Hey Jimi,
In this episode, I’m speaking with Eva Detko, Ph.D., a natural healthcare practitioner, speaker, and author of The Sovereign Health Solution: Heal the Psycho-Energetic Root Causes of Chronic Illness. She has studied natural medicine and the human mind for 25 years and successfully recovered from chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia, along with reversing a diagnosis of Hashimoto’s thyroiditis.
Today, we’re talking about the importance of addressing emotional trauma when recovering from chronic fatigue and other chronic diseases.
This episode was originally published in March 2022
In this podcast, Dr. Detko and I discuss:
  • How both physical and mental early-life experiences can play a vital role in determining our health later in life

  • How the separation of mind and body by medical professionals has hampered their ability to address chronic illness (and the need to address “the triangle of healing”)

  • The classic signs and symptoms of emotional toxicity and unresolved trauma—how many do you have?

  • How unresolved emotions like shame, fear, anger, and guilt can sabotage our attempts to recover from serious disease and how best to address this

  • Why we shouldn’t worry about the accuracy of polyvagal theory to explain the mechanisms behind trauma

  • The top modalities Dr. Detko uses to teach people how to heal themselves

  • 3 tips for addressing underlying emotional trauma and toxicity in your life
Yours in health,

I hope you’re enjoying the Holiday Screening of our Healing Kitchen docuseries! Remember, you only have until this Monday at 11:59pm PT (US) to squeeze in all the episodes.

There is one episode in particular that I think EVERYONE should make sure to watch. It's Episode 4 on Brain-Boosting Dishes From Antiquity - and I'll tell you why it's so vital for all of us to see...

But before I get to that, here is your link again to watch the entire Healing Kitchen Series now:

https://healingkitchen.thesacredscience.com/holiday-replay-page/

Ok, why is Episode 4 so important to watch?

Because every single one of us has experienced some type of sluggishness or dysfunction on a mental level - and this can have a serious impact on our quality of life. It has become an accepted part of our human existence that as we get older, our brains begin to play hooky on us. Sometimes when we really need them to show up.

We all know what it feels like to forget where the car keys are - or just that overall feeling of “being out of it.” Wouldn’t it be nice to have the mental sharpness and recall that you had when you were in your teens?

In Episode 4 of Healing Kitchen: Let Food Be Thy Medicine, we explore specific herbs, superfoods, and recipes that can have a powerful effect on the cognitive issues that many of us experience in our daily lives (for those of us with young kids - even more so!) -- such as difficulty focusing on one task, weak memory, foggyheadedness, and overall lack of clarity.

You can watch Episode 4 along with all the other 8 episodes FOR FREE, by clicking the link below:

https://healingkitchen.thesacredscience.com/holiday-replay-page/

Now, these everyday “normal” brain blips are definitely inconvenient and can be a little embarrassing - but they pale in comparison to the more serious cognitive and neurological diseases that many people are suffering from as we speak. The symptoms of these chronic illnesses can be far more severe and sometimes tragic.

I myself recovered from a pretty serious brain disorder using herbs and other natural medicines, so this is a deeply personal topic to me. When modern medicine told me I would be cognitively impaired for life, I began trying these ancient approaches out of sheer desperation. I found a traditional remedy that worked and within months, my brain was fully healed.

My personal healing story is not at all unique - every day, thousands of people are fixing their health problems using these medicinal herbs, mushrooms, and other natural approaches.

Are you ready to supercharge your brain with delicious recipes and formulas that could very well upgrade the way you perceive and respond to the world around you?

Let’s dive in.

Alzheimer’s: Disease of the Brain or Heart?

By Chauncey Crandall, M.D.

Most people view Alzheimer’s disease as merely a neurological disorder, affecting only the brain and not the rest of the body. But growing evidence suggests that Alzheimer’s is actually the result of the same systemic condition that causes coronary heart disease, heart attack, and stroke.

The cardiovascular system is comprised of your heart and the network of vessels that supply oxygenated blood to all the organs, tissues, and cells in your body, including your brain.

Special: These 7 Things Activate Alzheimer's in Your Brain...

