Morning knuckles...

Good thing taking some rest time doggy. Don't burn yourself out trying to care for her, hopefully things will start looking up soon.

Today is my weekend. Crazy work hours. Time to catch up on everything I suppose. Smooches y'all

Morning, knuckles!

Up early getting ready for school hours, I have to get back into the habit......lol Also up because I was thinking about Jimmy and wanted to text him for a safe trip to Pittsburgh and for good test results. Hopefully, I'll be posting later with some decent news.

Taking Mike for coffee at a new place down the road because it's his last day of vacation and then I'm off to the school to tackle my room........I hope after 3 days of this, I might be able to enjoy a long weekend before the madness starts.

Enjoy your "weekend", @always9988 Where are you working? It seems like you are working a lot these days.

You have to give yourself those days @DogMan . You won't be any good for her if you don't take care of yourself, too. Does she seem to be eating any better, though?

Those weekends sure do go fast, @2pak2zero . I hope you have a good week!

Working at Great clips, not sure if that's a thing outside of Ohio or not. Chain salon that only does haircuts, doing 5-6 days a week there and my days off are usually spent helping my uncle with his business.

Won't be doing this much too much longer, but for now need to save up every penny I can to move forward

I think you have me sold on it and I have picked out the fryer I want. Don't know what I am waiting for. Finances never really get much better and I always find a way to "make it work".
Honestly I was afraid that I was spending money on another gadget that I would use a few times and then put away, but I was wrong. I ended up getting a second one because the first one wasn't big enough, and many if not most nights I have them both going at once. There are a couple of FB groups with tons of great recipes and hints and lot's of help to get you started.

I have stomach troubles and a lot of foods don't agree with me at all, I'm finding that cooking in the AF seems to take care of that. Be sure to pick up a couple of oil misters, not PAM, to fill with your favorite oils to spray on things you want fried. The aerosol cooking sprays will leave a residue and eventually ruin the non stick because they contain silicone. I use light olive oil, clear cooking coconut oil, and avacado oil.

I keep reading that the Phillips, which is top recommendation onlline, smokes if you cook high fat meat in it, my Farberware warns about smoking if cooking high fat meats as well, but I have had no problem with Chicken wings, legs, and thighs. Apparently this does not apply to all though because many are cooking sausage and bacon with great results and no smoke in other brands. There are some concerns about the nonstick flaking so you do have to be very careful of it, but some are starting to change over to ceramic nonstick, so far only one has that I know of and it's Paula Deen's on Evine, but others are planning to release new ones this fall.

OK end of infomercial. lol

Steph I hope you get good news from your brother, Dog I'm sorry your mum is having health issues, and 22 I hope K's pain goes away soon.

I read this after I ordered one. I hope I can care for it well enough not to need a ceramic based one in the future!! Even if the coating is damaged, it should still be good to use, right? Also, I did read about parchment paper liners that help with clean up and that might help save the coating?

I forgot to get an oil mister. Hopefully I can get one locally without going to one of those specialty shops. Not only are they too expensive, I get tempted by way too many shiny things! I think I was a ferret in another life!

Hey, guys............I just got a call from my brother. He had a longer appt. with the doctor than he expected. When they discovered the kidney tumor they removed it AND the kidney it was attached to. He sees a kidney specialist twice a year because he only has 1 remaining.........Well, the scans showed "a low density area" on the remaining kidney. Up until now, everything with that kidney looked normal and doctors were very impressed with it's 100% functioning......so, now he has to go tomorrow to get an ultra sound of that kidney tomorrow morning. It may be nothing.....It may be something....He should know something by Wed. or Thurs. (he hopes). I'm a mess. I was good with him on the phone and then I totally lost it when I hung up. I'm good now, but will ask for even more prayers that it is nothing to be concerned about.

OK, so take a deep breath. This may be nothing as you stated. You can start worrying when you know something definitive. I know, I know, this is easier said than done. Just keep praying. I know I will.

Lots of health issues recently. My step dad (raised me) had a stroke yesterday. Talked with him late last night a bit. He was slow and struggled for some words, but overall a big improvement from earlier.
Good, healing thoughts all around from SLC.

So sorry to hear this. I seem to keep saying these words, but I mean it sincerely. I am glad he is already improving. That is a very good sign (from my limited experience). Prayers for you and your family. This is a big scare.

You have to give yourself those days @DogMan . You won't be any good for her if you don't take care of yourself, too. Does she seem to be eating any better, though?

no :(

she's arguing with te doctors, who say tey won't release her from acute ward until she eats, she insists force feeding is unhealthy

Quack has good taste! Mom needs to eat and learn how to manage her diabetes. You may tell her that I have so ordered!! LOL. I am certain she will really give a good rat's behind about that! Mom's are special people but they can be very hard headed. I know.

Oye.........Sounds like your mum is giving them a run for their money! I do hope she starts eating though, it will make her recovery quicker.

Glad that quack loves the new duds! ;-)

morning knucks

tuesday was good, i think you'll like it

mum has an infection, which explains the confusion shes experiencing

This could totally explain it. Mike's dad would get so bad and very argumentative. We would ask if they tested him for a UTI and they would look at us funny.......sure enough, he had one. Once treated he was back to his jovial self. Those infections wreck havoc on our parents when they are older!

I am so, so sore! When I went to my classroom yesterday, I got this brilliant idea to move every piece of furniture in there.....but the cleaners said they would help me tomorrow because they needed to get wheely things to put under all the heavy furniture to "wheel" it where I wanted and they were too busy and would be leaving in an hour.......Well, you don't tell an Italian girl you can't do it right then because she will do it herself withOUT the wheely thingies.....lol.....Tell my back and shoulders how brilliant that was today........lol

Today will be a little less exerting as I just want to put up bulletin boards but I had a good workout yesterday, for sure! Have a good Tuesday, everyone!

Morning boof heads, quack, chooks, and family. Steph I've done the same thing many times, decided I'm moving the house furniture and when I decide it it has to be done right NOW. I always regret it the next day by the time I've finished cleaning and rearranging everything but I will always do it again next time

Smooches y'all

Morning fam, good thoughts going out to all in need, and even those not in need :)
I'm going down to pick up my mom from outpatient surgery where her stomach is being examined by tube down through her throat etc. Her tummy has given her problems forever. When 19, she was diagnosed with arthritis and given an anti inflammatory called Bute, which is now only for horses. It ate her tummy badly, some had to be removed.

Afternoon Knucklebutts,
So sorry to hear about all the health issues going on. All my love and thoughts for strength and healing going out to you guys. :blowkiss:

I'd love one of those donuts. You guys have me considering one of those air fryers...but I supposed I'd have to use recipes and make an effort even if I got one, so my food would probably still suck since I'm just too lazy. If you can find me a gadget that does the cooking for me, let me know.

Thing is I hate to cook and I'm having a blast with this thing. You do need to follow some guidelines at least at first, but if you want to keep it super easy you can.
Frozen fries, onion rings, chicken nuggets, fish filets, chicken strips, pizza pockets, all come out way way better than they do in an oven. Those donuts were canned biscuits, patted down to donut size with the hole cut out, a little cinnamon sugar with nutmeg and ginger sprinked on top then spritzed with a little coconut oil. 6 minutes or so in the air fryer and they were donuts, just dip in some glaze and viola.

Are you sure you don't like to cook? That sounds rather involved, lol ;)
We just made done salt & vinegar chips :)
