Hey there,

The World Health Organization estimates that 1 in 6 cancers worldwide is directly linked to an infection.

Not genetics. Not lifestyle.

An infection.

One that can live inside your body for years… without a single obvious symptom.

But over time…

It weakens your immune system…

Drives up inflammation…

And creates the exact conditions cancer needs to grow.

Most oncologists rarely pay attention to this.

But the research is there.

And once you see it…

The way you think about cancer changes completely.

=> See what the research says about hidden infections and their link to cancer growth

To your health,
Jim

P.S. Once you understand how this drives cancer development…

You'll understand why even the healthiest people can still receive a diagnosis out of nowhere.

=> Discover how hidden infections may be causing cancer cells to grow

You may have heard of Celiac Disease, but there’s another, less obvious condition called Non-Celiac Gluten Sensitivity (NCGS).
Dr. Tom O’Bryan’s report, “10 Facts About Autoimmune Disorders and the Role of Non-Celiac Gluten Sensitivity,” explores how this underdiagnosed condition may silently contribute to autoimmune disease and chronic illness.
Get your copy (and a free ticket to his docuseries) using the image below.
Inside, you’ll discover
  • Why standard testing often misses NCGS
  • How gluten can trigger immune responses beyond the gut
  • What this could mean for chronic conditions like CFS/ME
The shocking thing is NCGS doesn’t always show gut damage.
In fact, many people experience immune and inflammatory reactions in other organs, like the thyroid or nervous system, without ever knowing gluten is involved.
You deserve all the facts. I would start with these ten.
With aligned purpose,
Bobby Cardwell
P.S. Understanding NCGS may be the first step toward identifying hidden triggers for inflammation and autoimmune issues. Get your report here.

Hi Jimi,

There's a kind of exhaustion that goes deeper than physical fatigue or mental burnout. It's the feeling of being fundamentally drained where you’re struggling to get out of bed, disconnected from things that once brought you joy, moving through life but not really living it.

Modern medicine doesn't have great language for this. We focus on what's measurable, our hormones, neurotransmitters, inflammation. But traditional medicine systems have always recognized something deeper: the health of the spirit, or what some call the soul.

When that core part of us becomes depleted, it shows up everywhere, in mood disorders, chronic illness, autoimmune conditions, hormonal imbalances, addiction, and a profound sense of disconnection.

There's a free docuseries produced by our friends at The Sacred Science called Remedy: Ancient Medicine for Modern Illness that explores how healing traditions from around the world have addressed this for thousands of years, primarily through plant medicine.
What I appreciate about this series is that it's practical. Many of the herbs that support spiritual and emotional health can be grown in your own garden. It’s practical, grounded wisdom that's been used effectively for millennia.
If you've been feeling that deeper kind of depletion or if someone you care about has, this series may offer perspective and tools you haven't encountered elsewhere.

🦀 Yeti Crab (Kiwa hirsuta)

The yeti crab lives deep in the ocean near hydrothermal vents, where sunlight never reaches. Its strange “hairy” claws are covered in silky bristles, which create a perfect surface for bacteria to grow. That adaptation is key to how it survives in such an extreme place. Get all the weird details with this quick yeti crab profile.
This crab is essentially “farming” bacteria on those hairy arms and then harvests the bacteria for food. It’s basically growing its own meals in the deep sea. Scientists have described how these crabs position and move their claws to support bacterial growth, then graze on the bacteria as a major energy source. Click for more info and another IMAGE to see why it’s called “yeti”.

Attn: Chronic Disease Victims

Most of us know someone dealing with chronic illness.
And that can mean endless appointments, medications, and unanswered questions.
Too often, people are told to simply “manage” symptoms rather than explore why the body became imbalanced in the first place.
That’s why I’m always interested in projects that look at health through a wider lens.
Remedy: Ancient Medicine for Modern Illness is created by my film collaborator friend Nick Polizzi, and explores the world of plant medicine and traditional healing systems that have supported human health for generations — long before modern pharmaceuticals existed.
It’s not about rejecting modern medicine outright. Just asking deeper questions:
Have we overlooked simple, nature-based approaches that could help support the body in ways we’ve forgotten?
The series dives into herbs, healing traditions, and integrative practitioners working with challenges ranging from chronic inflammation and fatigue to stress, metabolic dysfunction, and neurodegenerative conditions.
There’s a growing recognition that many of the answers we’re searching for may not be found in another synthetic compound… but in reconnecting with how humans lived, ate, and healed for thousands of years.

