Dear Jimi,

If you are concerned about glyphosate, deuterium (and their impact on the current global health crisis) please invest an hour of your time to learn what is most important.

When glyphosate is aerosolized and inhaled it potentially affects the immune system, resulting in the "cytokine storm" that characterizes some cases of the virus. This topic is definitely worth exploration and we were lucky to have Dr. Stephanie Seneff join our Future of Health series.

These topics seek to root out some of the core causality of the current health crisis and explore why some people are more adversely affected than others.

  • How infectivity around curtailing the current global health crisis and rising death rates is highly skewed toward countries that make heavy use of glyphosate and biofuel production.
  • An important fact to note is that vaping actually produces a lung disease very similar to the current virus, and e-cigarettes contain a key ingredient, glycerol, which is a by-product of biodiesel fuel production.
  • The hypoxia response in the current viral infection is intended to shut down mitochondrial ATP production, in order that the mitochondria can concentrate their efforts on supplying deuterium-depleted water to the intermembrane space.

  • Heme oxygenase is sharply upregulated in acute cases of this illness, and it normally tames inflammation. But glyphosate's disruption of the protein causes it to be pro-oxidative instead, and interferes with its ability to deplete deuterium in the mitochondria.

Dr. Seneff is a senior research scientist at the Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL) of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. For over three decades, her research interests have been at the intersection of biology and computation.

She has published over 170 refereed articles and has published over two dozen papers in various medical and health-related journals on topics such as the impact of nutritional deficiencies and environmental toxins on human health.

Enjoy the replay!

Mental Health Monday
Negative emotions can serve a purpose for a time. They can draw our attention to things that we need to fix or heal in our lives, they can spur important action and change in the world, and they can motivate us to fight for something better. But if we focus on them for too long and allow them to run rampant through our lives, they will take them over completely, and that is no place from which to make positive change, on a personal or a global scale.

The best way to combat them is to place our attention onto more positive emotions, allowing these to grow in their place. This week's MHM is a pretty simple one that will help you to do this.

SELF-COMPASSION
After my love note last week about forgiveness, this topic has been on my mind the last few days. As I said last Sunday, forgiveness is such an important part of moving forward with our lives after trauma has happened, both granting it and asking for it. There was a very important part of forgiveness, however, that I realized I failed to mention, and that would be forgiving ourselves.

As humans, we have a terrible tendency to treat ourselves the worst of anybody. If a friend or loved one makes a mistake, says the wrong thing, accidentally breaks our favourite mug, or picks a fight, we are often quick to forgive, to reassure them that they are human and that it’s okay to make mistakes; it’s something everyone does. But too rarely do we turn that compassion on ourselves, too rarely do we include ourselves in "everyone".

When we perceive that we have made an error, taken a wrong step, said something we regret, too often we beat ourselves up over it. Even after we have been forgiven by the person we advertently or inadvertently hurt, we still run the events round and round our minds, piling on mountains of guilt and regret and self-directed anger.

These emotions, gifted to us by our ever-present conscience, do serve a purpose in that they motivate us to seek forgiveness when we need to, but they do not serve us when we cling to them far beyond their usefulness. If the other person can let it go, so can you; it just takes a little self-compassion, a reminder that you are human too and that it’s okay for you to make mistakes as well.

Self-compassion becomes even more difficult, but also comparably more important, when we are both the party wronged and the one doing the wronging. I don’t know about you, but for so long I was guilty of regular cycles of negative self-talk. Ate something I shouldn’t have? I’m the worst and have no self-control. Didn’t exercise? God, I’m so lazy. Having a bad hair day? Ugh, how ugly. Got distracted and wasted half an hour? Guh, you are the most frustrating ever! Got cancer? Look at what you are putting your family through; you suck. It becomes such a habit for so many of us that it just feels normal.

But I’ve been learning something: it doesn’t have to be our normal.

