Does anyone have any ideas on making it fire more consistently? I really have to push the button to get this to fire. It has the spring loaded 510 installed for now but I'll be taking it apart to see if I can get better performance.

I've owned one Purge squonk and the firing button was a pain in the ass, traded it for a Plug and atty within a week. To be fair, I didn't put any time or effort into correcting the problem, didn't think I should have to at that price point. They are really nice, I hope that you get it resolved.

Make sure the contacts are clean.
If the throw is long take a piece of a business card and put it between the button and the contact. This will shorten the throw and make it a more responsive.
I've had several Purge Squonk Mods and never had any issues.

Yeah it's not quite the quality I expected - I will have more time tonight hopefully to mess with it.

I'm going to tear it down tonight and double check - they looked clean. The 510 moves with the press of the button. I'm sure it just needs some TLC.

Does it move with an RDA screwed down on it?
Mine would move without an RDA on it but not with one on it.

I'll check when I get home. The 510 tube moves when I push the button with an rda attached. It makes me push the button rather hard to get it to fire.

That's not good, hopefully it's just loose in there and just needs tightening.
But that does sound like that's where your problem is.

Six Spades is probably enough?

A couple of months ago I inquired in this thread about what my fellow squonkers thought of Spades. I've been mech squonking for years and had never owned a Spade for some unknown reason. Making past wrongs right.

What a great collection!

Six is definitely enough, you should leave all future Spade sale threads for the guy who goes by the boss

Seriously though, the best made mech squonk imo.

Well, gee - I guess I'm now on the lookout for one...
I might take that carbon fiber rig off to the right off your hands if you decide you overdid it, lol...

I don't know what's wrong here but it isn't firing for sh!t... I tightened up the piece in the 2nd pic and it doesn't register the RDA (even with the spring loaded 510) and it moves when I fire if I loosen it. I've already asked for a refund and am really bummed out! 20211214_190655.jpg20211214_190644.jpg

That looks to be shorting in the picture. Do you have a multimeter to check?

Have you tried taking the silver fire bar out and give it a slight bend to the right?

If the insulator in the 510 is cracked or in any way broken it would behave like you're describing.

I could be wrong but that looks like an adjustable 510 pin.
I don't have one anymore but I think they are reverse threaded so you would screw it clockwise to raise it up.

It isn't touching but, never hurts to check. I have to ask a very stupid question, would I use the volt setting I use on batteries?

I'll try that as well. I want to be careful as I've let the seller know I am thinking refund.

I have no idea what’s up with that URL preview but it links to a Varitube document on that 510.

I used G&S for it. I almost always use it on other sites.

I took the whole 510 apart but the damned thing doesn't fire due to the pin being so low. I am discovering I have a lot to learn yet. The squonk pin seems to stay loose or is too low to fire a rda.

It's been a while since I had mine but @gadget! might be on to something, did you try seeing if the 510 pin will raise?
Yeah it does but then it gets loose inside. I'm taking it apart and comparing to a picture online to make sure it looks right.

What about from the top of the 510, does that thread out, maybe reverse threaded. If everything on the bottom in your picture is tight the 510 should adjust from the top of the mod, right?

I'm out for the night, have an early morning tomorrow. I'm hoping you get this resolved 👍

@jcash74 - I got my Purge squonk out last night and the Varitube 510 is configured for manual adjustments in my mod. The VT can be set up to be spring loaded or manual adjust (with the proper bits). Anyway, I'm guessing yours is manual adjust as well. It is not reverse threaded.

In the video, you can see I start with the pin backed way out of the 510. It's not loose at all even with the pin backed out so far. I adjust the pin down, put on my atty, snug up the pin from the bottom and thread on the positive contact. Couple of things to note: my contacts, while clean, have a ton of miles on them but still fire no problem. Also, the battery is just about flat, probably like 3.6V.

resistance

the display shouldn't change from not touching anything at all. If you get any reading, it is touching

This! I’d bet it’s the squonk tube/510 adjustment in the video that solves it. It’s not making contact with the squonk pin on your atomizer and just needs to be adjusted up.

did you check the spring by chance? that was a weak point in those 510

i always switched the springless manual adjustment pin

Yeah the manual adjustment pin worked much better. I'm not sure if there's something wrong with the spring loaded version or not.

Is there an updated Mooches recommended 18650 battery chart? I can't seem to find one.

I'm looking for a good 18650 to use in the .16 (lowest and I don't vape this a lot) to .2 range on a single battery mech.

Haven't looked for Mooch lately.
Molicel P26A is Mooch rated 25A.
LionWholesale said they are discontinuing Samsung due to Samsung's legal concerns.

Ain't that nice, for Samsung to be so concerned, after about 10 years of making money hand over fist from vapers? Selling their damn 25Rs for 10 bucks apiece for a looonnnggg time.

Makes me wanna throw up. If I can get by with never purchasing another Samsung battery, I will most certainly do that.

I've liked Samsung, now on the fence till I see some trustworthy news.
If you think LW has trustworthy news, they also told me Samsung isn't the quality it was. I don't know how they come up with that assessment.
