Well I am not quite sure how happy I am with it but it is what it is unless I want to sand it down and start over and I am not that unhappy with it...LOL. I think if i had kept it in there for a full 24 hrs instead of 10 it would have lightened up considerably.
But overall not too bad for my first time trying.

Looks good. I like that you left the end caps copper. Really nice.

The greens really pop on that bad boy, what did you do for the patina, and what did you use to clear it?

it was actually a long process i did, i used a mix of miracle grow and amonia in a spray bottle, sprayed the bottom of the chamber with that and put some pink himalayan rock salt in the botom. sprayed the mod and lightly salted it. turned every few hours a quater turn, ligh spray and more salt. did this for a few days until it was caked, and let it sit some more. once the whole thing was covered in almost completly with patina, i washed off the salt and let dry. then i took a dremel with a wire wheel and randomly took off spots of patina. back in the chamber it went like that, with nothing in the bottom except pure ammonia and let that sit for a few days, turning occasionally. for clear i did 4 coats of rustoleum crystal clear enamel, then i let sit for 24 hours, wet sand with 600 grit, two more coats, let sit a couple days, then polished with a marine/rv cleaner wax. i cant wait til you see the smpl mod, it came out so sick, just like this but crazier

in person it looks alot darker and deeper, the flash and clearcoat down play well together. im getting away from rda's and going to tanks mostly, cept my plume veil, which i love, so i wanna trade it away. the mod though, i dont think i could ever part with. my 4nine is cookin in the chamber right now. i think im addicted to doing this

Go down to your local hydroponics store, or chemical retailer and get some copper chlorate, not chloride. If you want green, you will get it with a 10% solution. DO NOT use ammonia with this type of combo, HS Chemistry...

just started on a new patina. did a light blue patina on it, now put a thin layer of pearl on it as well. Next it will be headed into clear coat and sanding stage. Ill post some more pics once it gets it first few layers of clear on it.

its really has a lot of glare right now due to the green pearl i put on top of the patina, hard to see the pearl on it until i clear coat it.

Thanks Taver! I decided to drop another layer of Pearl on it, gave it a silver green pearl gloss to it, you can still see the patina and the copper peaking through though. Cant wait to start glassing it now.

What brand of flake do you use? For the Pearls and Flake I only use Testors.

Yeah the pics do no justice for the atty. That sumbitch is sick in person and vapes as good as it looks. I've got a 1.4 ohm build in it and she's chucking a decent cloud and great flavor. Thanks for an awesome atty @ Taver13!

It started out looking almost cheetah spotted this color blue with copper still showing through, I almost took it out then. Then a little farther along the spots turned to streaks like a zebra. Wondering what it'd look like if I put it back in another 8 hours. I'd say not bad for first time!

put a couple dabs of mustard spotted all over then throw it back in the chamber with just ammonia, it will look awesome

IKR! I got the atty from this really awesome guy I know. I had done a patina on this one before and I am sort of sorry I took it off as it was way cool. looked like an old world map. Need to see if I can find a picture of it

Found it!



this was done with nothing more than water and a the extra strong polident tablet. I had read about using denture cleaner so figured I would give it a try. Psh, fail wrong picture lol. Let me try this again.
