• Don't use an electric fan when the indoor air temperature is more than 95 degrees. The breeze can actually cause your body to gain heat instead of losing it.

*-- Tips to Maintain Good Posture --*

Don't Slump at Your Desk - I get it. If you work at a desk sometimes slumping down in your chair feels amazing on your back. I sometimes even lean back for a couple seconds and twist my chair. But if we find ourselves slumping down a lot of the time, were not doing ourselves any good.

Try this instead: Sit all the way back in your chair. You can place a small lumbar cushion behind your mid-back to protect your spine's natural curve. If you don't have a lumbar cushion, you can also purchase a posture support cushion which can be used in any chair, car seat or wheelchair. Also try bending your knees at a right angle and keep them at the same height. Then place your feet flat on the floor.

Don't Be a Slouch - The bottom line is that slouching causes stress on your spine. As a result, this puts a strain on the bones, muscles, and joints. Lousy posture isn't just bad for your back. When you constantly slouch, you ultimately smash your inside organs together, and makes it harder for your lungs and intestines to work. Over time, that'll make it hard to digest food or get enough air when you breathe.

Try this instead: Make it a habit to sit up straight as soon as you sit down no matter where you are. Whether you're sitting down for lunch or even in the movie theater, turn sitting up straight into a daily routine.

Don't Lean Back When You Drive - Sometimes it's hard to sit up straight when you drive, especially since the seats in cars are molded in a way that makes it difficult. But it is important that you try to sit up as straight as possible.

Try this instead: Position your drivers seat so that your knees are higher than your hips. If you have a lumbar support in your car, adjust it so that it sits at the curve of your back. If you find yourself stuck in traffic, you can even do a little stretch. Rotate your torso to one side for five seconds keeping your back straight and then rotate to the other side.

Check for Problems - We all know whether we are a slouch or not. It's not a surprise. And if you really aren't sure, here's a quick way to tell. Stand up against a wall and place the back of your head against it. Move your feet 6 inches out from the baseboard. Your lower back and your neck should be about 2 inches from it. If not, talk to your doctor about ways to improve your posture.

8 tips for cutting out sugar​


Here are eight simple tips a person can use to help cut sugar from their diet:

1. Take it slow​

One of the most important things to remember when changing the diet is to do so gradually. Going from a diet full of sugar to one without any should be a slow process.
It may help to start by eliminating the most obvious sources of sugar. People can easily avoid baked goods such as cakes, muffins, and brownies. Removing candy and sugary beverages is also an excellent place to start.
A person can also try reducing the amount of sugar and cream they add to their coffee or tea, working up to using none at all. Building up to a no-sugar diet can help a person retrain the palate, meaning that they are less likely to crave the missing sugar.

2. Read product labels​

Once a person has managed to cut out the most obvious sugar from their diet, they can turn their attention to other products that contain sugar. Reading product labels can help them identify types of sugars to avoid.
Sugar has many names and is in many different syrups and concentrates. There are at least 61 different names for sugar on food labels. The most common ones include:
  • cane sugar
  • brown sugar
  • corn syrup or high fructose corn syrup
  • evaporated cane juice
  • invert sugar
  • beet sugar
  • barley malt
  • coconut sugar
  • maple syrup
  • agave syrup
  • rice syrup
  • apple or grape juice concentrate
  • honey
  • demerara
  • sucanat
  • panela or piloncillo
  • turbinado
  • muscovado
People should also be aware that any item on an ingredients list ending “-ose” is also a type of sugar. Examples of these ingredients include:
  • sucrose
  • glucose
  • dextrose
  • fructose
  • lactose
Sugars hide in many different supermarket foods. Reading the label is a must for people who want to follow a no-sugar diet.
Products such as salad dressing and condiments, pasta sauce, breakfast cereals, milk, and granola bars often have sugar in their ingredients list.

