Good job man. Looks better than my triple coresMy first attempt on fancy coil building. Though these aren’t fancy per the forum standards

I beg to differ - those are fantastic! I can make 3 core aliens all day long, but STILL can't make a 3 core fused Claptons to save my life. Just can't seem to keep the cores from bunching up for some reason. My first attempt on fancy coil building. Though these aren’t fancy per the forum standards

Dude ... 38 is HARD to work with if your not used to it. That is fantastic!! My first 3 core I had to smack them with a ball been hammer to flatten them out lmao!My first attempt on fancy coil building. Though these aren’t fancy per the forum standards

Meg put up a video somewhere (I THINK it was in this thread?!?) showing someone's (don't remember who) technique for multi-round-core builds. It's the only way I do it now. As a matter of fact my cotter pin hardly ever comes out of my drill. Just some 18g galvanized steel I bent to shape. I use it for almost everything. Even for stagging ribbon stacks, and big ol fat builds where I just float the ribbon and use whatever round cores there are to attach to the pin. Every once in a while I'll pull it to clean off the clippings that cling to it lolJust can't seen to keep the cores from bunching up for some reason

Found the video -
Well I tried lol. Was supposed to be a hedgehog ... But even with goggles I couldn't see well enough to find the right stretch. Para-40g is bulky and springy from a 35g decore. Finding aliens from micro decores isn't to bad. But getting peaked variations is hard af!
40g interlock over 6 ply .3/28 cores

Well I can do bigger hedgehogs, like decoreing from 30g or lower. And I probably should not have done interlocks ... would have made it much more manageable.Hedgehogs are hard ;-;
Dangit, I just thought of that last week and yet you beat me to it!
Simple fuseds with a parrelel on the 30mm warhead

Im all over the place with wire on this one

How ironic! I was digging through my graveyard and ran across my old Aromamizer Supreme (the old one) and wondered if it would work on a tube and chose the same type of build...26/36N80 in parallel with a single strand of 26ga N80
Fits flush on my old Broadside and no leaks and still vapes like a champ...who’d’ve thunk it.
Do things by the book...just be sure that you are the author
Art. Those coil mashups. Amazing buildLet's SSFC our SSFC
Got about 4 inches ... trying to decide if I coil it or do something fancy with it.
Inner - 6 ply .3, 28/42 ... Outer - 2x 2 ply .45, .43(~25.5g)/38

I can't figure out how to get enough light to the face of my subject when doing super tight macro. My phone has to be so damn close ...Made a Double Frame Stagg, thought I'd share some shots of the WirePorn
6 x .4R/12ply x .3R/42g
Dont shine it directly on your subject, put your subject directly next to a piece of paper and have the light reflect off the paper onto your subject. This will also decrease the hot spots of lighting and make more detail stand out.I can't figure out how to get enough light to the face of my subject when doing super tight macro. Yah I use white printer paper to defuse. I just can't figure out how to get light into that tight space between the macro lens and the wire so you can see into it, reference my last picture. I even made a lightbox, and use multiple 75w daylight bulbs, hoping that would help. But the shadows inside still linger.Dont shine it directly on your subject, put your subject directly next to a piece of paper and have the light reflect off the paper onto your subject. if you have any kind of magnifying lens/loupe, just press your phones camera hole against the center of the lens. the phone can autofocus through it fine, as long as you are not too close. i had a little folding one that was nothing special, and it let me get a couple inches closer to the subject of the photo and stay in focus. then i would just crop out the atomizer and coils and it would make for an ok pic.I cannot get the shots I want with this camera though.
nice work. i still need to get my hands on the corrugation tool and try that out. i particularly like the third, installed coil shot. you skipped two fuses in the perfect fucking spot and it looks like the coil is frowning at usTried a corrugated tonight
holy shiiiiit you savage! This is a staggerton variation that I already tried posting once, but this one is mo betta.

Awesome! That’s the kind of build I’m trying to practice towards, I love asymmetric staggers. Really cool man! Get a magnifying glass or something though! Lol. I think we should have a fundraiser so everyone can get a clip on macro for their phones!
Thanks @mach1ne!!! Thanks @chrisakasparky!!! It’s not a mind blowing build but it’s a little bit of an accomplishment for me because I tend to lean more towards the alien variations then staggered variations but I’m trying to get better and ya know it’s one build at a time, just inching out outside the comfort zone. I appreciate you guys!
Well your corrugated build looks great to me, you pull off some really really sweet builds. You’re a guy who really made me notice your improvement from when I first started posting on this forum to now! Btw I used 38g and .5 ribbon. Looked like it was gonna get wonky on me at a certain point. Thank God for nylon pliers.Right there with ya, I’m always doing aliens, sometimes braiding, and hardly ever staggering. But I’ve watch a few good videos and have had my ears open for advice so I’m ready to push it in a new direction.
Yah 36 is pretty beefy for for stagger fusing with any ribbon involved. It puts a ton of tension on the cores and causes the ribbon to want to split and/or roll. I found that 38 was the sweet spot for me when learning to stagger fuse. It was big enough to not feel like you don't have control of it, but small enough that it wasn't pulling my cores apart all the time.I was gonna fuse that coil with 36g SS, but it kept pulling the stick apart. I tried fusing with 40g Kd and it fixed that problem. These stagger builds make 36g feel huge.. I wish master of clouds sold 40g wholesale
One of my favorite builds!! Fun to make and a fantastic vape. I've never tried to vape 36 interlocks. I would imagine they are pretty warm eh?Interlocking Aliens...36 over 3x26 NiCh80

Ok, I've been staring at this for a couple minutes now. Even though I can't do it myself, I can usually at least figure out how somebody else did it. Not with this one.Close-up of the Interlocking Alien wire...

You do a parallel Clapton like with a stagger. But leave both Clapton wires on for your parallel decore. Then stretch and alien as usual. With quite a bit more tension I might add. And slow and easy does it. Then voila! Interlocking Aliens!Ok, I've been staring at this for a couple minutes now. Except that both decores must have been fed at the same time. Do you sort of twist it together beforehand or something?
AHA! I wouldn't have thought of that. You do a parallel Clapton like with a stagger. But leave both Clapton wires on for your parallel decore. Then stretch and alien as usual. With quite a bit more tension I might add. And slow and easy does it. Then voila! Interlocking Aliens!

They stay together. I just stretch carefully and feed slowly while I'm spinning them.AHA! I wouldn't have thought of that.
They stay together like that when you stretch them? Apparently so because there it is, but in my head it seems like the two decores wouldn't stay consistent while stretching them. Or actually after their stretched. Like they'd separate.