The brain, in particular, is an oxygen guzzler. Although it comprises only 2% of the body’s weight, your brain uses 15% to 20% of the oxygen carried in your blood.

But atherosclerosis, the culprit that causes cardiovascular disease, can derail both the quantity and the quality of the oxygen your brain receives. Also called hardening of the arteries, atherosclerosis occurs when fatty deposits known as plaque form in blood vessels, narrowing them and hampering blood flow.

When this narrowing occurs in your heart’s arteries, it is called coronary artery disease. When it happens in the brain, it can cause a stroke.

In addition, there is growing evidence that atherosclerosis affects the brain in other ways, including vascular dementia, aneurysm, headaches, facial pain, trouble seeing, confusion, and dizziness, as well as personality changes.

Sleep regularity is more important than sleep duration

Optimal sleep duration has been the focus of sleep health guidelines, but emerging research demonstrates that sleep regularity, the day-to-day consistency of sleep-wake timing, can be a stronger predictor for some health outcomes than sleep duration.
In fact, sleep regularity is a stronger predictor of mortality risk than sleep duration. So, whether you have sleep challenges or not, you will thrive better if you go to sleep and wake up at the same times each day.

Do you have a blunted or dysregulated circadian rhythm?

Your circadian rhythm, sometimes referred to as the "rest-activity" circadian rhythm, is the pattern of activity and rest that your body goes through each day, affecting how well you sleep, repair cells and tissues, make hormones, remove pathogens and toxic substances, and more.
Even if you are not aware of having a blunted or dysregulated circadian rhythm, in my experience almost everybody does (including me much of the time), and this affects everything pertaining to health, beginning with sleep.
So I added a section called "Blunted or Dysregulated Circadian Rhythm" to the "48 Potential Causes of Poor Sleep Most People Have Never Considered" (was 47+ causes) article.
Better understanding how your circadian rhythm works and developing a greater commitment to maintaining a strong, well-regulated circadian rhythm are two of the easiest, lowest-hanging, most impactful steps you can take right now for better health, slower aging, and of course better sleep.
You can use the Table of Contents at the top of the article to jump straight to the new "Blunted or Dysregulated Circadian Rhythm" section of the article. Click here to access the article.

Spot Hidden Health Problems Early with Clues from Your Standard Blood Test Results

An enormous opportunity to spot and potentially prevent health problems early is lying right under our noses ... hidden clues in the results of standard blood tests like the Complete Blood Count (CBC) and Comprehensive Metabolic Panel (CMP).
I wrote about this in some emails in August of this year, and now I have put all of that information into a new article called, "Spot Hidden Health Problems Early with Clues from Your Standard Blood Test Results"
Looking for these hidden clues in standard blood test results is one of the most cost-effective ways to keep an eye on your health.
Check it out.

Is vagus nerve and polyvagal system dysfunction the most significant dysregulator of sleep?

As I added a new section called "Dysfunction of the Vagus Nerve and Polyvagal System" to the "47+ Potential Causes of Poor Sleep Most People Have Never Considered" (was 46+ causes), I started to think that this contributor to sleep challenges might be the most significant overall because it is probably involved as a mediator of many other causes or contributors to sleep challenges.
If this topic interests you, I recommend checking out the new section called "Dysfunction of the Vagus Nerve and Polyvagal System". You can use the Table of Contents at the top of the article to jump to that section near the end of the article. Click here to access the article.

Iron and manganese overload, Bartonella and Babesia, interference fields, and blocked meridians can cause sleep problems