Just as it’s important for your health and healing to practice self-love and self-care, it is equally important that you practice self-compassion. When you fail, feel insecure, or make a mistake, treat yourself with the same care and kindness that you would your best friend or partner. According to Dr. Kristin Neff, an educational psychologist and self-compassion expert, “In contrast to self-esteem, self-compassion is not based on self-evaluations. People feel compassion for themselves because all human beings deserve compassion and understanding, not because they possess some particular set of traits (pretty, smart, talented, and so on). This means that with self-compassion, you don’t have to feel better than others to feel good about yourself.”

All human beings deserve compassion and understanding, not because they possess some particular set of traits. This was a big lesson for me, because I was not treating myself this way for most of my life; I felt like I needed to be a certain way, look a certain way, behave a certain way to be worthy, and I didn’t even realize I was feeling and thinking this way.

If you are the same, if you are feeling patient guilt or any other hurricane of self-directed negativity, the good news is that you can start to change that right now. Start looking at yourself through the eyes of your best friend or partner. Start showing yourself more kindness, more understanding, and more forgiveness.

Just like we must forgive and ask for forgiveness in order to heal past wounds and move forward with both our emotional and physical healing, so too must we forgive ourselves through self-compassion.

To Our Global Healing ❤️

Hi Jimi,

Small Intestine Bacterial Overgrowth or SIBO is one of the most under-diagnosed gut conditions in the world.

In fact, it is estimated that over 70% of people with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) also have SIBO.

Undiagnosed and untreated SIBO is one of the BIG reasons why people can’t heal their gut—especially when they feel they’re already doing everything right!

This is actually a tragedy because SIBO and its symptoms like food intolerances, bloating, constipation/diarrhea, and pain are very much treatable.

So whenever this topic comes up, I always turn to my friend and SIBO expert Shivan Sarna.

She suffered from a lifetime of digestive problems only to be diagnosed with SIBO a few years ago. After that, she made it a mission to educate people about this misunderstood and misdiagnosed condition through SIBO SOS—the biggest resource for SIBO.

And now, Shivan has put together a FREE event called The SIBO SOS® Masterclass Summit.

This is a summit unlike any other you’ve ever attended.

This summit features 15 of the most respected SIBO experts in the world, teaching 20 SIBO-centred Masterclasses, It’s truly the most comprehensive event for people with SIBO.

And the best part?

All the presentations in the Masterclass Summit are taught with slide decks that make learning and retaining that info much easier.

It’s all happening free for just 48 hours from June 26 to 28, so be sure to save your seat today.

To your health,

Sarah Otto

P.S. Once you sign up, you’ll immediately get access to a popular interview with Dr. Ken Brown—a gastroenterologist and researcher who developed the only all-natural & clinically-proven answer for IBS & bloating. So make sure you don’t miss out on this ground-breaking summit!

Actress, writer, director, and producer Lena Dunham found that exercise was the key to getting on top of her emotional problems. "I know it's mad annoying when people tell you to exercise, and it took me about 16 medicated years to listen. I'm glad I did," she said.

We're also glad she found out how helpful exercise can be in reducing the symptoms of depression and anxiety. But researchers now say if she'd been active years ago she might actually have dodged the blues.

Research published in JAMA Psychiatry found that swapping out sedentary time for regular physical activity actually prevents depression.

The researchers say that you can get the protection with 15 minutes a day of high-intensity exercise such as running, cycling at 12-14 mph, singles tennis, soccer, or basketball; or with an hour of moderate-intensity exercise such as walking, playing doubles tennis, or cycling at 10-12 mph; or a combination of both.

Exercise boosts endorphins and triggers release of a protein in the brain that prompts nerve cells to grow and make new connections, including in the hippocampus, the area of the brain that's associated with memory and mood. Better brain function means better mood regulation.

The trick is to find exercise you enjoy so that you do it consistently. Try a bunch of things out if you're not certain what you like.

Some people thrive doing solo activities such as bike riding; others do well in a competitive setting like tennis or in a structured yoga or Tae Bo class.

Take a look: There's something out there for you.

Hi Jimi,

Some plant-based natural medicines are as effective — and sometimes more effective — than pharmaceuticals. And while a few can be dangerous, most cost much less and bring far fewer toxic side effects than prescription drugs.

