No... in fact I'd have to say just the reverse; always had a fairly high tolerance to pain, and ever since I got sober 24 yrs ago, I have about ZERO tolerance for any type of depressant or narcotic. Not sure if it's because of some damage to my liver from my drinking, though my blood work always comes back normal now, or just because I no longer use any depressants recreationally so I've lost what tolerance I did have (which was massive, while I was drinking).

About 8 months ago, I burned my finger pretty badly, 2nd degree with full blistering, from the steam off a microwave dinner; I still have about a half-bottle of hydrocodone from my appendectomy in 2014, so I took one of those, so I could get enough pain relief to let me fall asleep -- and discovered that I no longer like that sensation AT ALL, it made me feel so bleary and dizzy and icky I had no choice but to go to bed -- but that was exactlty what I was after, and it did help the pain, so that was ok.

Congratulations on getting and staying sober! I have a niece who is killing herself with Removed-Please read forum rules - I keep trying to get her into a facility but an excuse always appears last second. Anyway, you are blessed to not have to deal with the anesthesia issue. So far I've lived thru three major surgeries where I could feel every cut and pull they did. The worst is not being able to let them know because you're given a paralytic before every surgery. Uggg. I like you! We redheads have to stick together because only we know just how awsome and special we are!!

Heh.. yeah for me, what I hate about anesthesia is that it's basically time travel... When I had that appendectomy, when they put that mask on me, it was almost choking me, pressing on my throat.... next thing I know, I'm being pinched and gently slapped and told wake up, wake up, it's over -- it's like you just fall in a hole or something, and some period of time has just disappeared. I find that very disturbing!

But yeah... I think redheads rule. I've been brunette (the very dark auburn), blonde (the bleaching), and redhead... and it's really redheads that have the most fun. ;)

As for addictions... yeah, making excuses is always easier than dealing with one's own self, which is necessary if one wants to recover. Until one hits that "bottom"... recovery probably won't happen. It's a huge tragedy that some people's "bottom" is a coffin.

Just traded in my flip phone last month, as a matter of fact! Got a Droid Turbo 2, been using the piss out of it for 17 hours and it's at 47%...
I like my Note, but I'm thinking the S6 next with the stylus.

As much as I have enjoyed the bigger phone, I've also hated it's pocket unfriendliness. Otter box makes it bigger, than it already is.

I actually ran my wife's Note 2 for a few months - she Otter Boxed it from day one, so when she upgraded to the 4 the hand-me-down was practically brand new (I really am a technological Luddite - I'd been using a 5-year-old Droid 4 with the slide-out physical keyboard before). Phone was great, until an alarm went off and I slapped the phone, shattering the screen with my wedding ring. New Droid isn't much smaller than the Note, but it's supposed to be guaranteed shatter-proof and I've gotten used to the huge phone with no case, which is still probably more pocketable than an s6 (my second choice after being so impressed with the Galaxy line) with an Otter Box.

I am a die hard Samsung phone fanboy. I am also a proponent of otter box defender cases. Every phone I have owned, has worn one. They work! I have ran over phones, and ZERO damage to the phone. I'm too rough on a phone, not to have the otter box.

Whatever phone I buy next (will be a Samsung phone), I'll end up buying cash though. ATT can take the contract crap they push, and shove it!

Verizon (I have to have a reliable network since I run several businesses off my phone in often-spottily covered areas or I'd go with a budget provider) has a deal where you get a no-contract payment plan on your phone and can trade it in when you're 3/4 paid off - no good for me since I usually use phones 4-5 years rather than trading in every 18-24 months.

It was video reviews like this that got me off the Samsung bandwagon in an attempt to cut down on size by avoiding an outer box (that, and the wife's hand-me-down phone came with a hand-me-down pink Otter Box that was promptly discarded)...

I don't understand the love for otterbox cases. Why put a case on a phone that so badly affects the functionality of it? There's better cheaper cases

Samsung die hard here too, used nothing else for at least the past 6 or seven years. Just recently gave up my galaxy mega for the note 5, which seems to have a more narrow body than the note 2 I had before the mega. Or maybe it's just me missing that HUGE screen on the mega...lol!

