Can Dietary Supplement Lower PSA?​



This past week numerous patients reported a reduction in their PSA after starting the lifestyle regimen I prescribed. They wanted to know what caused such a drop in PSA.



This past week numerous patients reported a reduction in their Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA) test after starting the prescribed lifestyle regimen. They wanted to know what precisely caused such a drop in PSA.



All were keen on ImmunoPCTN and GDtoxSel as the cause of such a reduction leading to such favorable results. Besides following the prescribed lifestyle protocol for prostate cancer, a few already ate clean, exercised, and the only difference was consuming ImmunoPCTN and GDtoxSel.



Can Dietary Supplements lower PSA?



In my clinical experience, I've seen specific dietary supplements lower PSA, but, as always, dietary supplements alone are one part of comprehensive lifestyle practices to keeping men cancer-free and PSA stable.



Aside from the whole program being most important than some of its parts, some research does support my clinical experience regarding the effect of dietary supplements on stabilizing PSA.



For example:

  • A combination of pomegranate, broccoli, green tea, and turmeric compared to placebo helped lower PSA in men after PSA recurrence after prostate cancer treatment by 63% compared to placebo.

  • When patients with high-grade prostatic intraepithelial neoplasia (HGPIN), a precursor to prostate cancer, were observed, daily green tea extract supplementation for a year decreased serum PSA concentrations compared with placebo in two trials.

  • In combined LUTS and BPH, supplementation with selenium and Milk thistle (silymarin) for 6 months produced a significant reduction in PSA in the intervention group.

  • Lastly, broccoli extract stabilized PSA (increase PSA doubling time by 86% - a good thing) in a group of men with prostate cancer recurrence.
As you know, ImmunoPCTN and GDtoxSel contain all the mentioned ingredients plus more that help keeps you well.



The PSA reduction from nutraceuticals does not seem to be a false positive. In other words, the decline in serum PSA is likely due to some anti-inflammatory and anti-proliferative reasons, not progression of disease despite a decrease in PSA number.



Despite the importance of taking focused dietary supplements to slow down PSA progression and improve longevity, exercise, diet, and the XY Wellness program as a whole are foundational to accomplish such excellent outcomes.

This week I want to share something that often gets overlooked when it comes to hormone health: fat.

For years we were told that fat was “bad” for us, but the truth is, healthy fats are essential for balanced hormones.

Hazelnut-Crusted Salmon

Ingredients
  • 4 salmon fillets
  • 1 cup finely crushed hazelnuts
  • 2 Tbsp coconut flour
  • 2 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp lemon zest
  • Salt + pepper to taste
  • Lemon wedges, for garnish

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, combine crushed nuts, coconut flour, olive oil, lemon zest, salt, and pepper. Mix until crumbly.
  3. Place salmon fillets on the prepared baking sheet.
  4. Press the nut mixture onto the top of each fillet for an even coating.
  5. Bake 12–15 minutes, until salmon flakes easily with a fork and the crust is golden brown.
  6. Serve hot, garnished with lemon wedges.
Tip: Pair this dish with a leafy green salad or roasted veggies for a complete hormone-balancing meal.

Healthy fats aren’t something to fear, they’re something to embrace!

PRIME Act, Supporting Local Food, Proposed Again in the Senate​

Christine Dzujna, Farm-to-Consumer Legal Defense Fund:
“We are happy to report that an important federal meat bill we’ve been tracking, which had been shelved for a time, has now been reintroduced by Representatives Chellie Pingree (D-ME) and Thomas Massie (R-KY).
The Processing Revival and Intrastate Meat Exemption (PRIME) Act is proposed bipartisan legislation that would dramatically reduce barriers for local producers and processors.
It would legalize in-state sales of locally-produced, custom-slaughtered beef, pork, or lamb to consumers, restaurants, hotels, boarding houses, and grocery stores. This would go a long way in decentralizing meat processing in the United States.
Regenerative producers, who raise their livestock with the most humane welfare standards, often must drive their animals long distances; this stresses animals immediately prior to slaughter, impacts the environment, and takes up what could have been productive time at the farm.
In addition, smaller ranches and farms struggle to obtain appointments at slaughter facilities, since larger producers are favored.”

EPA Approves Four New Pesticides That Qualify as PFAS​

“Both Rollins and Kennedy said they were concerned about farm soils being contaminated with the chemicals, called per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, or PFAS—commonly referred to as forever chemicals. ‘We want to end the production of PFAS,’ Kennedy said. ‘Ultimately, I think that’s what we have to do. There’s a lot of pressure on the industry now to stop using it.’


