Dr. Crandall: Extreme Heat Can Trigger Heart Attacks, Strokes

Dr. Chauncey Crandall, renowned cardiologist and author of "The Simple Heart Cure," "The Simple Heart Diet" and "Heart & Health Alert," told Newsmax that extreme summer heat poses serious risks to cardiac health.

Crandall, speaking to "Newsline" from Florida, emphasized that both excessive heat and cold can adversely impact the body, particularly in older adults.

"We are seeing many patients come in with heart issues — heart attacks, arrhythmia, even strokes — during this hot weather," added Crandall, director of preventive medicine at the Palm Beach Cardiovascular Clinic in Florida.

Crandall, whose work centers on heart disease prevention and early detection, explained that the body's ability to regulate temperature weakens with age, increasing vulnerability to heat-related illnesses.

He highlighted several dangers posed by hot weather, including dehydration, blood pressure drops, electrolyte imbalances and thickened blood — all of which raise the risk of cardiac events.

To minimize danger, Dr. Crandall recommended avoiding outdoor activities during peak heat hours, staying hydrated and dressing appropriately. "I usually walk every morning," he said, "but if you get out past 9 a.m. here in Florida, it's a rough day for you."

Dr. Crandall also pointed to a sobering statistic: Nearly half of those who die from heart attacks each year never exhibited symptoms beforehand. Using Cancer to fight Cancer

Cancer. It is one of the most feared words in our vocabulary, so frightening that in polite conversation, it is often spoken of in whispers. A word that the last 120 years of medical diagnosis programming has taught us, is synonymous with death. But it is also a fact of life and fear is counter-productive in the fight against it. What we need is the power of belief that healing is always possible. Through prayer and hope, God will guide us along our paths, and show us His way. One of His gifts he has given us in this battleground is actually a form of cancer, but it’s not a human cancer, it is cancer of the birch tree.

Chaga; Scientific Name – Inonotus Obliquus, is also known as birch conk, canker, or cancer. Chaga is a member of the kingdom fungi, a mushroom, but it is unlike most⁣ mushrooms that we are familiar with. It has a history of ancient use as traditional medicine by the tribes of Alaska, Canada, Siberia and Scandinavia, as well as Chinese, Ayurvedic and Greek medicines. Chaga is a truly remarkable organism and the part that we harvest and use is not the mushroom itself, but rather a tumor from the tree.⁣

The Chaga mushroom is inside the heartwood of the birch tree as an infection or invasion and the canker that is harvested, is an expression of the battle between the host birch tree and that fungal invader. The tree’s immune system reacts to the chaga by assaulting it with powerful botanical compounds, but the chaga reacts by converting those compounds and then storing them far away from battle, on the trunk of the tree.⁣
This knot of concentrated botanicals from the tree’s immune system, is what is better known to us and to science as chaga. Native tribes believe that it is a root medicine, a gift from God and they may be right.⁣

Tests have shown that the chemical makeup of the chaga conk is almost 85%⁣ genetically derived from the birch tree and only 15% from the mushroom itself and the compounds derived from the birch tree are those with most healing potential. Among them are chaga’s unique triterpenoids like betulinic acid, inotodiol, trametenolic acid and⁣ lanosterol. These compounds have been studied for their potential benefits and been shown in hundreds of studies across the globe to help fight against cancer. In a recent study, a chaga extract showed effectiveness in eliminating cancer cells in vitro, against 8 out of 10 of the most common forms of human cancer, including breast, lung, liver, colorectal and prostate.

I have been fortunate enough to witness some remarkable stories of people’s perseverance against cancer, including in my own family and chaga has been a major part of their healing journeys. While fear is an inevitable fact of life when faced with cancer, it is also a fact that only through fighting back against that fear, can we have any hope of defeating it. Through God’s grace and with His gifts, we have the best chance to win the fight and chaga is one of His greatest gifts.