Not even through my first cup of coffee, but two things already crawling up my ass to die.....
- Dumbasses who don't read contest rules and post whatever comes to mind, which they'll likely win with.
- REPEAT THREADS by pus-for-brains that refuse to read over the forum. How many "coil porn" threads do we need?? How many "What are you vaping" threads do we need?? And if it's not a dozen a week, I'm not sitting here, "Taking the plunge into DIY", "Diving into DIY," "So I finally decided to DIY".....same questions, same answers, and nine times outa ten the same results because they WON'T READ.
Whew....that felt better....now back to my coffee.....

With the way Samsung loads their devices up with bloatware, corrupts the Android OS, sometimes adding security vulnerabilities that would not otherwise exist: I won't have a Samsung device, any more, unless I can reload it with CyanogenMod.

Google Nexus or Motorola Moto G, X or E, for me. Been running a 1st Gen. Motorola Moto G for about 18 months or so. Love it. Just bought my wife a 3rd Gen. and she's tickled pink.

The ones that kill me are the ones who think that one brand of flavors, or one flavor vendor, can be the be-all and end-all for DIY.... Yeah, like one vape shop is the be-all and end-all for hardware! NOT! And yeah, there are umpteen links and references to bullcityvapor.com and ecigexpress.com.. but they JUST have to make a new thread asking for THE ONE SINGLE PLACE to get DIY stuff...

AGREED!! I order from three or four different places, all very cool guys with awesome customer service, but I still try new ones all the time. And I very nearly got sucked into that "one flavor brand only" b.s. till I actually tried some of the supposedly "over-flavored" recipes on other websites. I'm an "if it tastes good, do it" type of vaper, and was missing out on a lot of good juice with the mentality that there was only one brand worth using. I didn't stop using the one, I just broadened my horizons and glad I did.

Can't stand the otterbox, I understand the allure. I've even used them for fishing and hunting because nothing protects a phone better, but as soon as I'm back on land or out of the blind, the otterbox gets retired again. I don't understand, why buy a gorgeous thin, piece of technology and put it in a brick for the duration that you own it.

I'm all over the map on flavor brands, and where I get my DIY stuff -- I've gotten my PG/VG from amazon so far, but they've gone up a lot, so I think I'll go to essentialdepot in future, at least for PG; I use so little VG that amazon's price hike doesn't really signify -- but I get all my syringes and bottles off amazon -- mainly BCV and ECX and wizlabs for flavors, though I get my shisha strawberry from e-aromashop, and ALWAYS use vaperstek TH nicotine -- though I'm pretty well set on nicotine for the rest of my life (fuck you, FDfuckinA!). :)

There is no more one single brand or shop for DIY than there is for hardware! Not if you want to both save money, and have a great vape!

When I'm going to be on the water I've a waterproof, floating bag, with a lanyard on it, that I use. One side is clear, and you can use the phone through it. I put the lanyard around my neck and stuff the thing behind whatever PFD I'm wearing. Then, even if I go into the water, I still have my phone and I can still use it while in the water. Can't use the camera through it, though. Only downside.

It does float, with the phone in it, too. I tested it.

That never made any sense to me, either. When I got my first smartphone I bought the most slim, unobtrusive case I could get for it. It still made the phone a lot more bulky. My current phone is alleged to be splash-proof (somewhat waterproof, actually) and somewhat immune to drops, so it's going naked.

I don't buy $600-$700 phones, either. So even if the worst does happen: I'll just buy a new one.

"Fanny pack?" I've got a couple, but rarely use them. Mainly only when going on some kind of outing, not wearing a jacket, and wanting to carry some stuff, but not enough stuff to warrant a day pack.

I have a business plan with ATT. I'm out of contract, just riding on the plan. When you are "in contract" your bill is 20 bucks more a month, plus the cost of your phone (20-40 bucks a month depending on the phone you buy) or you buy the phone outright and still pay 20 bucks a month. Until your two years is up anyway.

A year ago I went to Verizon. I was looking to switch carriers. Here, it is either ATT or Verizon. If you use any other carrier, your data is NOT 4G and not reliable. I need reliable data, since I accept mobile payments with my business. Anyway, I talked to the Verizon rep about switching, and the cost for what I have (data, text, etc.) was the same price. Also, Verizon phones do not take a sim card, so changing phones myself was an issue.

I'm sure the costs are relative to region, as well as best service. There is no difference in service here, between ATT and Verizon. The cost as well was the same. What keeps me with ATT is the ease of switching phones. I don't need to go into the store to have a phone flashed. I can change the sim myself.
Sucks paying almost 175 a month for two phones, but at least it's a business write off.