So why don’t we hear more about natural medicines and remedies? Why aren’t studies investigating them more widely known? And, when they work, why don’t doctors prescribe them?

Do you think it could have something to do with the TRILLION-dollar-a-year pharmaceutical industry, which views plants as competition for market share (regardless of the cost or benefit to you or me)?

My friend, investigative journalist and filmmaker, Jonathan Otto, believes you have a right to know about which plant-based natural medicines have been proven to work.

So he has created a potent e-book (that you can pick up today at no cost).

Hi Jimi,

Two hours ago, the breaking news interrupted the movie you were watching: thousands of your neighbors were protesting less than a mile from your home. As if on cue, you hear the ebb and flow of two distant sirens, what sounds like a British soccer crowd singing, and much closer—breaking glass.

On the television, you see a dozen young men drag a limp figure from a silver SUV, which they promptly flip on its side. When you notice your TV is muted—it hits you: That rolling metal crunch you heard came from the street below your apartment. You find it hard not to wonder if you are next.

(if you sensed impending danger to you
and yours, would you feel
confident enough in your medical
skills to help yourself and others?
The right training can give
you that confidence)

Listening closely, you hear the repeating falsetto of a woman’s pained cry above the chanting crowd. It’s like you’re in a movie, you think. One with rich, realistic sound. You feel the swell of noise and energy from the crowd, and suddenly, there’s a flash outside your window, and strangely on the television at the same moment. A half second later, a pressure wave bends your cheek followed closely by a tremendous pop and howl.

In weird light, you turn to the television, now clearly displaying the main doors to your building, which are now blown inward. There, a handful of rioters covered in blood and dust are emerging from beneath cracked piles of wall and ceiling concrete. They move, zombie-like, in the direction of the building elevators that will take them, among other places, to your floor and your apartment.

(unlike the movies, emergency situations
rarely come equipped with doctors at the
ready. Make sure you come equipped with the
right training.)

You rush from room to room, locking your windows and closing shades. You hear a loud banging on your door. You freeze. You’ve never prepared for anything like this. Your mind goes completely blank. You can’t move your arms or legs.

The banging on your door continues and a strange croaking noise comes from a man who clearly wants to get into your home.

It takes you a few minutes to realize that the strangled voice is pleading, “Mom, mom….”

Oh my God!

You swing open the door and your son collapses into your arms. You do your best not to slip on the blood leading from him back toward the elevator, from which you see a young woman with an obvious compound fracture to her leg crawling in your direction.

You wonder what you should do. You don’t know who needs help more quickly. You wonder if your medical training could make you valuable enough not to cause harm to.

Get the right training and you’ll be
quicker to a confident decision. You
could save lives, and make yourself
too valuable to harm.

THE TIME TO PREPARE FOR THIS EMERGENCY IS NOW.

IT IS THE YEAR 2020 AND OUR WORLD IS DETERIORATING RAPIDLY.

BUT YOU CAN BE PREPARED TO HANDLE THIS EMERGENCY.

THE TIME TO DO IT IS NOW.

It does not take long to learn the skills to effectively handle a medical emergency like this.

And it doesn’t cost much to stock up on essential medical supplies that disappear first in any crisis.

You can get the training you need so you know what to do, and how to be calm, to be resourceful, and to be able to save the lives of those you love.

If you are prepared, you will be able to act.

Stay safe,

You're Supposed to Eat HOW MANY Fruits and Vegetables?!

The USDA changes its ruling on how many fruits and vegetables to eat daily about every five years.

You’ve got to be paying attention, or the last thing you’ll remember about the correct daily portions about fruits and vegetables will have come from your 11th grade Health teacher.

In the ‘60s and ‘70s, kids were told to eat 4 servings daily of fruits and vegetables.

In the ‘80s, it was 3-5 servings of vegetables and 2 servings of fruit.

In the ‘90s, they recommended 2-4 servings of fruit, but the same servings of vegetables.