The Cancer Patient Who Inspired French Movement To Block Reintroduction of Pesticide​

“In the day French MPs gave themselves a round of applause for approving legislation to reintroduce a banned pesticide last month, a figure rose from the public gallery to shout: ‘You are supporters of cancer … and we will make it known.’
Fleur Breteau made it known. Her outburst and appearance – she lost her hair during chemotherapy for breast cancer – boosted a petition against the ‘Duplomb law’ to well over 2m signatures.
On Thursday, France’s constitutional court struck down the government’s attempt to reintroduce the pesticide acetamiprid – a neonicotinoid banned in France in 2018 but still used as an insecticide in other EU countries as well as the UK – in a judgment that took everyone by surprise. The ruling said the legislature had undermined ‘the right to live in a balanced and healthy environment’ enshrined in France’s environmental charter.
‘We are living in a toxic world and need a revolution to break the chain of contamination in everything … If people don’t react we’ll find ourselves in a world where we cannot drink water or eat food that is uncontaminated, where a slice of buttered bread or a cup of tea poisons us. It will be a silent world, without animals, without insects, without birds.’”

Where Does Your Food Come From? First-Of-A-Kind Map Tracks Journey Across Thousands of Miles​

“If extreme rainfall wiped out all food growing in Jalisco, a Pacific coastal state in western Mexico, it would eliminate enough calories to feed 765,000 people in the United States. A widespread drought in the Brazilian state of Paraná could cut enough fat to meet the needs of more than 1.7 million people in Egypt. Western Australia’s next major heatwave could knock out enough protein to feed 8 million people in China.
These are some of many insights revealed by a newly launched interactive tool called the Global Food Twin. Developed by CU Boulder data scientist Zia Mehrabi and his collaborators at Earth Genome, a non-profit organization, the interactive digital map shows how food moves from farm to table. It offers a first-of-its kind view into the world’s highly connected and increasingly fragile food system.
‘This is a landmark effort, because no one’s ever done this at this scale and level of detail,’ said Mehrabi, assistant professor of environmental studies and founder of CU Boulder’s Better Planet Laboratory, which leverages data science to address some of the leading global environmental and human rights issues. ‘We’re able to represent the complexity of our food system, showing people a window into a world they haven’t seen before.’”

However, its programs and recommendations heavily promote a plant-based diet—excluding meat, dairy, and eggs altogether. This same institution developed the Food Compass Score, which bizarrely rated foods like Frosted Mini Wheats as more nutrient-dense than beef.
Nina Teicholz, author of The Big Fat Surprise, has written extensively about the bias against animal foods in public health and nutrition science. She argues that many of the studies underpinning dietary guidelines are deeply flawed, often observational, and confounded by variables like socioeconomic status and lifestyle. Yet these same studies influence food policy and FIM program eligibility.
Dr. Frédéric Leroy, a professor of food science and biotechnology, has also been a powerful voice exposing the global anti-livestock agenda that increasingly shapes our food policy and public perception. His research highlights how a small network of ideologically driven organizations—often backed by corporate and philanthropic interests—has successfully influenced dietary guidelines in schools, hospitals, and government institutions. Through detailed investigations, Leroy has demonstrated how this movement infiltrates media narratives, academia, and global policy frameworks, promoting plant-based diets as a universal good while undermining the role of animal-sourced foods in sustainable and healthy food systems.”

Ziploc Faces Class Action Lawsuit Over Microplastics Shedding Concerns​

“A new lawsuit is questioning the ‘microwave safe’ and ‘freezer safe’ claims of Ziploc plastic bags. The lawsuit against S.C. Johnson alleged that these claims for its Ziploc brand products are misleading, and that these uses of the products increase risk of exposure to microplastics.
According to the lawsuit documents, ‘Defendant affirmatively markets its Ziploc bags and containers (the ‘Products’) as ‘Microwave Safe’ and suitable for ‘Freezer’ use, creating the reasonable impression that they are fit for use in the microwave and freezer. In reality, these Products are made from polyethylene and polypropylene — materials that scientific and medical evidence shows release microplastics when microwaved and frozen — making them fundamentally unfit for microwave and freezer use. Relying on Defendant’s false misrepresentations, individuals have unwittingly exposed themselves and their families to undisclosed microplastics during routine kitchen practices.’”

What Neuroscience Says About Reading Versus Listening​

“Whether reading a book or listening to a recording, the goal is the same: understanding. But these activities aren’t exactly alike. Each supports comprehension in different ways. Listening doesn’t provide all the benefits of reading, and reading doesn’t offer everything listening does. Both are important, but they are not interchangeable.

