Well I upgraded to 1.093. Due to 'network anomolies' I can't activate TI or SS yet, even the slider wont let me in the app as I can't sign in and cant change the coefficient below 0.00400, need 0.003500 and even less for SS.

Well, I built a dual coil 0.24 24 gauge set up, set at 170W it was hitting a genuine 155W as shown on my phone (You can still use that part of the app, just not the others unless you are logged in).

I believe with 22G at 0.1-2 160W is feasable, as I hit 155 true watts, I will try to get above 160 though with the 222 gauge, see if I can get near 180W of true power(not just whats shown on screen, actual wattage).

I only want to try this as I like to max my mods out just once, to say I've done it.

I also got my DNA 200 shipped today by fast shipping from gearbest, and as soon as it hits here it will be about a day or 2 then courier delivery-I'm hoping it arrives in a week or so as I payed the extra for faster shipping-my previous orders from there (torches) arrived within 2 weeks, so I have high hope of a week-week and a half :)

Anyone looking for a sleeve? I spoke to the owner of http://boxmodskins.com here on the forum. They have multiple colors and multi-colors. Gave us a coupon code "vapingunderground" for 15% off. Only thing I noticed was you need to click check out (not PayPal) from your cart then select PayPal as your payment option and you can enter to code. $9 and change for the X Cube II. They have other models available too

Thank you Wolf... got the files, did the update.

1.93, working fine. It changed the default Ni TCR down to 0.006, should hit slightly harder but I use ohms adj to bump most of mine a couple hundredths anyway, likely won't notice.

Had the SMOK data cable out so I went ahead and did the VTC too.
Seems fine as well. Except for the dodgy TC that is.
Thats odd, thats what mine always has been from the beginning for NI-and 0.00600 is the correct setting for NI200, you should have a much better experience now it is set correctly :).

I was getting 180w the resistance just has to be low enough, pretty sure it was a 0.15 ohm coil, too lazy atm. When I first got it I wasn't hitting over like 6.5v so stay under that and you'll hit 180w both app and mod confirmed

Just got one of these from a very generous vaper, although I can't get the app to run on my phone. :( I have not had a chance to actually use it yet, but hopefully this weekend I will get a chance to learn all the settings, there seem to be quite a few of them.

Speaking of updates...
Now I have to go find the VTC thread... we just got a bump to 75w. That's TC mode too.
Original VT owners are gonna be pissed.
The mini?

The 1.2 bin file is actually hidden in the 1.10 zip file ...

Yeah way to make me just a tad sad. Fuck early adopters getting screwed! I just ordered the Istick 60w tc because I didn't see crazy improvement in the mini....
Can't even sell my VT now because they go for 45 new....

You have to click the Aprom button, then navigate to the hex update file you want to use and load that into the updater application.

Oops... I'm picturing the feature laden older app, not the slimmed down new beta.
That might need to be in a folder with the hex you want to use. Don't know.
Which app are you trying to use?

@LOveWerks Ummm...what???:confused: Sorry, that's waaay above my pay grade. The firmware upgrade was going fine, got to the latest version, connected then the first thing that happens when I click the "do upgrade" button is the "no EPROM file" error. Also, I was holding the fire bar the whole time.

If you've read earlier in this thread, go to who makes your computer's chipset - Intel, AMD, et cetera. Get all drivers current. Even though your oollldd Dell may be running Windows 7, if you meet the system requirements - upgrade to Windows 10 - disable Cortana, Internet Exploder, er, Explorer and only share your basic data with Microsoft - no one else, just for updates. Microsoft Edge will be non-existent, so get a sandbox browser like Firefox if you're running 32-bit data packets. Add Ghostery, and NoScript if you want more privacy.

To avoid the "No APROM file!" prompt: uninstall the MTP Portal Kit from your Program files - restart the computer, and go back to www.smoktech.com/hotnews - download their beta installer, open it with WinZip or equivalent, and open the 1.93 installer; then, click 'Check For Updates' (it should read Version 1.93 above the radio button you clicked); now, take the 18650s out of your CUBE X II; then, connect your mini USB to the CUBE; and, while squeezing the vapor trigger - connect your regular USB to the port of your choice on your Dell.

(Note: through the whole process, until you disconnect USB - KEEP THE VAPOR TRIGGER SQUEEZED)...

When you plug in USB, and you've checked the firmware version - you'll notice the Connect radio button 'highlight' - click it with your mouse, then, the last button 'Do Upgrade' will 'highlight' - click it with your mouse...

A green data transfer line will begin moving to the right in the SMOK program box. When it reaches the end, and the word PASS appears - disconnect the USB and mini USB from the CUBE, then pry your fingers loose from the CUBE's vapor trigger...

Install your 18650s, power up your CUBE - the firmware version will briefly read 1.93.

You're there - go play in the Temp settings, if you're using Ti, Sc or Ni - a .175 coefficient is usually a good place to begin (thank you to @CurlyxCracker and the guys)... and, your temperature display will go all the way up to 180 degrees F.

@LOveWerks and @Liz Wonder ;)

So I have to upgrade to Windows 10 to get this to work?

@LOveWerks @OneBadWolf Thanks for all of your help. It finally took a completely new bootcamp install of Window 7, which was a day & a half ordeal , to get the updater to work...do you know how many windows updates there have been since that came out??? Anyway that's all water under the bridge and I'm updated to version 1.93!! :D Really appreciate your assistance, great people around here!!:)

So I'm kinda feeling the mini kit. Anybody have that setup? It uses the regular coils but folks and reviewers said they need a lot of power for a good vape. Definitely more than 75 watts. I don't mind the original, but I can imagine they made improvements

It mini is very good. It does use the same coils as the full size. As for power, the tri coil works pretty good at 50 watts, it shines at 60 and higher, and this is coming from someone who never vapes over 30 watts normally. The six coil also does well on the lower end. The quad needs at least 60 to get a good vape. 30-60 is perfect with the Clapton coils. All of the rba decks can be used with 20watts or higher

The only problem with the mini tfv4 is the 3ml capacity. If you're gonna use the tri, quad or six coil, make sure you have your juice bottle with you because you'll be refilling constantly.

