Well, my head is so sleepy right now, it wants to fall face-first on the keyboard, so I'm gonna put my body to bed and if that head has any sense whatsoever, it will follow along, and maybe I can cut the Zzzzs until Lannie shakes my ass awake in a few hours and pours some Grog in my pie hole to wake me back up again, get me wired enough to point my ass at the barns to feed them lazy-ass cows and horses...

To make a long (and boring) story short, Goodnight old pharts.

Oh, and Jimi or Dale, don't forget to turn the lights out. ;)

Maybe it's the time of year (weather) or some poison they have released to better control us

Then I'm tired as hell in the morning, without a spoon full of Kratom.

After threatening by tweet to veto the bill, Congress’s trillion-dollar, two-year budget proposal was signed into law without including a crucial provision that may have saved millions lives. The Cole- Bishop Amendment was initially included in the 2,232-page document, but the provision was seemingly removed before Trump signed the bill into law.

The current regulations state than any vaping product released for sale into the public market after February 15, 2007, must undergo an extensive Pre-Market Tobacco Application (PMTA) process. Gaining approval will involve enormous amounts of bureaucratic red tape, take months if not years to obtain, and could cost retailers in upwards of $1 million per product. The Cole-Bishop Amendment would have moved this predicate date forward to August 8, 2016.

Damn .. that sucks! I was hoping it would turn out better than that for you guys. Let's hope things change before they get nasty.

Evening Ryedan

Hey Jimi, nice to see ya tonight. Been getting online late the last couple of days.

I have a hell of a time getting to sleep then sleep an hour or two and wake up and can't get back to sleep

I go that way too sometimes. If it takes me more than an hour to get back to sleep I know I'm better off to get up and read for a while. That usually does it for me but sometimes it just doesn't and I have a very tired day.

The sleeping pills I get they said would stop a train and two at a time just barely does it for me.
Yeh, I know exactly what you mean.....red kratom is very relaxing tho, and a natural plant.

Every once in a while when I really need to get to sleep for the next day I take an antihistamine, the ones that make you a bit drowsy. As long as I don't do that more than once a week that always does it for me. Most times I only resort to that about monthly.

Like you said, reading is probably the best alternative.

Never did. Started at 12 years old, then took a break for a couple years, then started again in basic training and never put them down until after vaping for a couple months (2 years 7 months ago). Fifty+ years of Camels should have given me lung cancer - or so they say - but it didn't even make me hack. And today, I'm being a good boy around those who still smoke. If I can't handle it, I walk away a few steps, but I will not condemn them for doing what I did most of my life.

You can certainly be an Old Phart Supremacist if that makes you happy. I think once we become Old Pharts, we can do pretty much whatever we like, within the *ahem* law. If we didn't have random drug testing at my work, I might even do a thing or two that would be outside the law. But that's another conversation. As it stands, I haven't smoked any happy backy since I was 21.

Maybe I didn't express myself well. I'm actually not one of those obnoxious ex-smokers. I give my husband a hard time about smoking sometimes because I am really worried about his health. He has lifelong sinus issues, and sometimes coughs until he makes himself sick. And I don't know if he just doesn't know how, but his breathing does not sound right to me. I learned a long time ago, through yoga when I was younger, how to breathe deeply into my lower abdomen, so my breathing is quiet and slow. He breathes into the top of his chest, and it often sounds like he is just gasping for breath. It worries me half to death sometimes, and he won't listen when I try to tell him that it's healthier for him to try to change the way he breathes. For god's sake, I'm trying to help him.

He should give me a hard time about eating, because I have a serious weight problem. Sometimes he says something, most times not. He is more likely to comment that I am not active enough, but even that is very infrequently. Obviously he and I feel a little differently about our responsibilities toward each other. Sometimes we have to agree to disagree; both of us are apparently unwilling to do some of the things that cause us to be in pain.

When I did smoke, once it became well known how badly it bothered people who didn't, I tried to be considerate. Obviously it's been a long time since we could smoke inside at work. I tried very hard not to smoke in the car if I was riding with people who didn't smoke. There were a few times on long driving trips when I did ask if I could smoke occasionally, but I would crack a window and hold my hand where the smoke would be pulled out the window.

Apparently smoke in a vehicle does not bother my husband when he is driving alone, even with all the windows up. That was never the case with me - even when I smoked, I couldn't stand it when smoke would build up in the car, so I always rode with a window cracked just a little. I say something to him about that now, and I'd have said something about it even then, because it was just stifling to me. I mean, I'm in the car, too.

Note that he is quick to say something to me about vaping in the car while he's in there with me. He hates it when I vape juices that smell sweet. Told me my Tiramisu juice "stinks like burnt fudge." Turn about is fair play here. I'll crack a window.

Ok, that's way too much of all that.

So good morning, Old Pharts. Have a wonderful day. I'm working at home today, in about an hour and a half. Need meds, coffee, breakfast, and have to start a load of laundry.

Have you tried the melatonin? It's not a cure-all but for getting to sleep at the "normal time", the stuff is an absolute godsend. I've slept better for the last couple weeks since starting it, than I have in YEARS. DECADES.

Hey old pharts! Just a quick post to throw a couple biscuits at ya! I wish work would slow its pace but it's not. I'm having a hard time since I'm not use to working all these hours after being diagnosed. No whining though. I need to fight though this. Years ago, I could do 60 hours a week and not blink twice about it. I'm off. You all have a great day!

Thanks Andria. Yes I have and it does help some but not enough, I sometimes have to take a couple ambien 10 mg. to get some sleep and then it's iffy.