Your brain uses some of the same language and cognitive systems for both reading and listening, but it also performs different functions depending on how you’re taking in the information.
When you read, your brain is working hard behind the scenes. It recognizes the shapes of letters, matches them to speech sounds, connects those sounds to meaning, then links those meanings across words, sentences and even whole books. The text uses visual structure such as punctuation marks, paragraph breaks or bolded words to guide understanding. You can go at your own speed.
Listening, on the other hand, requires your brain to work at the pace of the speaker. Because spoken language is fleeting, listeners must rely on cognitive processes, including memory to hold onto what they just heard.”

Why the FDA says they’re doing this:

  1. NDT is not formally FDA-approved
  2. Since 1968, there have been just over 500 reported adverse events
  3. They cite a theoretical risk of impurities or infections from animal-derived thyroid tissue
Here’s what the record actually shows:

  • NDT has been in use since 1891 and was grandfathered in when the FDA began regulating medications in 1938
  • FDA records show 2,851 adverse reactions for NDT since 1968 - compared to 76,557 for synthetic T4-only medications in the same timeframe
  • There has never been a documented case of infection or harm from impurities in NDT
What this could mean:

  • NDT could disappear entirely
  • Armour Thyroid may be the only brand left
  • Or nothing may change—but history suggests we should prepare for the worst
In my years of practice, I’ve seen many people feel far better on NDT than on T4 alone—and large studies confirm this isn’t unusual.

Here's what most people don't realize about self-doubt…

There's actually a healthy version and a destructive version.

Healthy self-doubt is like a gentle tap on the shoulder when you're about to do something genuinely risky without preparation. It says: "Hey, maybe learn a bit more about this first."

Destructive self-doubt? That's the voice that keeps you small even when you're more than ready to grow.

The 4 ways destructive self-doubt shows up:

1. The Self-Fulfilling Prophecy
"I can't do this" becomes the reason you don't even try. And when you don't try, you "prove" yourself right. It's a vicious cycle where your limiting belief creates the exact evidence you need to keep believing it.

2. Self-Sabotage You don't prepare for the interview because if you fail, at least you can blame it on lack of preparation rather than lack of ability. Your mind would rather guarantee failure on your terms than risk discovering you might not be capable enough.

3. Imposter Syndrome You've achieved incredible things, but you're convinced it's all been luck and everyone's about to discover you're a fraud. Success feels terrifying because it means you have further to fall when people "find out" you don't belong.

4. The "Never Good Enough" Loop No matter what you accomplish, that voice says it could have been better, should have been more, wasn't quite right. You rob yourself of celebrating any wins because there's always something that could have been improved.

Sound familiar?

Here's what I've discovered after 30 years of working with clients.

All of these patterns trace back to one core feeling: "I'm not enough."

Maybe it started with overly critical parents who meant well but left you feeling like nothing you did was quite right.

Maybe it's the constant comparison trap of social media, where everyone else's highlight reel makes your real life feel inadequate.

Your mind isn't trying to hurt you. It's trying to protect you by keeping you in familiar territory, even when that territory is limiting.

The problem is, everything worth doing in life requires stepping into the unfamiliar.

Tomorrow, I'll share the three simple rules that can help you retrain your mind to become your greatest supporter instead of your harshest critic.

Because here's what I believe: you already have everything you need inside you. You just need to learn how to access it.

Why chicken is a hormone-friendly choice

Chicken is a fantastic source of high-quality protein, which is essential for hormone production, muscle repair, and steady blood sugar throughout the day.

Pairing protein with healthy fats (like the avocado oil mayonnaise in this recipe) and fiber from fresh veggies helps you stay full and avoid energy crashes.

Eating enough protein—about 25–30g per meal—supports:

  • Stable blood sugar (fewer cravings + better mood)
  • Healthy muscle mass (important for metabolism)
  • Satiety (so you feel full and satisfied)

🥗 Protein-Packed Chicken Salad

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups cooked chicken breast, shredded or chopped
  • ½ cup avocado oil mayonnaise
  • 2 celery stalks, finely diced

  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice

  4. Season with sea salt, pepper, and parsley to taste.
  5. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days.
