had the most variation in their cholesterol levels saw a greater risk for mental decline.

Of the more than 2,400 people who developed Alzheimer's or dementia, 515 with the most variations in cholesterol levels developed dementia, compared with 483 of those who had the least variation.

Lead researcher Suzette Bielinski, with the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, believes the findings could be helpful in the search for contributing factors that lead to Alzheimer’s and dementia.

"Fluctuations in [cholesterol and triglycerides tests] over time could potentially help us identify who is at greater risk for dementia, help us understand mechanisms for the development of dementia, and ultimately determine whether leveling out these fluctuations could play a role in reducing dementia risk," she said.