Into the 2000s, fruits and vegetables took up the most space on the food pyramid, and even went so far as to illustrate the appropriate caloric intake.

Now, the understanding from the USDA is that everyone should be eating 2 cups of fruit and 2.5 cups of vegetables as part of our 2,000 calorie intake every day.

Pause here. Think about what your hunger cycles and eating routines look like. Are you eating breakfast? Likelier to have a big lunch than a big dinner? Completely starving until you eat at night, and then binging to make up for the day?

Do you feel good about the amount, kind, and spacing of food that you’re eating every day?

The health epidemic in the States, and the general population reports that most of us feel under energized, unfocused, and incapable of participating in the physicality of life to the degree we’d like to…

Well, it’s a problem that runs deeper than just fruits and vegetables. But for many of us, that’s where we need to start.

Can we trick ourselves into eating 2 cups of fruits every day and 2.5 cups of veggies?

Yes we can.

Make Sure You’re BUYING That Much

Especially during the pandemic, while we’re still trying to make as few trips to the grocery store as possible, earnestly attempting to eat more fruits and vegetables every day will take ensuring that they’re in your house.

For a week-long period, you need 10 cups of fruit and 12.5 cups of vegetables.

Multiply by how many people you’re feeding.

It’s going to look like a lot. But diversify! Get colorful vegetables, like eggplant. Get frozen mangos, frozen peas, huge bags of spinach, carrots, strawberries, apples, and bananas.

If your cart is so full of fruits and vegetables that there isn’t room for the normal amount of snacks and junk food, that’s a good thing! Don’t overfill.

Display Them Prominently

Don’t hide them in cabinets – anything that doesn’t have to be refrigerated should be easy for the eye to catch!

That way, when someone gets hungry, they don’t reach for a bag of chips. They’ll reach for a banana or a kiwi or into the crisper for some fresh broccoli.

If you’ve got children, or other housemates you’re trying to encourage to eat healthy, let them see you doing it! De-stigmatize vegetables – learn that it’s cool to eat them.

Cook Them in Bulk

If you’re buying in bulk, and worried that some vegetables will go bad and not get eaten, or that you simply don’t have the time to prepare a dinner every night that includes enough vegetables and fruit for everyone…

Cook them in bulk! Take a Sunday, chop a bunch of brussel sprouts and carrots and broccoli and sweet peppers, roast them, and freeze them!

It’ll make dinner time much faster, and make grabbing vegetables a thoughtless task.

Add Fruits to Morning and Afternoon Snacks

When you get the mid-morning hungries, or start to lag around three or four…

Don’t grab another coffee. Make sure you have melons to gummy, or apple slices with honey, or a banana to eat as you take a stroll around the block.

They’ll add up faster than you think as long as you build the habit!

And you’ll end up feeling fuller, more energized, less sluggish, and with clearer skin and better-fitting clothing in the long run.

Oops! I meant to send this to you last Monday, Jim … there’s time sensitive links in this email.

With the continuation of a global pandemic, resilience is a big topic!

Easy-to-use self-care tools are required for all of us to take care of ourselves and our communities. So many people are stepping up their self-care and herbal medicine making right now.

Perhaps you are one of them?

While everyone is talking about elderberry syrup and turmeric milk, herbal infused oils have been kept a secret. But now is the time for this massively underused home remedy to take its place - front and center in the home apothecary.

It is truly an antidote remedy for anxiety, tension, stress and confusion. My personal favorite is lavender-infused oil, but you can do this with so many of your herbs and flowers like calendula.

My good friend Kami has been teaching this for decades and takes you deep into the world of kitchen crafted herbal oils so you know how to maintain potency, properly store them and effectively preserve this amazing multi-purpose home remedy that you don’t want to be without!

Check out how to make calendula infused oil here.

But this FREE video is only available for a couple days, so go check it out today.

Why is this time sensitive?

Well... Kami has ALSO opened enrollment for her popular online course, Handcrafted Healing Herbal Oils. Lucky for us, she goes all out on the free lavender workshop which is kind of like a ‘trailer’ for the actual course. She only keeps this LIVE for a short time, while registration for the full course is open.