The New Energy Healing Study, and Why You Should Pay Attention

I’m someone who tries hard to strike a balance between being openminded, and skeptical. As a writer and filmmaker, I am always trying my best to see things through the lens of skeptics, to imagine what objections and doubts they would have for messages and ideas that contradict mainstream ideologies. If something sounds extraordinary, I want to know what the strongest evidence is, what the weak points are, and what a reasonable person could fairly conclude without drifting into hype. That’s the lens I’m trying bring to this new pancreatic cancer study on biofield therapy, otherwise known as “energy healing”.
A brand new paper in Cancer Medicine, involving researchers affiliated with MD Anderson, looked at biofield therapy in pancreatic cancer cell lines and mouse models. What some may consider astonishing… the therapy reduced cell proliferation and invasiveness in several pancreatic cancer cell lines, altered cell voltage potential, affected mitochondrial structure, and inhibited primary tumor growth and liver metastasis in mouse models. The conclusion is that these findings support the potential of biofield therapy to influence cancer growth and metastasis and warrant further investigation.
What’s extremely important to understand is this was not self-reported or even with the potential to dismiss as placebo.

Heavy metals are virtually everywhere.

In the food we eat, the water we drink, and the air we breathe.

And most of us have been accumulating them since birth.

They don't just pass through.

They burrow deep into your organs…

Your brain, your liver, your nervous system, quietly setting up camp.

Over time, that buildup may show up as:

  • Brain fog that won't lift
  • Fatigue that sleep can't fix
  • A memory that doesn't feel as sharp as it used to

But here's something worth knowing:

There's a simple five-ingredient morning smoothie specifically designed to help your body draw out heavy metal buildup naturally.

It takes five minutes to make and tastes incredible.

Get the full recipe here and start your heavy metal detox tomorrow morning

According to the WHO, global cancer cases are expected to rise by 77% by 2050.

When most people hear that, it can feel scary.

And if cancer runs in your family, it can feel like your fate is already“sealed.”

But studies show that only around 5–10% of cancer cases are linked to inherited genetics.

The rest are associated with lifestyle and environmental factors.

Which can affect something most people never even consider:

Your metabolism.

The way your body produces energy every single day.

And when that system becomes disrupted,

it may create an environment that can support abnormal cell activity.

Which is why this way of thinking has been quietly gaining attention.

Because it doesn't rely on extreme treatments or complicated protocols.

It focuses on simple ways to support how your body already works.

And for many…

It completely changes how they look at their health.

Discover how a disrupted metabolism may influence cancer development (and simple ways to address this naturally)

To your health,

Pediatrician and longtime IRT ally Dr. Michelle Perro is sounding the alarm on one of the most urgent food safety issues facing families today. In her latest piece, she breaks down a disturbing new study revealing that a commercially available synthetic milk product — made through precision fermentation — contained hundreds of novel fungal proteins and unidentified metabolites that have never been tested for long-term safety in children.

Her conclusion is clear: our regulatory system was never built for this, and kids cannot afford to be the test subjects.

Dr. Paul Thomas and Michelle Perro, M.D. on Pediatric Perspectives Show 202, weight loss drugs for children.
click to watch this show on Wednesday at 11:30 a.m.

Weight Loss Drugs for Kids with Michelle Perro, M.D.

On this week’s episode of With the Wind, Dr. Paul is joined by Michelle Perro, M.D., integrative pediatrician, environmental medicine specialist, and CEO and founder of GMO Science. With 43 years of clinical experience in pediatrics, Dr. Perro has spent decades studying how food, pesticides, and environmental toxicants affect children’s health — and she brings that expertise directly to the conversation about childhood obesity and the growing use of GLP-1 agonist weight loss drugs in kids.

