Grilled Foods Hike Blood Pressure

Eating beef, chicken, or fish grilled or well-done is associated with a higher risk of high blood pressure, new research suggests.

Gang Liu of the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health in Boston and his colleagues analyzed cooking methods and the development of hypertension in adults who regularly ate beef, poultry, or fish and were participating in three long-term studies: 32,925 women in the Nurses' Health Study; 53,852 women in the Nurses' Health Study II; and 17,104 men in the Health Professionals Follow-Up Study.

Special: Coronary Heart Disease: 5 Tips to Reduce Your Risk

In each study, detailed cooking information was collected. None of the participants had hypertension, diabetes, heart disease, or cancer at the start, but 37,123 people developed hypertension during an average follow-up of 12 to 16 years.

Among adults who ate two or more servings of red meat, chicken, or fish a week, the risk of developing hypertension was 17% higher in those who grilled, broiled, or roasted the meat or fish more than 15 times per month, compared with fewer than four times per month.

I can say: “Wear a mask everywhere. It’s mandatory. Even for kids in school.”

I can say: “The death rate from C0V!D is very high. We should be worried.”

These are accepted as “factual statements of correct information.”

I can freely post these on social media, or email them, or make a YouTube video about them… and they won’t get taken down.

WHY IS THAT?

I CANNOT say: “I wonder if this v@((!ne is safe, because it hasn’t gone through the regular testing process.”

I CANNOT say: “I choose NOT to get my C0V!D shot,” and post that opinion on social media.

I CANNOT say: “We need to do our part to maintain our medical freedom. We all have the right of consent.”

I CANNOT say: “I choose not to wear a mask - and I think it’s dangerous for children.”

I CANNOT say: “The death rates are lower in 2020 than they are in 2019. How can we have a global pandemic, and the death rates drop?”

I CANNOT say: “I am not worried. The death rate from C0V!D is no higher than from influenza.”

We’re being told these statements are “not based on fact, and are dangerous misinformation.”

If I post these on social media, or email them, or make a YouTube video about these statements...

It will be labeled as misinformation, taken down immediately, and may result in my being banned from the ability to use social media…

Or even “de-platformed” and “canceled,” in order to keep me silent.

WHY IS THAT?

First things first, a proper glass of wine is a 5-ounce pour. So when I say "moderate drinking", that means what is clinically considered to be healthy. For women, it's one glass a day and for men it's two.

Wine contains antioxidants that attack free radicals. White wine is going to be your go-to if you're looking for one that is high in antioxidants.

As we get older, our bones get more brittle. You can always increase your calcium intake by drinking milk...but that's not nearly as enjoyable as sipping on a glass of red wine. The silicon in red wine is great for your bone density and it also reduces your risk of osteoporosis.

Moderate consumption of wine - and alcohol in general - can prevent blood clotting. Wine acts as a natural blood thinner, breaking up any blood clots that could lead to a stroke. This lower risk of blood clotting is more beneficial to females than males. HOWEVER, light to moderate consumption may be good in preventing a stroke, heavy drinkers are more likely to have the opposite effect, resulting in a higher risk of heart attacks, not a lower risk.