And when you’re ready to check out her full course...

Click here to watch her introductory video to Handcrafted Healing Herbal Oils

Herbal infused oils are one of my favorite go- to remedies. They are so easy to make (3 ingredients)!

I like simple ;)

Here’s why I am such a fan:

  1. You only have to make them once a year. You can make a super shelf-stable oil and don’t have to worry about it going bad
  2. They are great for every day self-care, they help relieve dozens of common ailments AND have amazing first aid uses
  3. These oils are expensive when purchased, but you can make them yourself for a fraction of the price.

Homemade herbal oils are a safe, kid-friendly home remedy.

Right now you can learn how to easily make this go-to remedy yourself!

Kami’s course Handcrafted Healing Herbal Oils will take you step by step through how to make affordable, high-quality, home-made, shelf-stable herbal infused oils right in your own kitchen.

Peace & carrots,
Stacey

You Need To Know These Stomach Acid Drug Dangers!
If you’re someone who regularly suffers from heartburn, you need to know the potential dangers of stomach acid drugs and how you can put out the fire.

Why Your Belly Burns
Heartburn is also referred to as “acid reflux.” If it happens more than twice in any given week, it’s called gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). The symptom most often reported is a burning sensation in the throat or chest and sometimes a foul, acidic taste. It’s how you feel when stomach acid travels from your stomach and up your throat.

The reverse of what stomach acid is supposed to do!

This is a quite common condition. Data from the American College of Gastroenterology states that approximately 15 million American adults experience heartburn daily.

Getting it once in a while is normal and usually a side effect of eating something new or unusual to your diet. Extremely strong coffee, spicy food, or even going too long between meals can give you a touch of heartburn.

It typically fades but common responses are to drink some water (dilutes the acid), eat a bit of bread (soaks up the acid), or to take an antacid tablet such as Tums™ or Rolaids™ (which temporarily neutralizes stomach acid). The third option shouldn’t be something you utilize often as all antacids are harmful taken long-term.

When It Isn't "Once In A While"
Occasional heartburn isn’t something to worry about and the dangers of stomach acid drugs will likely never be a concern for you.

However, if you get heartburn regularly, you need to make some changes.

The primary causes linked to chronic heartburn or acid reflux are poor diet (especially high-salt and low-fiber), smoking, obesity, and living a sedentary lifestyle.

Some pharmaceutical drugs for asthma, depression, anxiety, pain management, and allergies can lead to heartburn.

A typical gastroenterologist will write you a prescription. Before you fill it or pick up those high-powered “heartburn relief” drugs now available over the counter, you need some background information.

In the past ten years, pharmaceutical companies have gotten in on the heartburn gig. The drugs they’ve created work differently and they’re very potent.

There are two main types:

  • H2-receptor blockers (Pepcid™, Zantac™, Tagamet™, and others) stop histamine-induced gastric acid secretion from the parietal cells of the gastric mucosa (lining of the stomach).
  • Proton pump inhibitors or PPIs (Nexium™, Prevacid™, Prilosec™, and others) reduce the production of acid by the stomach by irreversibly blocking the actions of an enzyme responsible for acid production, located in the parietal cells in the stomach wall.
The dangers of stomach acid drugs have been well-documented over the years.

Researchers with Washington University in St. Louis examined 275,000 PPI patient records and connected long-term use of proton pump inhibitors to increased risks of kidney damage, bone fracture, dementia, and early death. Their findings were published in the British Medical Journal Open in 2017.

Ziyad Al-Aly, MD, senior author, and professor of medicine, explained:

“No matter how we sliced and diced the data from this large data set, we saw the same thing: There’s an increased risk of death among PPI users. For example, when we compared patients taking H2 blockers with those taking PPIs for one to two years, we found those on PPIs had a 50 percent increased risk of dying over the next five years. There are real risks to taking these drugs, particularly for long periods of time.”

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) warned that one of the dangers of stomach acid drugs is increased risk of severe bacterial infection in the intestines, particularly Clostridium difficile (C. diff).