3. Avoid simple carbohydrates​

Many no-sugar diets also recommend that people avoid simple carbohydrates. Simple carbs include white flour, white pasta, and white rice.
The body quickly breaks down the carbohydrates in these foods into sugar. This process causes a spike in blood sugar levels.
A person can usually replace simple carbs with whole grain options.

4. Avoid artificial sugars​

Artificial sugars are a subject of controversy in the diet industry. They are much sweeter than sugar but contain few or no calories.
However, eating artificial sugars can trick the body into thinking that it is actually eating sugar. This can intensify a person’s sugar cravings, making it more difficult for them to stick to a no-sugar diet.
For this reason, a person following a no-sugar diet should avoid artificial sugars such as:
  • Splenda
  • stevia
  • Equal
  • NutraSweet
  • Sweet’N Low
People can also look for the chemical names of these sweeteners on ingredients lists, especially in anything marketed as low sugar, low calorie, or diet food.
Chemical names include:
  • aspartame
  • sucralose
  • saccharin
  • acesulfame K or acesulfame potassium
  • neotame

5. Do not drink sugar​

Sugar may be easy to avoid in processed foods. However, sugar sweetened drinks are among the most significant sources of added sugars in the diet. These include soda, specialty coffee, sweetened teas, and fruit juices.
Replacing these drinks with unsweetened herbal tea, coffee without sugar, sparkling mineral water, or just water can help a person stay hydrated without increasing their sugar intake.

6. Focus on whole foods​

A person following a no-sugar diet should also aim to eat whole foods. Processed foods are more likely to contain refined ingredients or added sugars.
Diets that focus on whole and complete foods include the following options:
  • vegetables
  • fruits
  • lean meats, poultry, or tofu
  • fish
  • whole, unprocessed grains, and legumes
  • nuts and seeds
Some people might choose to keep a small amount of dairy in their diet, such as plain yogurt, simple cheeses, and milk.

7. Plan meals​

Sticking to a diet with no plan is difficult. When a person feels hungry, they may be more likely to reach for a sugary snack if they do not have nutritious meals and healthful alternatives to hand.
Many people take a day to do both their shopping and meal preparation for the entire week. With healthful food ready to go, they have less temptation to reach for a candy bar or soda.

8. Spice it up​

The palate often misses sugar because it has no other flavors to replace it. However, people can easily add many sweet tasting herbs and spices to foods and drinks to replace sugar.
Common replacements include cinnamon, nutmeg, cardamom, and vanilla. These can be a flavorsome addition to coffee, oatmeal, or yogurt.

Beware of Deadly Blood Clots
Dr. Chauncey Crandall, M.D., writes:


Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a condition in which blood clots occur in a deep vein in your body (usually the legs). If that clot travels to the lungs, it can cause a deadly pulmonary embolism.

Travel is one of the major factors that can contribute to DVTs, because sitting still for hours — whether in a car, train, or plane — can cause the blood to pool in your legs, and lead to the formation of clots.

When you travel by car, it is imperative to take advantage of every rest stop you come across to get out and stretch your legs. And if you’re on a train or plane, you need to get up and walk around frequently.

This sounds simple, but it’s your best protection.

If you’ve experienced any type of blood clot in the past, talk to your doctor about special precautions to take, such as wearing compression stockings. In addition, taking aspirin during your trip can help prevent blood clots.

Discuss that option with your physician before you set out.