Many of the people that I work with have one or more gene polymorphisms for iron overload (hemochromatosis), which potentially cause an even worse problem, manganese overload.
Manganese overload interferes with the synthesis of coenzyme Q10, which among many other things is necessary for the metabolism of hydrogen sulfide, which is one of the many influences on sleep because it interferes with mitochondrial function and increases the generation of sulfite (and its direct and indirect effects on neurotransmitters) via upregulation of the Transsulfuration Pathway.
So I have added information about this to the "46+ Potential Causes of Poor Sleep Most People Have Never Considered" (was 41+ causes) article.
I also added information about nutrient deficiencies affecting coenzyme Q10 synthesis in section called "Deficiencies of riboflavin (vitamin B2), coenzyme Q10, iron, glutathione, NADPH, thiamine (vitamin B1), magnesium, copper, niacin (vitamin B3), vitamin B6, and zinc".
And since fasting, caloric restriction, and carbohydrate restriction can contribute to problems with sulfur metabolism, I have added a section for that.
These are the new sections of the article:
  1. Fasting, Caloric Restriction, and Carbohydrate Restriction
  2. Manganese Toxicity and Gene Polymorphisms for Hemochromatosis
  3. Gene Polymorphisms Affecting Coenzyme Q10 Synthesis, Absorption, and Transport
  4. Statins and Possibly Bisphosphonate Drugs
  5. Interference Fields and Blocked Meridians
The last one, Interference Fields and Blocked Meridians, is particularly interesting because it deals with the "healing is voltage" principle that could be the very most important principle for anybody interested in health to understand.
Go here to access the updated article.

From gut symptoms to brain symptoms ... impaired sulfur metabolism runs deep, especially in challenges with sleep

If you have sleep challenges and also have symptoms like ...
  • Diarrhea, loose stools, or excessive intestinal motility
  • Allergies, histamine issues, or mast cells activation syndrome,
  • Chronic pain
  • Muscle spasticity or tension
  • Anxiety
  • PTSD
  • Depression
  • Bipolar disorder
  • Irritability
  • OCD tendencies
  • Eating disorders (including orthorexia)
  • Feeling "hangry" after skipping meals or fasting (especially if it does not go away immediately after eating more)
... then you might have problems with sulfur metabolism.
Since problems with sulfur metabolism can impact sleep (but not always), I have added more detail about sulfur metabolism to the "41+ Potential Causes of Poor Sleep Most People Have Never Considered" (was 32+ causes) article.
You don't necessarily need to have sleep problems to have sulfur issues, so this article could be relevant to you if you have the other symptoms listed above but don't have sleep challenges.
Here are some of the sections that were added:
  1. Impaired sulfur metabolism
  2. Sulfite accumulation
  3. Deficiencies of magnesium and zinc
  4. Hydrogen sulfide accumulation
  5. Oxidative stress
  6. Fasting, caloric restriction, and carbohydrate restriction
  7. Deficiencies of B2, coenzyme Q10, B6, iron, glutathione, NADPH, B1, and magnesium
  8. SQOR, TRT, ETHE1 gene polymorphisms
  9. CBS and CTH gene polymorphisms
Go here to check out the updated article. You can use the Table of Contents at the top to jump to the new sections you have not yet read.
There is also a section about sleep apnea and upper airway restriction syndrome (UARS), which has become increasingly common due to the underdevelopment jaws, skulls, and airways resulting from the nutrient-depleted state of our food and diets, as well as the softness of the foods in modern diets that no longer requires much chewing, which is a signal that promotes the development of the jaws and skull.
The article,"32+ Potential Causes of Poor Sleep Most People Have Never Considered" (previously 29+ causes) has been expanded to include the following contributors to sleep:
  1. Constipation, Toxic Bowels, and Toxic Bile
  2. Hypothyroidism
  3. Restless Leg Syndrome
And some of the other sections have been expanded, such as the sections on dysbiosis and vitamin A.
If any of this seems relevant to you, check out the new sections and/or the expanded sections.

We have made incredible strides in reclaiming natural methods in conventional medicine. Diet, herbs, gut health, acupuncture, positive outlook, homeopathy, meditation, yoga, light therapy, and more are techniques that are frequently incorporated into standard medical practices.
But what about dentists?
While there has been tremendous innovation in materials and technology, dentistry (for the most part) is still stuck in the 1950s model of "drill, fill, and get to the next patient as quickly as possible." These dentists treat your teeth like they are stand-alone objects that have nothing to do with the rest of your body or health.
Truly, how conventional dentistry handles dead or abscessed teeth is appalling!
But there are a few brave dentists who recognize how connected your entire health is to your teeth. And these rare dentists are creating whole new models of dental health care.
--->>Learn natural alternatives to regular dentistry when you attend this complimentary, online masterclass!
Dr. Michelle Jorgensen will be your host at the Holistic Dental Masterclass. After practicing traditional dentistry for 10 years, Michelle became very sick. Through her own path to return to health, she discovered she had mercury poisoning from drilling out mercury fillings for her patients.