It wasn’t clear which industry Kennedy was referring to, but the pesticide industry, in fact, is moving in the opposite direction—with the help of the Trump administration that Kennedy serves in. Between April and June of this year, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) proposed the approval of four new pesticides that qualify as PFAS based on a definition that is commonly used around the world and supported by experts.
‘What we’re seeing right now is the new generation of pesticides, and it’s genuinely frightening,’ said Nathan Donley, the environmental health science director at the Center for Biological Diversity, who published a paper last year showing pesticides are increasingly fluorinated. Fluorination is the process that creates PFAS.”

“Common chemicals in plastics, personal care products, and food packaging may drive the onset, growth, and spread of breast cancer—the second-leading cause of cancer deaths in women, new research suggests.
Breast cancer is one of the most common and deadly cancers worldwide, causing more than 42,000 deaths in the U.S, with particularly high rates among Black women. Only 5 to 10 percent are inherited, meaning most arise from environmental and lifestyle factors.

Are GMOs Safe? A Molecular Geneticist Speaks Out​

“Professor Michael Antoniou, head of the Gene Expression and Therapy Group at King’s College London, has studied for more than 35 years how genes function and how they are disrupted. His decades of rigorous independent research into the risks of GM foods and glyphosate-based herbicides have raised serious concerns about the safety of these technologies.
In a report he prepared for the Mexican government, as the country attempted to restrict GMO corn imports for health reasons, Professor Antoniou cited ‘a large body of evidence from well-controlled laboratory animal toxicity studies that show evidence of harm to multiple physiological systems’ from toxic agents found in GM corn.
In this interview, Antoniou explains that the health risks of GM corn and its associated pesticides arise from three main sources: Bt insecticidal proteins engineered into the plants, DNA damage caused by the genetic modification process itself, and pesticides used on the crops.”

Biology’s “Mirror Organisms”— And Their Catastrophic Dangers​

“Life forms built from left-handed DNA and RNA could threaten Earth’s plants, animals, and insects.
Synthetic biologists can alter the genes of microbes, plants, and animals to give them new abilities, with wide-ranging applications in medicine, agriculture, and manufacturing.
But one advance in the field has raised special concern: that researchers might develop the ability to create lifeforms from molecules that are mirror images of the building blocks of life. Because the release of such organisms into the environment could be lethal to most life forms, 38 prominent scientists argued in a recent commentary in Science, this line of research should be paused.
Although most experts believe that the development of such organisms is at least 10 years away, Winthrop professor of genetics George Church, a leader in the development of DNA sequencing and synthetic biology, anticipates a much shorter time frame. ‘It’s less than a year,’ he says. ‘It’s already gotten to the point where somebody who is sufficiently mischievous could start with what we’ve already published and run with it.’”

Black Tea Boosts Longevity: Study

By Chauncey Crandall, M.D.

In the long-term U.K. Biobank study of nearly 500,000 men and women, researchers found that compared with people who didn't drink black tea, those who drank two or more cups a day lowered their risk of dying by 9% to 13%.

And it made no difference if they took milk and sugar with their tea, or also drank coffee. These results suggest that black tea, even at higher levels of intake, can be part of a healthy diet.

Although this study can't prove that black tea alone is responsible for extending your life, it does contain compounds that have been linked to reducing inflammation, said lead researcher Maki Inoue-Choi, a staff scientist at the U.S. National Cancer Institute.

"Compounds such as polyphenols and flavonoids have the potential to reduce oxidative stress and inflammation, which protect against cancer, cardiovascular disease, and other health conditions," she said.

The participants in the study were aged 40 to 69, and 89% reported drinking black tea specifically. Researchers also found that drinking black tea reduced the risk of dying from cardiovascular disease, but didn't appear to have the same benefit when it came to deaths from cancer or respiratory disease, Inoue-Choi said.

🧠 Emotional Eating Forensics:
I didn't just experience the emotions of the events this week; I observed the collective response (including my own).
We faced stress, and we did what we humans are biologically designed to do....
We reacted in our patterned stress response.
🐕Fight - Some people were like a chihuahua that became noisy with their opinions. Or a porcupine that showed their spikes to anyone who disagreed with them.
🐢Flight - Some people retreated into their shells like a turtle with alcohol, food, or shopping. Or ran away and escaped like a rabbit.
🦌Freeze - Some people were the deer in the headlights. Completely frozen, not able to focus or work, doom scrolling on social media, and were walking around in a fog.
🐑Fawn - Some people were the sheep and followed the herd. And some people were parrots by repeating what they heard from someone else (typically the news outlet on "their side").
These stress responses spill over. They spill over to our relationships and how we're eating and sleeping this week.
I find it fascinating that we all reacted differently, but those reactions came from the same exact primal place, which is how we responded to the stress of the week.
Including... eating our feelings.
We're truly more alike than we are different.
It's time to start seeing each other as neighbors again.
It's time to start being compassionate to one another again.
It's time to start loving each other again.
We're ALL carrying something.
A little bit of compassion will go a long way.
