that was my thought also ...use a set of jewelers files to, blend the edges on both the base and the top cap...kinda like the m atty, but, less severeI did REDUCE the whistle with a coil angle change, and CAREFULLY lining up the air.
But it's still there...
Heck for a few minutes, I ran it with the outer air slots over the big gap instead of where they should go - still blows on the Z-coil, but that seemed kind of lame - losing the tightly "aimed" air.
And hell, on a NarDa clone, I took a needle file to the outer holes, tried to give them a little taper. That might work, but my file is shit. And I really don't want to do that to my Legit NarDa - ezpecially as that one's the cool media-blast finish. I might pick up a better file and try that on the clone again. I wouldn't mind actually opening the air a tiny bit anyway...