Hey Jimi,

You probably have a simple spice in your kitchen right now…

That has proven effective in reducing cancer cells!

Allspice!
A study on PubMed reported that…

“Evidence exists that allspice can alter the proliferation of several cultured cancerous cells… Cell viability was reduced by about 50% when allspice extract was added to prostate cancer cells (LNCaP cells) reduced the viability of prostate cancer cells (LNCaP) by 50%.”

Animal studies also show that allspice can…

Suppress the growth of malignant cells…

And protect against harmful agents, like sodium chloride and ethanol.

Which can damage your body.

Imagine that - a spice you’ve been sprinkling into recipes might actually protect your cells at the molecular level!

It is just like Hippocrates was frequently quoted saying

“Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.”

Allspice is just one example of the powerful natural remedies shared in my husband, Jonathan Otto’s, 61-page guide…

Hey Jimi,
How safe is the food on your supermarket shelf?
Definitely NOT as safe as government agencies have led us to believe…
Because they’re part of the problem.
The FDA, whose job it is to ensure our food supply is safe…
Lets Big Food corporations decide for themselves whether the chemical compounds they routinely add to our packaged foods are “safe”
Even though some of these additives have been recognized as carcinogens
You’ll find them in your breakfast cereals, baked goods, ice cream, potato chips, microwave popcorn, chewing gum, cured meats, and countless other packaged foods.
According to the Environmental Working Group (EWG), the following carcinogens and endocrine disruptors are readily added to our processed foods:
  1. Nitrites and nitrates
  2. Potassium bromate
  3. Propyl paraben
  4. Butylated hydroxyanisole (BHA)
  5. Butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT)
  6. Propyl gallate
  7. Theobromine
  8. Secret flavor ingredients
  9. Artificial colors
  10. Diacetyl
  11. Phosphate-based food additives (Watch List)
  12. Aluminum-based additives (Watch List)
Why?
For decades, billion dollar food corporations have taken advantage of the loopholes in the FDA’s “generally recognized as safe” (GRAS) regulations…
Which means…
Those additives that Big Food decides are GRAS…
Do NOT require government review or approval before they can be added to our foods!
Why is the FDA so lenient towards Big Food?
Because there’s a not-so-secret “revolving door” of FDA employees leaving their government jobs to work for lucrative private corporations…
And, they’re legally permitted to influence FDA policy “behind the scenes”...
One more “lucrative loophole”.
But, we do not have to accept this corrupt system…
We can take steps right NOW to restore our health and break away from this cycle of disease for profit
In my eye-opening book, Sick Profits: How Big Pharma Poisons Our Food Supply and Makes Money by "Curing" Us, you'll discover:

What Is a Sepsis Infection?

By Dr. Mike Roizen, MD

When Madonna was found unresponsive and had to be intubated at the intensive care unit, she seemed to be contending with sepsis — a life-threatening infection. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports that every year, at least 1.7 million adults in the U.S. develop sepsis and nearly 270,000 die from it.

But what is sepsis exactly?

It’s a bacterial, viral, or fungal infection often associated with a dysfunctional immune system, widespread inflammation, blood clots, or leaky blood vessels, which can lead to severely low blood pressure and potential organ damage.

Special: This Gut Health Secret Is Key to Your Body's Immune Challenges

People age 65 and older (Madonna is 65) and those with a compromised immune system who have recently had surgery, have a chronic condition such as obesity, or have an infection of the lungs, urinary tract, skin, or gastrointestinal tract are most vulnerable.

Symptoms include fever, chills, rapid breathing and heart rate, rash, confusion, and disorientation — making it easy to mistake sepsis for some other illness.

In the intensive care unit, doctors may administer antibiotics and fluids, drugs to support heart and blood vessel function and prevent blood clots, and in some cases insert a breathing tube or perform surgery to excise the infection.

Although the risk of death increases every hour treatment is delayed, about 80% of patients recover from sepsis — most with no residual problems.

