This time of year it’s all about the bowls which are college football games with teams based on how they performed during the year. Teams are usually playing teams they would not play during the season due to their conference affiliation.
The BLINDSQUIRRELS are playing the Tennessee Volunteers in the Cheez it’s citrus bowl. (Fuck Tennessee). Corporate sponsorship of bowl games has nearly ruined what bowl games were meant to be. There used to be a small number of bowl games and teams needed to have a very good record to be considered. Now there are so many bowl games because $$$$ talks and to find enough teams to fill all of the slots they are now taking teams with losing records. This year there are a couple of teams with 5-7 records in bowl games.
players are now able to just up and leave a team for another team without any real repercussions using what they call the transfer portal in conjunction with NIL(name, image, likeness) which is a way to pay 18 year old kids by letting corporations pay them to advertise their product.
Conferences that have been around for decades are falling apart as teams are jumping to other conferences because of TV revenue.
all of this has happened very quickly and is really ruining college football…in my opinion….which is shared by many.