Childhood obesity now affects an estimated 20% of American children — approximately 14.7 million kids — and the numbers climbed sharply during the pandemic lockdowns. Dr. Perro argues that the primary driver is not simply overeating or inactivity, but a toxic food environment loaded with ultra-processed products, GMOs, and pesticides that disrupt the hormonal systems regulating appetite and metabolism. Every class of pesticide she has reviewed — from organophosphates to glyphosate to organochlorines — functions as an endocrine disruptor, and she believes this chemical load is at the root of the epidemic.

GLP-1 agonist drugs have gained significant traction as a solution. Dr. Perro explains how these drugs work, why they appear effective on paper, and why she has serious reservations about using them in children who are still developing. Among her concerns: no long-term pediatric data, loss of muscle mass with weight regain returning as fat, and documented side effects including gastroparesis, pancreatitis, gallbladder disease, and a black box warning for depression and suicidal ideation. She also flags that a generic version of one of these drugs is available on Amazon without a prescription — a situation she believes is already creating risks in high school settings. The conversation closes with practical, specific guidance for families on food, home cooking, movement, and building the microbiome as the foundation of lasting change.

“On paper, those drugs look amazing. All kinds of health benefits, cardiovascular benefits, brain health benefits. They’re the best thing since sliced bread. But, Paul, as you and I know, there’s no magic bullet for this.” — Michelle Perro, M.D.
In this episode, Dr. Perro discusses:

  • Why ultra-processed foods, GMOs, and pesticides are suppressing natural GLP-1 production and driving insulin resistance in children
  • What GLP-1 agonist drugs are, how they work, and the specific risks she has identified for use in developing bodies
  • The AAP’s 2022 guidance recommending weight loss drugs for children as young as eight — and the 65% rise in pediatric prescribing since 2023
  • Why eating organic removes the endocrine-disrupting chemicals she considers the core of the obesity problem
  • Practical family strategies: batch cooking, involving kids in the kitchen, fiber-rich foods, microbiome support, and movement as a shared family activity

Only 5 to 10% of cancer cases are linked to inherited genetics.
Which means that when cancer appears across generations in a family, it is almost never because of the genes being passed down. It is because of the terrain being passed down.
The same household environment. The same dietary patterns. The same stress dynamics. The same toxin exposures. The same unresolved emotional patterns that influence immune function in ways researchers are still working to fully document.
Families share biology, yes. But more significantly, they share the conditions that either support or undermine the body's ability to prevent cancer from developing.
Understanding this changes the conversation entirely. It means cancer risk is not a fixed inheritance. It is a set of modifiable conditions.
Dr. Michael Karlfeldt's free mastercourse, The Anti-Cancer Body, is built around exactly this idea. What creates the internal terrain where cancer either develops or does not, and what can change it.

If you've been told your blood pressure is high and the answer was "cut back on salt, lose some weight, and take this medication" — that explanation leaves a lot out.

High blood pressure usually isn't caused by one thing. It's often the result of a deeper breakdown in how the body is functioning. Nutritional deficiencies, insulin resistance, chronic inflammation, poor sleep, and ongoing stress are all common drivers that most doctors don't connect back to blood pressure.

The good news is that most of those root causes are modifiable. When you address what's actually pushing the numbers up, the body often starts to regulate more normally on its own.

I put together a full breakdown of the root causes and the natural strategies backed by research:

There is more conflicting advice about diet and cancer than almost any topic in health.
Keto. Vegan. Low carb. Plant-based. Every approach has advocates and studies and success stories.
But most of that conversation is asking the wrong question.
The question is not which diet is best. The question is what is your food doing to the internal environment your cells are living in. Because cancer does not grow in a healthy cellular environment. It grows in terrain that has been disrupted by inflammation, metabolic dysfunction, and the specific fuel sources that cancer cells depend on.
Some foods create that terrain. Others systematically dismantle it. And most people, even the health-conscious ones, are eating a combination of both without knowing which is which.
Dr. Michael Karlfeldt's free mastercourse, The Anti-Cancer Body, includes an entire module on metabolic nutrition specifically designed to address cancer terrain. Not a diet plan. A framework for understanding what food is actually doing at the cellular level.