However, sepsis can leave a person with cognition problems and make them more vulnerable to developing other infections.

If you or a loved one has those symptoms and are at risk, get to an emergency department ASAP.

6 Shared Risks of Alzheimer’s, Heart Disease

By Chauncey Crandall, M.D.

Alzheimer’s disease and coronary artery disease are both progressive diseases that incubate for decades before becoming apparent. How a person handles decisions regarding lifestyle patterns and medical conditions years earlier can determine their risk later in life.

Establishing healthy habits while young can offer the best outcome down the road, experts say. Here’s a list of six risk factors that cause both coronary artery disease and Alzheimer’s.

Special: Defend Yourself Against Two Major Killers With This Simple Program

Diabetes. Although the connection is not well understood, studies show people with diabetes face a higher risk of developing Alzheimer’s.

High Blood Pressure. Hypertension is the biggest cause of both stroke and vascular dementia, and is also linked to Alzheimer’s.

High Blood Cholesterol. Your brain needs cholesterol for healthy functioning, but evidence shows that a high cholesterol level is linked to Alzheimer’s. In addition, studies have found that patients taking lipid-lowering cholesterol drugs had a lower risk of Alzheimer’s.

Smoking. Cigarette smoking is a major cause of stroke, which leads directly to dementia.

Lack of Exercise. Not exercising may contribute to Alzheimer’s in a variety of ways. First, it can lead to common risk factors, including diabetes, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol. But there’s also evidence that a sedentary lifestyle can cause unhealthy changes in the brain’s structure.

Poor Diet. A poor diet that lacks fruits and vegetables, and/or is high in saturated fat, increases the risk of coronary heart disease — and has now been linked to Alzheimer’s as well.

#24 – 50,000 Bees Found in a Toddler’s Wall

When a 3-year-old began hearing strange noises and described them as “monsters” in the walls, her parents assumed it was just the typical imagination of a toddler. Little did they know, their daughter’s "monsters" were actually a colony of 50,000 bees throwing the ultimate buzzing bash inside her bedroom wall. When pest control was finally called, they uncovered a massive honeycomb and the unexpected guests. Thankfully, the bees were safely relocated, but the walls might still be sticky from their sweet escapades. Read the honey-soaked details.

#23 – AI “Beauty Queen” Crowned

The world’s first "AI Beauty Queen" has been crowned, and her name is Kenza Layli. Who is she, you ask? Well, she’s not a real person but an entirely AI-generated Moroccan influencer with a following of nearly 200,000 on Instagram and 45,000 on TikTok. That’s right, folks—this “beauty queen” was created by artificial intelligence, with her images, captions, and even her buzzword-heavy acceptance speech all coming from code and algorithms. Isn’t this a bit… weird? Is this where we’re headed now? The future of beauty queens is a robot, and we’re all just supposed to cheer for the inclusion of digital avatars? Dive into the drama here.

#22 – Kamala’s Bizarre “Space” Explanation

Kamala Harris is back at it again with her mind-blowing insights into the mysteries of the universe. During a NASA event, she graced us with her intellectual brilliance, declaring, “Space is exciting. It spurs our imaginations, and it forces us to ask big questions. Space – it affects us all, and it connects us all.” Wow. Just… wow. Groundbreaking stuff, right? Who could have ever possibly figured out that space is exciting? And wait—it affects us all? You mean, the vast, infinite expanse that exists beyond our planet is somehow relevant to everyone? Thank you, Kamala, for that revolutionary bit of wisdom. We’re all a little dumber for having heard it.

#21 – Green Bay QB Calls Audible When the Center Vomits on Football

Our son Bryce, the die-hard Green Bay Packers fan, is going to love this one! During their September home opener at Lambeau Field, chaos ensued when Packers QB Jordan Love got injured, forcing backup QB Malik Willis into action. But the real playmaker? The Packers’ center, who added some flair by vomiting on the football pre-snap. Willis, clearly unfazed and unwilling to throw the soggy pigskin, called an audible (changed the play) and took off running rather than passing the barf-soaked ball. That’s thinking on your feet! Willis probably figured it would be too difficult to get a good grip! 🏈🤢

#20 – Hair Dye Mishap Leaves Woman Temporarily Blind

What started as a routine beauty session turned into a terrifying ordeal when a French woman’s hair dye caused temporary blindness. According to the case report, the woman suffered retinal detachment and vision loss shortly after using a dye containing several problematic chemicals. Thankfully, her eyesight gradually returned once she ditched the product and switched to safer ingredients. While her story has a happy ending, it’s a stark reminder that not all beauty comes without risk—especially when your haircare routine nearly costs you your vision.