Hi people. I have an issue-No matter what firmware I am on-when I change batteries, the device resets EVERYTHING, and I have to reactivate TI and SS each time, rotate my screen, and set the LED t how I like it.

As you can guess-this is annoying.

Does anyone know how to sort this? I think I remember someone mentioning a guide to ensure it is cleanly installing and not leaving any remnants behind-I could really do with that.

Thank you all, you really help me :).

It's at least 34.65A. Firing a 0.15Ohm coil with Max setting hit 177W. Specs say 40A.
5af7d375ba4d1ec390f211ddb4cabde5.jpg
Hmm, you've managed that power? The most I have managed was 155W with a dual 0.1 setup-it wouldn't give the full output. I have tried multiple times-but it always tops out at 150-155, even when its set to 180W (1.093).

Also, does anyone know how to solve my error I posted above? It takes the piss whenever I put new batteries in or turn it off, it resets everything and I have to add TI and SS again, flip the screen, and set up the LED, at each battery change.

This was one of my favourite devices. Due to these isssues, I am starting to dislike it and am using the sig with NI builds, and the D2 with TI as its just smoother.

I mainly use it for kanthal now. If anyone could suggest how to fix that issue, it would be much appreciated and I probably will use it more for TI. I just can't be bothered to set it up EVERY battery change.

I am willing to reflash it, although I have several times, but if there is a way-please let me know. I am thinking of flashing it with NOTHING, then flashing the firmware in after so it is completely clean.

If you downgrade below 91 you WILL lose TC on SS and TI. 92 runs stable for me. Try putting 92 on again, but when you do, erase the old firmware. When did your mod begin doing this?
How exactly do I erase the old firmware? i have both the old flasher and new flasher-should I flash it with NOTHING, then install my firmware of choice?

Yes I've actually gone higher if voltage is correct on screen/app. I upped the initial ohms in wattage mode and went above wattage according to voltage

ANOTHER F"ING ISSUE. I updated the SMOK BEC app-and it worked. But it will not allow me to sign in. So now I am stuck, I have half battery, when these run out I will lose TI and SS. When I try to log in, the program crashes, but works fine logged out.

I am on android 5.1. So even if I do the reflash-I am stuck with just NI200.

Anybody want an Xcube lol?

I'm thinking downgrading to a pre 9x may help? Not sure. Had a similar issue when going to 93, only had SS in temp mode. Kept upgrading and turning off device a couple times, finally it stuck. As far as the app. Give me a second I'll get you the previous apk.

Go here, http://www.androidapps.biz/app/com.smoktech.smok all the way to the bottom, get last apk version that worked. Delete app from phone. Allow unknown sources in security and install old apk. Turn off auto updates.

Thank you so much mate.

Do you have the hex file of a pre 1.09- version you could send me?

My email adress is [email protected].

If you could send me whatever-it came with 1.08 and worked great-it would be fantastic.

As I loved the device to begin with, but am beginning to hate it, but the lowest version I have is 1.091.

It would be a massive, massive help if you could send me 1.08 or similar, or a link to it to download?

Thanks for your help man, Conan :)

Thanks man, it worked up to the latest version before the new one. So bloody strange-and I am pretty sure after reinstalling it it was the same app, as the previous had writing going over the upgrade buttons, this version does not lol.

Is your phone rooted Conan?
Hi mate-no I've not bothered rooting mate-just allowed unsigned apps to be installed. Coming from Iphone to android I did not see the point of rooting, as I could do everything on the android that I had to jailbreak my iphones to do lol.

I am sure I have done a clean install of this-but I will watch that video right now you provided-as the memory issue if f'ing annoying man!

Thanks for your help man, I hope this can sort it, as you can guess losing ALL your settings whenever you change battery's or turn the device off is annoying lol.

Hi man-this is exactly as I have been doing it :(. I am going to try once more to double check that in config its set to 52K/b and the other number he mentioned-but I have been erasing before installing the new.

So, do you have any ideas why it does not have memory of my settings on power off/removal of batteries? As having to re upgrade to use TI, flip the screen, and change the LED to how I like each time I have a low battery and change is very annoying :(.

Hope you can help, Conan.

Shit man it worked! Config wasn't set to 52, it was not on! I just turned the device off and on, and the settings were the same!

Thank you so much man, you a legend :)

EDIT:Spoke too soon. On battery removal and reinsertion, same issue :(

conanthewarrior

Ok I done it-battery insertion as well.

I had to Erase with the old installer-then use the new installer to install 1.093. It then remembered my settings on battery removal and reinsertion.

Happy is an understatement. I think this will be getting a lot more use now, along with the Sig150TC's great TC, should keep me occupied for a few weeks till my replacement DNA200 arrives.

Thanks man for the guide and everything, it did help :)

EDIT: TC Seems to be working a lot better as well-i am using a dual coil Titanium setup in a SMOK RSBT2, I think where it had remnants of other stuff on there it was really messing with it. It seems to actually be performing as it should, is reading resistance correctly, and not going hot then cold then hot again-just smooth and steady.

Thank you @OneBadWolf.

I recommend you use the newest one you can-I think I used the 4th or 5th one, the earlier ones had issues with the temp upgrading writing going over the button lol.
