| This might sound a bit sappy, but what a joy it is to share this message of love with you to contemplate and celebrate Valentine's Day, Jim. This is not a trite thing, but something we assert is the foundation to a fulfilling life. Getting the love relationship aspect of life “right” is a mandate. Here are some thoughts about that… Research has shown that people who live in happy, fulfilling love relationships live longer and healthier lives, no surprise there. But how is that possible? Especially when so many relationships fail and cause pain and injury. So as a tribute to Valentine’s Day and love affairs, Laurie and I would like to share some thoughts and experiences.
As a best practice, we create our love relationship values and premises together. By having these co-created in a relationship, it will significantly increase the probability of a lasting and fulfilling love affair. When a couple can be on the same page regarding relationship values and philosophy, it gives them a shared “sense of life”. And a premise we hold is that when a couple has the same sense of life, they can make it through the very tough times. And when a couple doesn’t have the same sense of life, they may have some great times, but the relationship can’t last. Of course, that’s just our view. Yours may rightfully be different. So, here’s some of our ‘stuff’... Our relationship vision: To create and sustain a legendary romance. Some of our premises (premises are “belief elements that drive your choices and actions):
Which are on yours? One of the most fulfilling experiences a human can have is a deep, intimate, long-lasting love affair. So, with that in mind, we celebrate this Valentine’s Day! Love, Patrick and Laurie |
