fabric dye, but you need the stuff formulated for synthetics

from what i have read, keeping liquid hot, just below boiling [around 95 C] is paramount to good results

there are other brands with more colour choices, but i'm just going for "kentucky sky"
I've seen people on fb say using a pressure cooker works really well?

The 20700 orca enclosure mills the extra battery space as a channel. Leaving a darker toned strip.

Still waiting on dye and other stuff. This dna75 looks easier than the puny little dicodes bf60

Yeah, wrap color does bleed through. I am thinking about changing from green to white.

Has anyone got any insight on the Viscous Ant Spade squonk? One came up for trade in one of my FoolBook group. I looked at a few videos, but would like some first hand advice from someone that's had one of these. Thanks in advance

A local store here ordered a few a while back, so I'm very curious to see one in person. Not a fan of proprietarty bottles, but then again, I've gone through mods quicker than I did the actual bottle, so perhaps its a moot point, especially since you get an extra one with the kit.

So I've been using the Coppervape V2 for the last week and a half non stop and I am quite impressed.

I wasn't a fan of the boring looks or the fact it says 18650 in big letters down the side of the mod.

For $20 it's a really solid well built mod and you can tell that they have put the majority of the budget into using quality internals which is refreshing.

The body is made from a tough rubberised plastic that definitely feels like it could take a drop into a hard surface. Internally it's a very simple traditional mech with silver plated copper contacts.

By far the best bit is the conductivity, this mod hits every inch as hard as my authentic Armageddon or Boxer classic. The 510 is chunky and well built and has accommodated all of my RDAs with ease!

It uses the same bottles as the Coppervape V1 mod which I'm not a fan of although they do hold 10ml which is handy. I will swap it out for a silicone bottle when my next China package arrives.

Overall for anyone looking for a hard wearing reliable beater mech to take to work etc I would definitely recommend.

he randomized the first few, which will be transferred to Stuart... Black and Ultem...think he is still assembling the White ones...bastard lol... Just waiting for the post myself... figured "The Week of the 5th we will begin shipping" actually means by the end of Feb as originally figured.

For the price they are I’m tempted to snag a few extra 510s and kits and then put them in my stash for further repairs/mods.

When you made your offer, I had just put in a humongous order for a ton of silver 510s and other goodies - but I'm cheap and put them on the slow boat

Not a big fan of the Holy...to many "Cheap" Looking things with it... Like the Silver parts, look like cheap rattle can sprayed... also not a fan of how the top doesn't mate flush and has a lip edge in the middle I guess which it to grab when you pull the top off. I would of preferred that top to not have a beveled edge where it meets the Delrin...but I do see why Raphael decided to do that...

I did like how they designed the bottle part...but I think designing that around a pretty iffy bottle was really a downer... then to top it all off, still copper internals.

Really wished he continued with this one...

upload_2018-2-7_17-17-51.png

which imo was better looking, but he abandoned it and came out with the Holy instead, similar but it was an edge squonk with top fire.

Been trying, trying, trying to get around how ugly these are, lol

Have almost pulled the trigger numerous times because they look like a good solid investment for the price

Maybe after I download a few others in my collection I will replace with these, or at least one

I ordered those swivels that were mentioned a long time ago in this thread. I think @raymo2u made them. I was wondering what is the best wire to start trying simple claptons? I only have experience making twisted wire coils and simple parallels. I hope this isn't going to be over my head but I figured I'd try again.
Clapton's are pretty easy you just wrap a thick wire with a thinner 1.I think NICHROME 80 gives a really good vape and ramps up faster than either KANTHAL A1 or STAINLESS STEEL 316L.
Including a tutorial video below.

Faster than 316L? I’ve never used Nichrome but 316L is all I use and it ramps up ridiculously fast compared to kanthal (which I used to use).

SS ramps quicker but gets yucky quicker. It also fluctuates in ohms (not a big deal just pointing it out) and ni80 ramps almost as fast, lasts longer and doesn't really fluctuate.
I used to vape nothing but SS but now that ive started building the biggest reason of all to use ni80 over SS is it ohms a little higher so you can get away with slightly larger builds. Even more so with kanthal but kanthal just tastes yucky lol at least to me it does. I wish it didn't because besides the taste it's a better wire for almost everything above. Well that and kanthal doesn't color up
Hopefully I got most of that right, it's late so give me a break.

I was interested in this actually. Was about to pull the trigger but decided the Hugo Squeezer was the best beater squonk on the market and took it instead. I'm not at all disappointed ... great atty comes with it too. That said i might pop for the coppervape as well. Once you have over a dozen squonks a few more fit in easily.

Any of you guys have the new VT Inbox V3 with the 3d printed panels? It looks like they solved all the problems that the OG had. Can use a regular squonk bottle now and does not come with a shitty atty. I don't mind using my own bf RDA at all. As long as the money is going towards an even better product.

Well, the shinyitus fever is gone without pulling the trigger on the Viscous Ant Spade. Man it feels good to have dodged the bullet on that. Felt so good I went ahead and ordered myself a Toaster Designs Tiny T from shapeways

I agree put me off too but given the decent quality of the internals I was willing to take a gamble.

Whilst I'm not defending the offensive design language I will say that they do look slightly better in the flesh than in the photos especially given that the rubberised coating is very matte as oppose to nasty cheap shiny lol

I still will never understand why they printed '18650' along the back edge!! Why? Just why! Thankfully they left the rest alone in regards to cheesy graphics.

If this was released 6 months ago it would have been an absolute top seller but fortunately there are plenty of options for budget squonks now so if looks are a priority look else where. However if like me you value performance over asthetic when it comes to beater mods it's a decent choice!

So I thought Id share this, squonker produced here in South Africa, called “The Owl” by 3D Bitz, pretty decent little device for the price, roughly US$99(which isnt bad looking at what we pay for the decent mods here). Varitube 510 and 50 micron silver plated beryllium copper contacts.

d3df6780393becd3063b5f826251578b.jpg

Then this is the alternative, the Monark, this is slightly more pricey, silver contacts and MM510 with price tag of roughly US$210.