Lead author of the study published in Clinical Infectious Diseases, Dr. Edith R. Lederman, stated, “Stomach acid is a very important defense mechanism against pathogens. It kills them.”

You see, this is the kind of thing that frustrates someone like me who’s been talking about the importance of the gut for three decades!

Dilute stomach acid, soak it up, even neutralize it temporarily. What on Earth made them create a drug that stops production or inhibits the basic functions it’s supposed to fulfill? It makes no sense!

Dr. Herbert DuPont with Baylor College of Medicine stated what should have been obvious long before now! “We overuse PPIs. We should use this class of drugs carefully. PPIs facilitate other intestinal infections including Salmonella, Campylobacter, Vibrios (including cholera), and Listeria – all important causes of food-borne disease.”

mail

To quench the fire in your belly, you have to work with your body, not try to shut off the natural responses critical to your health!

Ignoring chronic heartburn is not the answer. It can lead to inflammation, ulcers, scar tissue, difficulty swallowing, damage to the teeth, and bad breath.

A study published in New England Journal of Medicine found a definitive link between GERD and cancer. The authors wrote, “There is a strong and probably causal relation between gastroesophageal reflux and esophageal adenocarcinoma.”

None of this surprises me! I’ve been saying it for decades!

7 Lifestyle Changes To Extinguish The Burn
  1. Practice improving your posture (particularly during meals).
  2. If you get heartburn after consuming specific foods, food groups, or beverages – avoid them (common offenders are caffeine, carbonation, and chocolate).
  3. Eat smaller portions at meals.
  4. Following meals, avoid lying down for at least 2 hours.
  5. Avoid wearing clothing that is too tight around the torso.
  6. Quit smoking (for many, many reasons)!
  7. Maintain a healthy weight and incorporate regular exercise.
To avoid additional health risks and the dangers of stomach acid drugs, your best bet is always definitive lifestyle changes.

We're less than a week away from the The Leaky Brain Summit!!

I'm so excited that I'm appearing on Facebook LIVES throughout the week to give quick previews.

Video previews are outstanding because you get a great idea of what to expect. Transcripts and quotes also provide amazing previews.

When we recorded the 30+ interviews for The Leaky Brain Summit, Dr. Elena Villanueva and I uncovered so many brain health nuggets.

Obviously, the full-length interview transcripts are brimming with pearls of brain health wisdom. Here are a few quotes from the interviews:

Dr. Elena Villanueva
"We give our kids Cheerios, right? I gave my kid Cheerios as one of his first foods. I had no idea that it is one of the foods that is highest in the concentration of glyphosate out there. So we really want to be careful what we're putting into our mouths because our bodies don't just pee this stuff out. It just sits there, and it accumulates and accumulates and accumulates, and it leads to issues like brain disorders, cancers, cellular damage, inflammation."

Dr. Christine Schaffner
"When we sleep, our pineal gland produces melatonin. And melatonin is not only helpful for us for our circadian rhythm and having a deep sleep, but also melatonin in and of itself is actually a potent neuroprotective antioxidant that actually helps to remove all of these things — viruses, pathogens, heavy metals, waste products — from the brain. It's a powerful substance and antioxidant."

Dr. Greg Eckel
"Ask your neurologist. Do they have a plan for your nutrition? Food is our best medicine. It is the information coming in for our bodies to heal themselves. So we need to really address diet and nutrition to get complete care. The second question is, is your neurologist recommending any exercises? Exercise increases your circulation, gets blood flow flowing. What travels in the blood? The healing properties of your body."

So you can see, these transcripts are so useful and full of protocols of the health trade.

You can have these exclusive transcripts about brain health from Drs. Villanueva, Schaffner & Eckel!

With this gift, you'll also save a free seat for our online Leaky Brain Summit, June 29 thru July 5. We have over 30 experts teaching you more about evidence-based programs to understand leaky brain, and the neurochemical and neurodegenerative conditions associated with it.

Another great way to BE YOUR OWN GUARANTEE in your health and life!

