Yeah... I have one in my Fasttech cart. Was hoping for the SMRT version :-(

Oh now that you say that, did they make a SMRT version? This is just a plain rba. Now if fasttech is saying ships in blah blah amount of days. I stopped trusting that years ago. But that's just me, as too many times they came back and said they didn't know when they would be getting it back in stock.

They do make a SMRT version, but everyone has 'em listed as OOS or Pre-order

Added a third Avalanche V1 to the rotation. I guess I like these things.

The GT4 is my favorite tank if all time so I decided to give the GT4S a try. Just as good because it's the same only shrunk down to 23mm. Pricey, but worth it imo.

I'd wanted a GT4 for a good while after I heard @f1r3b1rd rave about it. The price for an authentic was way beyond my means, so I got a Shenray clone, I think out of the hardware thread. I didn't even hesitate because generally Shenray does a bang-up job with their clones. But this one, I cannot keep it from "weeping" from the airflow slots. It puzzles me because it's not like the GT4 is hard to build. I think the tolerances of the parts in this clone must just be off, or maybe it needs new o-rings or something.

But maybe I'm wrong and there is some "secret" to building and wicking it right. Does anything come to mind for you?

I don’t own one, but one thing notorious on any clone are the O-rings.

O-rings aren’t terribly expensive, even to have an assortment for future atomizers.

Downfall though is finding a quality NBR multipack.

As many atomizers as I have around here, if it's o-rings that are needed, I should be able to find some that fit. I'll dismantle the thing and see if that's the problem. I really appreciate that you're always so willing to help.

I'd lean towards the o-rings being the issue if you're wicking it decently.

I get no leaks with my GT4's, when wicking I have the juice control ports fully open and if I see no negative space I know I'm good. I don't over pack it. If you can see any area in the juice control ports that don't have cotton it will leak. If your coil isn't flooding and the ports are filled with cotton it has to be something else like o-rings.

One last thing to note, you have to close the juice control ports whenever you fill or it will also leak.

You can buy the authentic o-ring replacement kits that I'd guess would fit a clone?

One thing I will note, and not a dig towards anyone.

But I find a lot who have leaking issues are overfilling the RTA/RBA.

There are the minority with wicking not being adequate, and others as yourself suspecting tolerances not being up to par.

Take me for example.

Dvarw RTA… first time I used it… flooded, overfilled it

Taifun GTR - same as above

Insider RBA/BB - overfilled the boro

Even these days with Boro devices I don’t fill it all the way, 85-90% full, take a pull to get the equalization and never had a leak again.

Weeping sometimes is just how the atomizer is relative to the ambient temps, your wattage etc causing excessive condensation and well gravity does it thing and wet is the 510 of your mod.

Asgard Minis are notorious for weeping through the 510 for me since I use .999 silver after market pins… I always need to add a tiny oring on the 510… ruined 2 30Ts with juice splooge all over the positive.

I wouldn’t put off doing a deep clean, look at all the threading to make sure there isn’t a burr causing the threads to now fully mate, scrub a dub with a toothbrush etc.

I would think possibly an o-ring also. Other thing is make sure you have this little o-ring on the underside of the top cap. Hopefully you can see it in the crappy picture I just took.

I've put a new coil in the Shenray. It had (*gasp*) a 2.5mm fused Clapton in it, and there is NO WAY that I could have gotten enough cotton in that tiny coil to keep it from leaking.

I fully expect that it may leak some on this first fill, but once the cotton has time to plump up, I think it will be right. I put a 3.5mm tri-core fused Clapton, five wraps, N80, 0.43 ohms and right now I'm running it at 40W. Three drags on it will cloud up the living room.

I checked o-rings and threading, everything looked good. @Theboss had the right idea - when I opened the juice flow all the way with the tank taken apart, I could see there wasn't enough cotton.

We'll see how it does. Thanks everybody for your help! <3

You may have it now, but I was working on this so here it is anyways.
It takes more wick than the ports look. If poking w/ ceramic tweezers they leave a void or weak spot, it may seep. It likes it on the firmer side.

I always make sure there's enough wick all the way into in the point of the tear drop,
or it could seep.

With smaller id, wick can be added.
