Sure is! I've spent far too many years being cheap to go down that road lol

LAKE EFFECT SNOW CAN GO *verb* ITSELF IN THE *noun*!...That's about all I have to say about that
I haven't experienced lake effect weather but I can only imagine that it is very cold. Cold air with humidity goes right through me. Mildly low temps in TX are COLD and I can go outside here (CO) in shirtsleeves at below freezing. Our sun shines very brightly due to the thinner atmosphere and warms the body and soul!

I'm heading for Clovis, CA on Saturday or Sunday. I am watching the weather now to decide when I should leave. So far, it looks as though it won't be bad if I get over our mountains before Monday.

Oh Glow, I wish you didn't have to come to CA over the weekend...it's gonna be super duper stormy...Saturday will be less bad than Sunday, but if you're coming on 80 it won't be purty:(

Yeah gonna be a wild one. J and I will be staying in Mt view for this one. Being sick was an easy added benefit.

It is actually shorter to come out on 70 to 15 and up 99 so that is my route. It doesn't look to bad on that route. I have no desire to go over the Sierras in the near future. Lots of snow and lots of rain! Looks as if the only thing I will be fighting is possible flooding. Wonder if this truck can float? LOL

stay safe all

i just walked over to the fish and chip shop in 101 F weather
I have to say that you wanted fish and chips a lot more than I ever have. I wouldn't walk anywhere in 101F if I could avoid it. I will get in my car to go across the street just for the air conditioning. Don't mind walking a bit in the snow but that is just too hot! I have done physical labor in AZ when it was like 110-115 but I was younger then. And, it was short lived labor. We had to hand winch two cars out of the belly of a car hauler because they wouldn't start. There is something to be said for "dry heat"....it's still hot but not as miserable as it is when the humidity is up there around 80% like it is in Houston, TX so often.

We're gonna have lots of snow 'up the hill', and inches of rain down here, but then the storm warms a bit, so under 7000-8000' elevation the precip will be rain...melting the snowpack which we desperately need. Gonna be wild here tomorrow:)

Yeah even with the sun shining here it's just darn brutal. I wish I was going going down down to Cali Cali. Never had the pleasure of visiting but if I could it would be a winter trip. I love The Mitten State but BRRR I wouldn't mind a little break

looking better :)

morning knucks, or maybe late night

another scorcher, but starting to cool down
Good morning Puppy Man and now, good night. I am off to cough myself to sleep and keep my husband up all night. It's a rough job, but someone has to do it!

Hope you have a temperate day with lots of beauty and enjoyment. If not, then stay in and take naps. When in doubt, always take a nap.

She seems to be enjoying the snow, She wishes I could deal with this weather and come P-l-a-y with her, the other day I went out to untangle the lead and SHE FLIPPED when I stepped out, started to frantically search the snow for a toy I could throw lol and sometimes I swear she's playing snowman or something cause my black SatiVae comes in covered in white.

Need to remember that smoking had shitty days too, where chain smoking didn't cut it.

But sometimes vaping just sucks :tantrum:

It's cold. Like Nebraska cold. I don't live in Nebraska. Go away Nebraska cold.

Morning Knucks

Nebraska cold is "MAN" cold....pioneer cold....the kind of cold that puts hair on your feet and in your upwind ear.
It's the kind of cold that Lewis and Clark braved in search of Hot Native American chicks. The kind of cold that forced johnny Appleseed to stash his many pounds of seeds in his underwear to keep them safe, making walking very difficult and chaffing, but he did it so that today you can enjoy a Fuji or gala nicely sliced atop your cream of wheat in the comfort of your forced air heated home.

Nebraska cold isn't for everyone.....only the determined and the brave.
You'll never see a Kardashian bearing her breasts in Cowpatty in January......it's too cold for her type, but Sally Mae Johnson will show you hers...outside...in the parking lot for a cigarette and the last 2 swallows of your last call Pabst Blue Ribbon. And that right there is that Johnny Appleseed type spirit that makes the long, cold Nebraska winters bearable.

So...sit there in your balmy ivory tower to the east and make disparaging remarks about Nebraska cold.....but know this......after the major rains out west this weekend I fully expect California and a few other states to disappear under water....making my front yard "that" much closer to being beach front property.
Maybe then, I'll let you visit in the winter to bask on the beach. But don't come empty handed. We will need tropical fruit plants here when we're a coastal destination....pineapple for sure...so you can bring some, but to protect them from the brutally cold winters you will have then you'll need to stash them in your underwear to keep them warm and safe.

Is that a cool or warm front for you?

Sent from my LG-H815 using Tapatalk

Well....in October after its been hot all summer, 30 is freezing.
In January after its been sub zero for a while 30 feels like a heat wave.
It's all subjective, but I've found if you stay inside all year around with both the heat and the air conditioning set to 70 it doesn't matter.
