I'm using it now and it's not too bad. It's always been my opinion that the provided cotton for mesh rebuildables is way too much. I took a photo of how much I ripped off which was probably 1/3 of the piece.
View attachment 177290
Too much cotton under the mesh or in the wicking slots kills flavor.

After sliding the piece through, I cut it off right at the edge of the tanks base. Then, I fluff it all up.
View attachment 177291

I imagine theres a top half and bottom half of the fluffed up cotton. I start taking from the bottom half, just lightly pushing it until it falls in the wicking channels. All's I want is enough for it not to leak. It should be able to move around a little in the slots.
View attachment 177293
View attachment 177292
Once there's enough in the channels, I just cut the rest of the cotton off with my little scissor.

Looking at the pictures, there seems to be enough cotton for the job. I have no idea why they want you to use the whole piece that they have measured. It's always been too much, no matter what brand. I've found that using just enough makes the whole experience better. When I first tried the Profile I used the whole piece. It didn't squonk right and the flavor was really muted.

One last thing. If a mesh rebuildable starts getting hot or burnt, I make an adjustment to the cotton. I just poke around from the side with the objective of forcing a bit more cotton under the mesh. A few little pokes usually stops it from misbehaving.
Wow, thank you SO much. Awesome write up and pictures. As soon as I have a chance I will follow your guide. Got my Daughter visiting for the weekend, so probably Monday :) I will let you know how it goes. I'm also going to see if I have a glass for it. I think I do. I hate that pct, whatever the heck they call it, stuff!

That stuff works well in subohm tanks too. I just sampled the nexMESH Pro and one of the coils was clapton mesh. Really good flavor and not as dry. Warm saturated flavor that comes from clapton wire, but fires fast like mesh.

I tried one of those clapton strips in an older Vandy Vape Mesh RDA while I was waiting for my Mesh V2. I'll have to try it again in the newer one or in a Hadar. I don't think wicking has to be as critical with clapton mesh either.
Does not seem as critical as mesh. Everything I have tried worked. In the RDTA there is so much cotton it looks like a RDA... Uses mucho juice though.

It must be 'In Transit'. 'In Transit' is the USPS code word for "we don't know where this is but we are relatively confident that it will show up somewhere at some point in the near or distant future. When it does we will work at getting it to you." I really believe it is akin to last being seen in the Devil's Triangle.

Sometimes things go 'In Transit' even before they depart from a location. I have had some things stay 'In Transit' and suddenly show up at my door.

I've been fortunate in that everything that has gone 'In Transit' has eventually shown up.

Thoughts?
Only a 1/2 day in, but unfortunately I love em. I had to push my coils out a touch more from 1st attempt to get rid of a tiny bit of spit/hot, but now perfect. Flavor power smooth. I don't really understand the af adjustment, but it is perfect for me wide open, so don't care. I say unfortunate because although I am far from hating the looks like I thought I would, it is also far from my favorite for looks. That won't keep me from using the hell outta them if this keeps up though.

I've been buying mesh coils with legs soldered onto them from Fasttech the past few months. I like to rebuild factory coils when I get bored. I recently found out there's a tank RBA that is designed for what I've been doing. It uses odd shaped coils but I had to have it. The tank is on the way but the RBA and supplies arrived today.

It's for the Vapefly Kriemheld subohm tank. It's their RBA but they call it RMC (Rebuildable Mesh Coil).
20210131_124853.jpg
You take one of the coils and wrap it around the jig. Next you wrap a group of that cotton they got stacked up around it. Then you just position it in the RBA and make sure the legs go in the right place. Snip off the extra cotton and put the cap on. Looks easy enough.

The tanks and everything are designed by a hundred and three Germans it said. It's pretty spendy as far as subohm tanks go. I just saw there's a Kriemhild 2 coming out. Not sure how old the first one is.

Arrived and sitting. Have not used yet. Hoping it's serviceable

I bought one of these Nautilus GT tanks and it arrived a couple days ago. I'm shocked at how much I like it, although I was pretty pissed when it leaked most of the first tank of juice out onto my Centaurus. When I filled it the second time I did the "burping" thing I do with the rest of my tanks, and it hasn't leaked a bit this time.

Other vape mail: The Culverin RDA is amazing. I put a pair of fused staple Claptons in it, ohms at about 0.20, and now the Culverin is on my Centaurus. I've already ordered a second one in Brass to go on my Brizo. Also got an OG Pico Squeeze kit. I left the RDA in the box and put my one Wasp Nano on it, with a 26 ga SS parallel coil on it, about 0.30 ohms. It's pretty good but has a habit of getting hot just on my lower lip as I draw on it a little longer. I might have to switch it to an Elder Dragon, if the ED will fit. Also have several other small single-coil RDAs I could try. Not very happy with the Squeeze-Wasp Nano combo, though.

ETA: The Squeeze didn't like my silver ED, but it likes the blue one ok, and it's a much more enjoyable vape. Makes a cute combo, too. EDs look good on Pico mods anyway.

I'll be interested in seeing how this goes.