Hi Jimi,

In 2018, the United States government approved agricultural production of hemp. Now, we’re seeing sales of hemp protein, hemp milk, hemp granola, hemp oil, and hemp seeds all exploding.

Is that a good thing? Or should you be concerned?

Here’s what you need to know about hemp.

Yours for healthy seeds,

Ocean Robbins

P.S. Hemp and marijuana are cousins. But hemp can’t get you “high” because it has virtually no THC. What it does have is an abundant amount of fiber, protein, fatty acids, and other bioactive compounds that can be good for your heart, brain, skin, and digestion. Get the whole story here.

Hi Jimi,

The world of plants is magical and fascinating!

I love studying how herbs and food work inside the body, then applying that knowledge to my own body first and then to my family members and patients.

In fact, rearranging my “food as medicine” station in my kitchen was one of the highlights of last year.

My special herbs and foods are now right at my fingertips, ready for action.

I’ll be sharing pictures during tomorrow night’s Power of Plants to Support your Immune System online masterclass.

Be sure to secure your seat and get on early so you can chat with us and get your questions answered.

I plan to share some of my favorite tips for using plants for healing and how to determine foods, herbs and spices that are good for your specific needs.

I look forward to seeing you tomorrow!

NOTE: Try to make it LIVE, if you can, as I have a special bonus I’ll be giving away at the end.

Big plant hugs,

mail

Dr. Ritamarie

P.S. Oregano, thyme and garlic are just a few of the plants we’ll discuss. There are many others that have the power to support your immune system, improve your energy, and protect you in the face of dangerous microbes. Tune in tomorrow for more details...

Jimi...

We need energy for … everything: relationships, work, happiness… From running a 5k to getting the mail, to every decision we make, all day, every day…

So the question is: How's that goin’ for you?

Today, we have something that can help.

Tap here for a sneak peek of the Superhuman Energy Summit. <=

Our good friend, Ari Whitten, has poured his life into the SCIENCE of energy - from cellular energy, to sunlight, to mindset and detoxification and so much more.

This is education from the world’s highest leaders on energy - the E=MC2 for everything.

I so highly recommend this event.

Some of these talks are literally the best I’ve ever heard.

Wishing you an amazing, energized day,

Joe

P.S. The saddest thing about low energy is that we ACCOMMODATE it … we “power” through. But in the end, that just makes it worse.

Even if you can only make time for even 3 or 4 of these sessions, this event is worth the price of admission (which is only your time - no cost to attend).

It was created by our friends over at Rebel Gardens and will be hosting a variety of speakers covering all things home garden.

Join these amazing gardeners as they teach you how create a thriving garden no matter how much space you have. This event will take you from never having touched a plant all the way to having a fruitful harvest.

Get to Know the Glycemic Load

By Chauncey Crandall, M.D.

Rather than just counting carbs, get familiar with the glycemic index and the glycemic load, numeric weighting systems that rank carbohydrate-based foods based on how much they raise blood sugar.

You can easily check online for a listing that show specific foods and how they rate on the glycemic index. You might be surprised how high some of your favorite foods are rated.

While monitoring these indicators might be especially helpful for people with diabetes, they also can be useful tools to keep others from developing diabetes and even lower the risk of heart disease.

The glycemic index is a measure of the blood glucose-raising potential of carbohydrate foods compared to a reference food, like pure glucose or a slice of white bread.

The glycemic load takes into account both the types of carbs in a food and the amount of carbs in a serving. The lower a food's glycemic load, the less it affects blood sugar and insulin levels.

Glycemic load gives a more exact measurement because even though most healthy foods are both low-glycemic index and low-glycemic load.

A few higher-glycemic-index foods — like bananas, pineapples, and watermelon — actually have low-to-moderate glycemic loads and can fit into many diets.

That's important because those three fruits in particular deliver many important nutrients.

Lowering the glycemic load of your diet happens naturally when you increase your intake of whole grains, nuts, legumes, fruits, and non-starchy vegetables, and decrease foods like potatoes, white bread, and sugary treats.
