How could one see a coherent/laser beam in space unless they were on the receiving end of it?
And I am talking about a visible spectrum laser.

Cromwell's thought provoking question of the day.

Hmmmm... maybe we should move there. After this morning's low of -20 ºF, we got all the way up to +1 ºF for our high (for about 5 minutes) and, at the moment, are now -6 ºF and going down.
Damn.....

It was chilly here this morning, but hit 70F this afternoon....I think the cold front has passed.....:vino:

If I was a... what do you call those folks with the motorhomes that live in two places?... Ah, SNOWBIRD! So if we had money and were not nailed down here by having all these critters, we could do winter at your place and summer at ours and be toasty all year. :)
Yep, you certainly could. Perhaps it's time for a livestock-cat auction?........:teehee:

Actually, those temps (focused on the village of Faith) are a few degrees higher than our point forecast (based on Latitude/longitude of my exact location).
I figured weather.com were in the guessers ballpark......

Regardless of a couple degrees here, there....it's one COLD SOB....!

Does March usually come in like a lion, out like a lamb?

Or just another cold SOB-ing month?
We have cold temps like this every year, but not usually so many continuous days of such cold (goes cold, cold, warmer, warmer, colder, cold, warmer). March, sadly, comes in as wet and cold, which makes it hard to get the garden ready to plant. Sometimes that drags over into April and sometimes even May, in which case there are some things that you might as well not plant because the growing season will be too short. First freeze is guaranteed in September.

Yup. But, occasionally, Spring arrives the end of March, just like the calendar says, and the TroyBilt throws dirt all around the garden and Lannie plants stuff everywhere and everybody gets happy and Summer thunderstorms keep everything well watered and... and... well, OK, the world isn't perfect every year, but once in a while.......

I'm planting my garden here a month early, hopefully in the next couple weeks. Last year the sun destroyed half my crops (cooked on the stalks). If we didn't have these nutty wind storms, I'd shade the garden, but the shade wouldn't last long with 50 mph wind gusts in the spring (and summer).

Have a bunch of Cacao trees to plant between the bananas in EC....the cacao needs shade, the bananas provide it. Last week I went to a Cacao plantation, I couldn't believe how well cacao does when planted amongst bananas. Hope the GF gets um in the ground next week.

Thunderstorm downrush wind?

That stuff is really good for you.

Well, long past my bedtime, so I'm gonna go find my pillow and snuggle Teddy, or Tigger, or Peanut, or Willy, or....... Later, dude. :)

When I was visiting Cotopaxi (volcano) a couple weeks ago they had what I thought was Cacao leaf tea in a little restaurant at the base of the volcano,...Nope, it was Coca leaf tea, which supposedly helps height sickness. Hell, I was so fucked up, only made it to the snow line at about 14,500 ft, according to my altimeter watch. Still had another 5,000 ft to the top, which didn't happen. I was laughing my ass off in the truck, watching other folks wading through the snow. After the tea wore off, I left.....:giggle:

:D At least it helps you not care that you can't breathe well because higher altitudes have thinner air. I have been up to 13,250 with no problem, but was only there for a couple hours. Usually, those who live at sea level (or are altitude adjusted to something like 2,500 MSL or less) get sick at anything above 7,000 ft. if there for an extended period. I have driven through 10,000 (southern UT) and 12,000 (Rocky Mountain National Park, CO) and the carbureted Jimmy acted like it was suffocating.
Yup, you know the gig from living in Tucson.
And here. And Illinois. And central Orygun. Same story for just about anywhere that routinely has large thunderstorms.

Was kinda surprised I didn't have any problems breathing, perhaps quiting the smokes years ago helped?....:)

Doubt I would have made it another 5K feet tho, unless I reupped on the coca leaf tea, perhaps.....:teehee:

I didn't think anyone was going to show up here tonight, so I was just about to log off and hit the sack.

So, how's life in a warm state? :)

It was partly cloudy, about 70-ish....decent day tho. Was going to hit Home Depot for some mater & pepper plants, but didn't make it. They had the 101 freeway closed heading east, took me a fucking hour and a half to drive 25 miles. I can't believe their widening the damn freeway again, they just added two more lanes a couple years ago....:headbang:

One would think it would be MUCH cheaper to add four lanes the last time, instead of setting up MILES of Jersey Barriers, moving light poles, extending culverts, and tearing everything all to hell again.....

Rich, were the weather guessers fairly correct with that nasty forecast?
I think the one you posted yesterday said +1/-10 20% chance of snow, wind 12 mph. Our high was +2 I think (+3 for 30 seconds), -10 this morning but only -5 at the moment. It snowed lightly this morning and this evening and winds were fairly consistent all day at 10-15 mph. So I guess they managed to get pretty close to real life.

May as well say it's just fucking nasty.

I just tried it by replacing the "e" in "home" with another "o" and it does censor it. Apparently we can say fuck shit damn etc, but must be PC when discussing the LGBTwhatevers.
