Even a Few Extra Pounds Raise Heart Risk

New research has found that gaining even a little weight over the years is enough to affect the structure and function of the heart muscle, potentially increasing the long-term risk of heart failure.

A team from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas followed 1,262 adults with an average age of 44 for a period of seven years.

All participants were free from heart disease and other conditions that put them at high risk for it. MRI scans of participants' hearts and various body fat measurements were taken both at the start of the study and again seven years later.

The researchers found those who gained as little as 5% during the seven years were more likely to have thickening and enlargement of the left ventricle — a well-established indicator of future heart failure.

The long-lasting spike protein has been found in the brain, heart, liver, kidneys, ovaries, testicles, and other vital organs at autopsy in cases of death after vaccination.  In the case of vaccine-induced thrombotic injury, the spike protein has been found within the blood clot itself. Thus, there is strong rationale for considering residual SARS-CoV-2 spike protein as a treatment target in post COVID-19 and vaccine injury syndromes. The spike protein participates directly in pathophysiology, incites inflammation, and propels thrombosis. While specific syndromes (cardiovascular, neurological, endocrine, thrombotic, immunological) will require additional therapies, we propose the clinical rationale for a base detoxification regimen of oral nattokinase, bromelain, and curcumin for patients with post-acute sequalae from SARS-CoV-2 infection and COVID-19 vaccination.The empiric regimen can be continued for 3-12 months or more and be guided by clinical parameters:‍- Nattokinase 2000 FU (100) mg orally twice a day without food- Bromelain 500 mg orally once a day without food- Curcumin 500 mg orally twice a day (nano, liposomal, or with piperine additive suggested)

They want to show that it works is my guess. They should do a before/after but that would mean they have to get a real person instead of a model. And the pic could very well be a stock photo with no fee required.

Two days ago, I was having a tough afternoon. Without any thinking, I found myself walking into the kitchen, pulling out a bunch of vegetables and herbs, and filling a large metal pot with water.

Sometimes the heart knows what the mind does not.

Cooking is one of the most grounding and satisfying practices I know of. Might be because I grew up in a restaurant, but I have a feeling it’s something much deeper than that. When the world outside seems overwhelming, or you’re feeling a little off, sometimes just putting your hands on raw ingredients and working with spice and temperature to create something nourishing can bring you into a state of much-needed connectedness.

When we’re in this mindset, we begin to see deeper meaning in the process. In this place of enlightened motion, seemingly mundane ingredients begin to reveal their subtle secrets.

A Savory & Nourishing Lentil Soup Recipe:

At the heart of the sacred recipe below is an ingredient with quite a tale to tell.

The lentil.

Known as Lens Culinaris, the lentil is one of the oldest food sources in human history.

A vast majority of the ingredients we use today were cultivated after we humans settled down into agrarian societies and began planting and harvesting on a seasonal calendar. But there are some that were pivotal food staples of our ancestors long before that.

I’m talking about primal foods that hunters and gatherers treasured for their taste and nutrition. The everyday lentil, as plain as it might seem, is a member of that special group of ancient foods.

Evidence shows that hunter gatherers in Northern Africa and nearby regions of Southwest Asia consumed wild lentils over 13,000 years ago. And guess what?

They’re LOADED with nutrition.

RFK Jr. recently called for an end to water fluoridation across the country—a stance strongly supported by our community. The Mediterranean diet is a plant-based diet that emphasizes whole grains, fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, legumes, fish, and healthy fats like olive oil while limiting red meat and processed foods. This diet has been linked to improved heart health and a reduced risk of chronic diseases. Now an analysis of survey responses from more than 1,500 adults has shown that those who eat a Mediterranean diet have less stress and better mental wellbeing than those who don’t. By contrast, individuals who consume more fast food and sugary foods report higher stress levels. (More)

What Your Poop Frequency Reveals About Your Health

Bowel movement frequency (BMF) is vital for gut health and is linked to diseases such as chronic kidney disease and dementia. In one study, researchers analyzed data from generally healthy adults to explore how BMF impacts health at a molecular level. The results showed differences in gut bacteria, blood metabolites, and lifestyle factors based on BMF categories which are associated with inflammation and the health of the heart, liver, and kidneys. Notably, lower BMF was linked to reduced kidney function, partly due to a toxin called 3-indoxyl sulfate (3-IS) produced by gut bacteria. This suggests that harmful toxins from poor bowel habits may contribute to organ damage and chronic diseases as people age. (More)

#1 Lifestyle Factor Linked to Cognitive Decline

A study investigated how different lifestyles affect cognitive decline, focusing on data from 32,033 cognitively healthy adults aged 50 to 104 in 14 European countries. Researchers looked at 16 lifestyle factors over 10 years, using a reference lifestyle that included non-smoking, moderate alcohol consumption, regular physical activity, and weekly social interactions. They found that memory and fluency decline were similar among non-smokers. However, those who smoked experienced greater declines in memory and fluency compared to the reference group. The results indicate that smoking is a key factor influencing cognitive decline. (More)
