Pretty nice here today, but you wouldn't believe the BS... totally overcast and windy, so I took the TroyBilt out to the horse pasture to do more mowing. After about an hour, I stopped to pick up a big plum branch, walked about 10 feet away from the mower, and the damn engine blew up. Glad I wasn't sitting on it. I heard a pop, saw pieces flying off the engine, then it put out a huge puff of smoke and died. Walked back to the house and got Lannie to come out and steer it while I towed it back to the shop. I have no idea what happened or why. I mowed another hour on the CubCadet, then parked it for dinner and the thunderstorm and rain started. What a nasty day. Why does every machine I own blow up?

Noticed the last few days have been hell on the melons....for some reason the sun is burning the leaves all to hell. I would think since the days are getting shorter and fall is near, they would be doing better. Possibly cus the sun is heading toward the south again and we're getting more direct sun?

Can't even find our garden -- the weeds are up to six feet tall in places (waaaay too much rain). I MUST find some time to get out there and pull all that crap.
What kind of weeds, that shit you were talking about last year which has extensive roots?....was it knotweed?

Lannie can name every plant on this property. I don't bother to memorize them; if they are a plant in a place where it doesn't belong, it is a weed and I have it pull it out. These things are tall stalks with leaves close to the stalk and bluish/purplish flowers and they are blocking the access to the tomato pots.

You planted the matters in pots and the weeds are taking over?

Because the pots sit on dirt, the weeds grow in the dirt around the pots (some IN the pots) and when we try to water with a sprinkler, it makes ALL the dirt wet, so whether rain or sprinkler, the weeds are being watered.

Hiya Woofy! It has been so long since I threw any biscuits, I forgot we used to do that. Come by more often and maybe we can get a few of those to stick to the ceiling. ;)
Hi, Draconigena
:teehee: Glad I kicked your memory into gear ;) . @Jimi passed on though and didn't throw a biscuit or two :( . Maybe next time the Bear will have some jam to make the biscuits stick, that is...if he don't eat it all :teehee: . Here's another throw, you might want to move b4 it hits you in the head.

@inspects I don't know how you live in such a hot place with little to no ran

@Draconigena, well, you two just can't get rid of the rain and all your poor animals going through a tough time; give them a big  from me. And, to you and Lannie for taking good care of them. I hope they get better soon and the rain will stop.

Zipper (Dobie) going to vet Monday or Tuesday because we do not have whatever drug she needs for her stomach problem. No rain today (YEA!) so I finished mowing the weeds in the horse pasture. I'll start on the cow pasture Monday or Tuesday (whichever day is not the day we go to the vet, who is 76 miles away (one way)).

Don't know if Jimi has any jam left for the biscuits, but I think there might be some leftovers here if he doesn't. :)

The sun is beginning to head south, and it's destroying my melon patch.....burning the leaves all to hell. Need to shade it I guess or all the water I've given it will be a waste.

Be a real shame to loose them, my garden didn't do squat compared to usual but just had a big bowl of cucumbers, onions and shaved beets in braggs , herbs, EVO and a dab of honey

Dug through the vines last night, damn my two pineapples are growing like hell, I was shocked to see new pineapples on top of the original stalks...guess the shade from the melon vines are keeping them going.

FDA Approves Boxed Warning About Increased Risk of Blood Clots and Death with Higher Dose of Tofacitinib (Xeljanz, Xeljanz XR)

July 26, 2019 -- The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has approved new warnings about an increased risk of blood clots and of death with the 10 mg twice daily dose of tofacitinib (Xeljanz, Xeljanz XR), which is used in patients with ulcerative colitis.
Unbelievable.....must be a fantastic new big-pharma poison, 10mg is enough to turn the lights off.....

I HEAR THAT ONE, JIMI! Have a good sleep. But we have to work on a common dream where you and Dale and I all get on our old dirt bikes and race our YOUNG bodies casually and without pain.
I'm up for that, I'll even buy the bikes, since I haven't had one in years, but wish I did, especially in the winter.