– Woman Marries AI Hologram

In a development that likely made heads spin and jaws drop, Spanish-Dutch artist Alicia Framis married her holographic partner, AILex, in the summer of 2024. Yes, you read that right. Forget meeting your soulmate in a coffee shop or at a mutual friend's wedding—now we’re forging lifelong connections with artificial intelligence. AILex wasn’t just some average chatbot or disembodied voice in a phone; this hologram was designed to be the perfect partner—no need to deal with those pesky human qualities like emotional depth, unpredictability, or, you know, the inconvenience of actual communication. Imagine a spouse who doesn’t get annoyed when you leave the laundry in the washer for three days or leave the toilet seat up! And hey, AILex didn’t require a bachelor party or wedding cake—talk about efficiency!

#13 – Man Eats Raw Chicken for Over 100 Consecutive Days!

A Florida man chowed down on raw chicken daily in a bizarre quest to prove that eating raw meat isn’t as horrifying as we’ve all been led to believe. John, who chose to withhold his last name, filmed himself eating slabs of raw chicken and chugging raw eggs for his 400,000 Instagram followers like some kind of bizarre culinary daredevil. His "scientific experiment" was simple: eat raw chicken every day until he “gets a tummy ache.” Now, we’ve all been told that eating raw chicken is practically a death sentence, thanks to the “terrifying risk” of salmonella. But somehow, John managed to go 100+ days without so much as a stomach rumble. No tummy ache, no food poisoning, no emergency room visits. Makes you wonder, doesn’t it?

#12 – Peanut the Squirrel Executed by the Govt

In case you didn’t catch this story when it happened, let’s revisit the saga of Peanut the Squirrel. The New York Department of Environmental Conservation raided his home—because the family didn’t have a license to care for an orphaned animal. God forbid! No license! When Peanut bit someone (which, honestly, a squirrel might do if you’re handling it like a hostage), they euthanized him without hesitation. All of this, apparently, was because Peanut didn’t have the “correct paperwork” to exist in the state. You’d think they’d go after actual criminals, but no—this is the government’s idea of justice in 2024. Meanwhile, President Biden’s out there slashing death sentences for 37 murderers. The government’s priorities are clearer than ever. Forget about personal freedom and make sure you’re not trying to save a cute animal without permission.

#11 – London “Wine Guy” Samples 25 Wines While Running Marathon

Tom Gilbey, nicknamed “the wine guy,” sampled 25 glasses of wine during the London Marathon. Because, obviously, what better way to finish 26.2 miles than with a mini wine tour? Forget the usual “finish line victory beer” – Tom was out there living his best life, with a full wine tasting between the miles. Imagine crossing the line not just with your time but with a nice buzz to boot. I guess some runners prefer a "sip and run" strategy over a “run and done” one. Sip on the details here.

#10 – Man Falls Through Ceiling – Gets Arrested

After months of dodging the cops, murder suspect Deario Wilkerson took a tumble—literally—into police custody. As agents searched a Memphis residence, Wilkerson attempted to hide in the attic... but instead fell right through the ceiling. So much for a dramatic escape plan. It’s like he was trying to fall into their laps—literally.

Florida Man Has ‘All-You-Can-Eat’ Walgreens Bender

Leave it to a Florida man to turn a Walgreens into his personal snack buffet. In July, Christopher Morgan decided to get some grub after hanging out for hours in the restroom, helping himself to an epic junk food feast inside a closed store. Police said Morgan began roaming around the store “treating himself” to various items, such as Tostitos spinach dip, chips, Reese’s chocolate, Ghirardelli chocolate bars, Dr. Pepper, and Newport cigarettes. I mean, who needs a 24-hour drive-thru when you can have everything at your fingertips—chips, candy, soda, and no one to stop you?