Pesticides Kill Birds, Bats, and Infants

It’s a vicious cycle:

Birds and bats eat insects contaminated with pesticides. Pesticide poisoning kills birds and bats.

With fewer birds and bats consuming less insects, more insecticides are used to address the growing pest problem. The more insecticides are used, the more human babies are exposed, and infant mortality rises.

Congress could fix this, but instead it’s using the Farm Bill to deregulate pesticides and pay farmers to increase their use.

Infant Mortality Rises With Insecticide Use

A study that looked at bats, insecticide use, and infant mortality from 2006-2017 found that, after bat die-offs, on average, farmers increased insecticide use by 31.1 percent, and infant mortality rates increased by 7.9 percent—that’s an additional 1,334 infants.

Insecticides Kill Birds

A third of North America’s bird population—about 3 billion birds—has disappeared since 1970. From 1987 to 2021, half of all bird species diminished significantly, while one quarter are declining at an accelerated pace.

Birds are disappearing the fastest in agricultural regions, indicating that insecticides are to blame, and, in fact, insecticide residues in birds’ nests correlate with dead offspring and unhatched eggs.

Insecticides Kill Bats

More than half of bat species in North America are at risk of severe declines over the next 15 years.

When bats eat pesticide-contaminated insects, the poisoning can reach toxic levels in their brains — making them more susceptible to the deadly fungal disease white-nose syndrome.

Less Birds and Bats Means More Insecticides

Birds reduce crop damage from insect pests, significantly increasing crop yield. Globally, birds consume 28 million tons of insects from agricultural landscapes each year.

Bats are even more important biological control agents. In addition to managing pest populations, bats are pollinators. In fact, they are the only nocturnal insect predator and one of just two nocturnal pollinators (alongside moths). Bat population declines are costing American farmers as much as $495 million each year.

TAKE ACTION: Congress Is Using the Farm Bill to Increase Pesticide Use. Tell Them to Do the Opposite!

Find your county: This map documents the widespread extent of agricultural pesticide usage for 14 of the most harmful organophosphate pesticidesis.

CULTIVATING CULTURE

The Indigenous Food Pyramid To Make Native America Healthy Again

by Shaun Griswold, Native News Online:

“The Indigenous Food Pyramid is an acrylic canvas painting from artist Joeseph Arnoux (Piikani/Sp’q’n’i), developed with the editorial staff at Cultivating Culture to present a view on the relationship between new federal nutritional policies and Indigenous Food Sovereignty practices.

The pyramid is a way to talk about reporting by journalists at Cultivating Culture that shows how tribal sovereignty and food are intertwined to resolve disjointed conflicts shaped by contradictions from generations of United States trust and treaty policies with Native Americans.

This includes journalism about returning salmon in Nez Perce, traditional food baskets in Zuni Pueblo, Wind River buffalo increasing student attendance, land management conflicts on hunting grounds for The Five Civilized Tribes, or how Native-owned restaurants increase capital for cultural presence in front of international audiences.”

The Indigenous Food Pyramid has 27 items that all have an impact on cultural and nutritional health that happen to line up with the federal standard, while standing apart through tribal self-determination and land practices.

The EU Wants to Deregulate GMOs. Geneticist Sends Out Alarm

The EU is quietly moving toward a major shift in how genetically modified foods are regulated, and most people have no idea it’s happening.

In this eye opening interview from GMWatch, Professor Michael Antoniou, an Emeritus Professor of Molecular Genetics and Toxicology at King’s College London, sits down to explain what the EU’s proposed New Genomic Techniques regulation actually means for the food on your plate.

A whole new category of GMO crops could soon enter the market without safety testing, without traceability, and without labels.

Professor Antoniou breaks down why the precision of tools like CRISPR is being oversold, how even a single genetic edit can set off a chain of unintended changes in a plant’s chemistry, and why once these organisms are released into the environment, there is no taking them back.

He also takes on the “we need GMOs to feed the world” argument, pointing out that global hunger is rooted in poverty and inequality, not a shortage of food.

TAKE ACTION: Tell Sec. Kennedy: GMOs Should Not Be GRAS (Generally Recognized as Safe)!