There are discussions from our politicians here on vaccine passports for shopping too. It has strong support from the majority of the public.
I listen to a fair bit of talkback radio and all you mostly hear are people ridiculing the unvaccinated. There is still here our leaders on TV saying "get vaxxed not just for yourself but to protect others" they still wont admit that vaxxed people are carriers too.
Quite a number of businesses are now saying "no vax no job". Talk too of the same in the military. By what I listen to that all has support. I had to prove i'd qr code checked in to buy petrol yesterday.
I showed them my phone screen which showed id scanned their business one, but I hadn't pressed done which sends it. Out of the shop I just reverse tap and shut it down. I do that at them all.
What a future lays ahead of us. Qr coding at every place you go, not being able to work or buy food without a passport. People being asked and conditioned to turn on those who dont comply, people are doing that now. I hear them say on radio "well if they dont get vaxed and get sick and die well bad luck for them".
The hosts saying things like "well we really should report those we see doing the wrong thing because its for the greater good of us all isn't it"
One lady rang in and said she couldn't wear a mask because of her mental health condition with anxiety, how she freaks out and feels she cant breathe. How others make her feel bad in public confronting her for not wearing one.
The hosts response "well im sure you could find one if you looked that you can wear because you should be wearing one to help us protect each other" she says she tried them all and even her doctor says not to as it exacerbates her mental health problem. The "host, yeah well im sure you could find one if you look" Next thing all these other callers piling on her with "she could find one if she looks hard enough" "she should really be wearing one"
Another lady rings with some immune suppressed problem saying she cant have the vaccine and her Doctor highly recommended against it for her, just some anesthetic she had for some small op left her with Bells Palsy.
The host "you really should get vaccinated, talk to a dr and get vaccinated"
Its become quite sinister out there now hasn't it.

Thats the bizarre bit isnt it. If the people in any shop are vaxxed then what on earth are they worried about if someone comes in that isn't!
People are being conditioned and have been, to see unvaccinated people as dangerous even though they themselves are vaccinated and in theory shouldn't have a care in the world. They see us as wicked selfish people to be shunned. Its totally illogical. You could imagine that if those who are vaccinated, and that meant they could never ever contract covid, think "if we all get the vax, nobody can catch it then it will die out and be gone".
You could kind of get that but its not how it works as you know. As we know they can still get it and carry and spread it like anyone else. It doesnt kill it.
The worrying thing is if they can still get it and carry huge virus loads then the virus in those people will eventually mutate into something stronger and immune to vaccines. Like super bugs have done against antibiotics.
The conditioning that's going on is nuts.

This is getting ridiculous. Marriott issued an edict that all employees need to wear a mask world wide. The bartender at the hotel I stayed at the last two weeks said she isn't doing it and quit. I said good for her, she'll find a bartending job without the mandate I'm sure. The hotel had a sign on the door that stated un-vaxxed customers needed to wear a mask. I didn't wear one and no one questioned me.

I fly through Denver a lot and with the high altitude there is less oxygen in the air. Wearing a mask dilutes that even further with my own exhaled CO2. I pull mine down past my nose just so I can breathe as I walk from gate to gate.

Natural immunity from having had the Wuhan Flu and recovered is totally not taken into account. There is no real science being used by those in power. The mandates are all about keeping that power!

But this only causes you to lose yourself. Set healthy boundaries and don't allow anyone to mess with you. Be nicer to yourself. Stand up for yourself and never doubt your value in life.

Imagine if such brains and brawn were found in one person. Well, they can be — in you. And you don't have to hold the world's record in both strength and intelligence to get the benefits of that combination: a reduced risk of Alzheimer's and a healthier cardio and respiratory system.

A study in the journal Neurology followed 1,978 people, average age 80, and found that doing simple cognitive "exercises" such as reading, writing letters, playing card games, and doing puzzles may delay the onset of Alzheimer's disease by up to five years. And brain workouts later in life — not as a younger person — are what delayed the participants' cognitive decline.

While you're strengthening your brain, pay attention to your body. Another research team found that one year of moderate- to vigorous-intensity aerobic walking two to three times a week for 30 minutes — gradually increasing to four to five times weekly with two sessions of high intensity — improves cardiorespiratory fitness, cerebral blood flow, memory, and executive function in people with mild cognitive impairment.

The researchers say that also may reduce your risk of Alzheimer's.

We say combine brains and brawn and you'll have a win-win well into your 80s and 90s.