#8 – Farting Passenger Delays Flight

Think you’re having a rough day? Imagine being on an American Airlines flight from Phoenix to Austin, only to have the journey grounded by a rogue passenger with... a unique approach to protest. After most passengers were seated, passengers overheard a disgruntled man say, "You thought that was rude? Well how about this smell?" before passing gas. He followed it with a rallying cry: "Let’s just eat the smelliest food possible all at the same time!" Flight attendants weren’t impressed. Before long, “Fartman” was escorted off the plane, ensuring his gaseous grievances didn't linger at 30,000 feet.

#7 – Finance Worker Transfers $25 Million After Video Call w/ Deepfake CFO

In the ultimate con for our tech-obsessed era, demonstrating one of the dangers of AI, criminals in Hong Kong used AI-generated deepfake videos to impersonate a company’s CFO, convincing a bank to transfer $25 million to their account. Who needs old-school masks and wigs when technology can fake them better? The scammers even nailed the CFO’s mannerisms and voice, proving that tech isn’t just making deepfakes realistic—it’s making gullibility expensive. Meanwhile, actual fraud prevention remains stuck in the analog era, leaving companies scrambling to keep up with AI-enabled audacity.

#6 – Meme Coin Developer Catches on Fire During Live-Stream

Mikol, the developer behind the Solana-based meme coin DARE, has announced his departure from the project following a live-streamed stunt gone horribly wrong. In an attempt to boost his coin’s popularity, he doused himself in isopropyl alcohol and had fireworks launched at him, which set him ablaze and resulted in third-degree burns over 30% of his body and a trip to a Miami trauma center. The meme coin crowd has seen some bizarre stunts—think moms twerking or boxing-induced dental losses—but this one takes the flaming cake

Mystery Drones Over the USA: Aliens, Big Brother or Blue Beam?

New Jersey and New York skies have been buzzing—literally—with mysterious drones that seem to appear out of nowhere and then vanish without a trace. Officials have declared that they have “no idea” what these drones are but have assured the public there’s “no cause for concern,” which seems impossible to promise if they don’t know what they are! Speculation is rife: covert military tech? Surveillance experiments? Or, as some are asking, could this be the groundwork for Project Blue Beam—the CIA’s staged celestial events to manipulate global narratives? Whether it’s Big Brother or a holographic alien invasion, one thing’s clear: something’s up.

#3 – Man Arrested for ‘Driving Without a License’ Uses Zoom to Join Hearing … While Driving Without a License!

Sometimes, truth really is stranger than fiction. Picture this: A guy gets busted for driving with a suspended license. Fast forward to his court hearing, where he’s late (classic), so he decides to join via Zoom. Points for creativity, right? Except he’s calling in while actively driving… without a valid license. Bravo, sir. Truly pushing the boundaries of irony here. The lawyers couldn't even keep a straight face, and the judge threw the book at him, proving two wrongs still don't make a right.

#2 – Crypto Mogul Pays $6.2 Million for Banana Taped to Wall

In 2019, artist Maurizio Cattelan debuted "Comedian," a conceptual piece featuring a banana duct-taped to a wall, complete with a certificate of authenticity and instructions for replacing the fruit when it rots. He explained that the artwork symbolized how society places high value on everyday items. Fast-forward to November 2024, and after five minutes of feverish bidding, Chinese crypto mogul Justin Sun snagged the artwork for a paltry $6.2 million. “I’ve bought the banana,” Sun wrote on X on Nov. 21. “This is not just an artwork; it represents a cultural phenomenon that bridges the worlds of art, memes, and the cryptocurrency community.”

#1 – Mogul Eats the Banana

The pièce de resistance of 2024 is part 2 of the “banana taped to the wall” story. After paying $6.2 million for the banana, Justin Sun then ate it, claiming it was “delicious art.” Good for Justin! Hey, if you’ve got the cash, might as well enjoy it, right?

