Summer is in full swing, and I know many of you are heading out for some much-deserved rest and adventure.

If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed about how to stay on track with your hormone-supportive habits while traveling, you’re not alone.

Here are a few simple tips I always share when it comes to nourishing your body on the go:

✅ Pack healthy options like raw nuts, beef jerky, or veggies with hummus

✅ Book a place with a fridge or kitchenette so you can prep a few simple meals

✅ Grocery shop when you arrive—rotisserie chicken, hard-boiled eggs, fresh fruit, and pre-cut veggies are easy go-tos

✅ Check restaurant menus ahead of time. Many offer gluten- and dairy-free options or are happy to adjust meals if you ask.

✅ Bring your own meal on the plane in a glass container

✅ Skip the inflight alcohol and opt for sparkling water or a refreshing mocktail instead

Zucchini Chips

A nourishing take on a travel-friendly snack


Ingredients:

• 1 large zucchini, thinly sliced
• 1 tablespoon olive oil
• ½ teaspoon salt
• ¼ teaspoon black pepper

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Toss zucchini slices with olive oil, salt, and pepper.
  3. Spread on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  4. Bake for 15–20 minutes or until golden + crisp.
These pair perfectly with mashed avocado, hummus, or even a few bites of protein. You can also try the same method with sweet potatoes, beets, or rutabaga!

Traveling doesn’t have to mean ditching your goals.

The Japanese Mic Drop:
MMR Vaccines Increase Heart Risk

The hard science proves nearly 200,000 individuals would not die year over year of heart disease had they not received the MMR vaccines.

  • For men and women who contracted measles and had no measles vaccine, they had an 8% reduction in cardiovascular disease;

‘Cancer Is Just Everywhere’: Could Farming Be Behind Iowa’s Unfolding Health Crisis?​

“For the last few years, Iowa has had the second-highest rate of cancer in the nation, and is only one of two US states where cancer is increasing.

‘People in rural communities are getting sick. Cancer is just everywhere,’ said Kerri Johannsen, senior director of policy at the Iowa Environmental Council, a non-profit focused on improving the environment that is helping to lead the project. ‘Every person I talk to knows somebody that has [recently] had a cancer diagnosis,’ she said. ‘It’s just a constant drumbeat. It’s scary.’

Many residents blame the insecticides, herbicides and other pesticides widely used on farms as well as the state’s persistent problem with high levels of hazardous nitrates that wash off farm fields into the state’s water supply.”

The U.S. Food System Needs More Than ‘Doomsday Vaults’ for Seeds​

“Climate change isn’t the only concern seed vaults now face. In the U.S., the 22 sites operated under the umbrella of the USNPGS face political threat as well. In March, the Trump administration’s Department of Government Efficiency, which was briefly headed by Elon Musk, attempted to eliminate some of USDA’s probationary employees, including many research scientists. Though a court order restored some job positions, the political climate leaves the future of the USNPGS—and public food security—hanging in the balance.

It’s against this environmental and political backdrop that small farm operators and seed keepers fight for seed sovereignty. For seed keepers of color in particular, the practice of tending, saving, and distributing seed offers a tangible avenue of identity affirmation and resistance against austerity measures and the legal and economic domination of Big Seed.

Starting in the 1940s, the federal government distributed seeds for individual households to plant under the Victory Gardens Program. ‘Then corporations got the idea that they could get the government to stop giving away seeds, and they could sell a lot of seeds [instead],’ Woodley said. Decades later, Diamond v. Chakrabarty, a 1980 Supreme Court case, allowed the first genetically modified organism to be patented, paving the way for companies to treat seeds like intellectual property.”

The unvaccinated children are rarely sick, and when they do get an infection, they recover much faster than their vaccinated friends. The unvaccinated have far fewer chronic health conditions. Why don’t other doctors and pediatricians see what became so obvious to me over the last decade of my medical career?
Other doctors and pediatricians discharge families from their practice if they don’t follow the CDC schedule. They are selectively punishing the vaccine-injured and blinding themselves to the truth that is right under their noses by refusing to see the very patients they injured with their vaccines—injuries they don’t recognize.
Families who have witnessed a child regress into severe non-verbal autism are understandably reluctant to spin the wheel of misfortune and vaccinate their next child or children. Those families end up in the few practices that honor informed consent and the ethical principle of “First, Do No Harm.” In many cases, those families simply don’t have access to a pediatrician or doctor experienced in the care of unvaccinated children.
Their “crime”?
Paying attention to what happens to their children after vaccines and being unwilling to harm their children because of what they know.

Can you imagine how frustrating and isolating it is when these parents try to share their experience and warn other parents and loved ones, only to be shunned and accused of being misinformed?
As a pediatrician who spoke up about what I was seeing, published this key article (read here), and lost my license and booming pediatric practice, I share that experience of being canceled and shunned by my peers and the establishment.