OK, that concludes the top 24 most “bizarro” stories of 2024. As 2024 wraps up, it's clear that the year has been nothing short of a rollercoaster ride through the bizarre and the unbelievable. We’ve certainly witnessed some truly strange stories that challenge the limits of imagination. While some may make us scratch our heads in confusion, others serve as a stark reminder that reality is often stranger than fiction. Who knows what weirdness awaits in 2025—if it’s anything like this year, we’re in for another wild ride. So, stay tuned and keep your eyes peeled—because the world is just getting weirder.

Tailored Supplement Recommendations for Prostate Cancer Scenarios

As Co-founder of XY Wellness, a company dedicated to supporting men’s health despite prostate cancer, I aim to provide clear guidance based on specific scenarios. Here’s how to prioritize supplements depending on your situation, budget, and tolerance for pills quantity:

1. Men with Intact Prostates (e.g., Active Surveillance, Low-Risk Diagnosis)

Goals: Stabilize PSA, improve urinary function, and delay treatment needs.

2. Post-Surgery or Full Gland Radiation

Goals: Lower recurrence risk and stabilize PSA.

3. Men on Androgen Deprivation Therapy (ADT)

Goals: Reduce side effects and support prostate cancer management.

Practical Tips for Taking Supplements

  • Timing: Take nighttime supplements 2–3 hours before bed.
  • With Food: If you experience GI discomfort, take supplements with meals.
  • Consistency: Remember, supplements complement—not replace—a healthy lifestyle. Exercise, diet, stress management, and sleep are non-negotiable.

Final Thoughts and Takeaways

While food should always be the foundation of your nutrition, modern challenges make supplementation a valuable tool to bridge nutrient gaps and achieve specific health goals. The key is to choose supplements strategically, focusing on your unique needs and ensuring they align with a balanced, healthy lifestyle.
With a targeted approach and the right supplements, you can optimize your health and take proactive steps in managing prostate cancer.
Here's to a healthier, stronger 2025!

Hi Jimi,
As a doctor dedicated to supporting brain health, I’m always struck by how everyday choices can profoundly influence our cognitive well-being.

Dementia risk isn’t just determined by genetics—lifestyle plays a pivotal role.

Here are five behaviors that research has shown significantly increase the risk of dementia, as well as tips on how to make brain-friendly changes.

🍔 Eating Highly Processed Foods - Diets rich in fast foods, sugary snacks, and processed meals are linked to a 30% higher risk of developing dementia! These foods can cause inflammation and deprive your brain of the nutrients it needs. Instead, choose whole foods: fresh fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, and healthy fats, like those found in a Mediterranean or ketogenic diet.

🪑Sitting Too Much - Sitting has been called "the new smoking" for a reason. Prolonged inactivity is associated with metabolic disease, depression, and cognitive decline. Make movement a part of your day—walk, stretch, or use a standing desk. Even small bursts of activity add up!

🪫 Neglecting Sleep - Chronic sleep deprivation is a significant risk factor for dementia. Sleep is when your brain clears toxins and consolidates memories. Aim for 7–9 hours of quality rest each night, and if you suspect sleep apnea, seek treatment promptly.

😟 Allowing Stress to Overwhelm - Excessive, unmanaged stress impairs memory and decision-making, increasing dementia risk over time. Incorporate stress-reducing practices like mindfulness, regular exercise, or simply connecting with loved ones. A balanced amount of stress—enough to keep us motivated but not overwhelmed—is key.

👂Ignoring Hearing and Vision Loss - Untreated sensory impairments, such as hearing loss, can accelerate cognitive decline. These issues reduce brain stimulation, leading to atrophy in underused areas. Don’t delay addressing vision or hearing changes—early intervention makes all the difference.

Your Brain, Your Choice
Each of these behaviors is within your control, and even small changes can significantly impact your brain’s health. Start with one or two adjustments—skip the processed snack, take a brisk walk, or commit to a consistent sleep schedule.

Your brain deserves care and attention today for a sharper, healthier future.

Warmly,
Dr. Heather Sandison

P.S. I was honored to be hosted by The Resetter’s Podcast, where we discussed ways to empower brain health.
P.P.S. If you missed yesterday’s webinar on implementing a keto diet for brain health, there’s still time to register for my FREE webinar on Exercise and Activities for Brain Health on January 6th.

Well, not exactly a new idea.