Those strips look pretty short and I gotta say. I have a bit of trepidation about how they have the little spikes from the mesh pattern sticking out like that. I could be wrong, but it seems like it might be hot spot haven.
I'm not sure if you can tolerate a Jai Haze video but he was kind of upset that their regular mesh coils are mostly N80. In order to do a review he set up the RBA with the same Kanthal mesh I got. He has a nickel allergy or some such. His reaction when using the RBA was pretty positive. Lots of flavor supposedly. There's other videos of it too on YouTube. The way it's supposed to be done wastes cotton btw. I can't believe I haven't heard of this sooner. Even without the RBA, I could use the coils and cotton in other coil housings like the Nunchaku tank coils.

Keeping the inner diameter tight, usually makes for better flavor. I think adding too much air to the mix (wider inner diameter) just dilutes flavor with these mesh coils. I think that's why dual and triple mesh usually outperforms single mesh coils. It's just a theory. The Nunchaku mesh coils have a smaller ID than something like Baby Beast styled mesh coils. The flavor intensity with the Nunchaku single mesh coils is a lot better than those wider ones. It reduces how much air is added while reducing the "chamber" where the vapor is created. I'm just rambling. Whatever Uwell did with those .2Ω mesh coils is something special.

Ah, like the Dreamers Ardent. I saw that in a video. The RDA takes place of the whole top cap.

It has a trim ring on the bottom that you can remove to use it like that. Will convert these Admiral tubes (which aren't hybrid with the top cap they came with) into hybrids. I'm not planning to use them that way.

The Brizo doesn't even have a top cap.

I don't squonk much anymore, this was a good deal. It took 3 months to get to me though. I know a lot of people have had issues with these but I guess I've been lucky, this is my 4th and no issues. I guess I like the weight and feel in hand.

I got a second VCR (or 80s Walkman) styled mod. Black Voopoo Alpha One.
20210201_145354(1).jpg
I didn't know if I wanted this one. From reading, they're supposed to be really tough mods that last. The big flaw with Voopoo black is that it starts rubbing off lol. I mainly got it just as a collectors item. Who knows though, maybe one day I'll wear all the paint off of it ? . I never had a Drag which is supposed to have the same chip or whatever. I really liked how my silver one fired when I tried it. I might hunt down a Drag or two before this mail ban kicks in..

I've had a few DNA Rebels in the past and the served me well. I just don't think I'm a fan of the plastic.

Does your squonker have a chip in it or is it a mech mod?

Correction: I just noticed the USB cable so it must have a chip. Which one does it have?

This one has the 75C, my least favorite DNA chip but a high Mah 21700 makes up for it.

I'm not much on the looks of most of the newer mechs but the hacksaw is appealing.

Hacksaw is beautiful. But I love my sui-side. I'm sure @VaporGroh is enjoying it. I have no problem taking aoart to put in a battery. It isn so small and light and hits like a truck. I lkie Complyfe but TBH I think there is better today at better prices.

While it's not my least favorite DNA, I as well think battery choice makes up for it, to a point, esp when compared to other single batt mods - then it might as well be a 250C. Unless it's one of the very few, only a couple iirr[extinct?], 2x18650's and even then only price would be the decision maker tween 75 and 250 imo. I have 3x75c, one's a dual batt and the other 2 Iv'e been running P42A and they've been decent but next batt purchase will likely include something in the 12A/5K Mah range for my lower wattage levels.

I've been running M50A's in my regulated mods and like them

I haven't looked at those types in a few months. Seen G50, and now M50A would perform about the same.
Yes, I don't have any Vapcell batteries but looking at the specs alone they'd be close to each other. I also haven't looked to see of Mooch has done any testing on the two. I usually only look for his testing when looking at new mech batteries.

Edit: All of my mechs are currently running P42A's and no complaints. Actually I believe I still have a couple of 30T's in TRVP wraps as well.

A quick Mooch look and seems about the only diff - if you want it call it that is...
@30W (10A) pr batt down to 3.2V =
G50 - 12.3Wh
M50A - 11.3Wh
...whatever that's worth.

Vapcell G50 is Samsung's G50

Got a box of stuff from Vapeology.eu yesterday, couldn't believe my own eyes when I opened it. In the box were:

Culverin RDA
Two bottles of e-liquid
Container of cotton

The packing material inside this box consisted of one piece of brown paper, folded in half and laid on top of the other items. Before opening the box I shook it a little, and could hear everything rattling around inside it.

What the actual fuck?

There was not a piece of bubble wrap or anything (like eliquid) in plastic bags, NOTHING.

It was just dumb luck that those bottles weren't busted and my cotton saturated in eliquid. Dammitall. I think they must be closing up shop, and don't give a shit right now.

Inside the box before this one, my Culverin RDA had come open, so the two halves of the tube had cotton and spares tucked inside, and the RDA itself was rolling around loose in the damn box.

I've always had great service from this company, but this mess right here pissed me off. They very well may have lost a customer.

They used to be like $8 there and nobody else stocks them really. Two bucks a piece is more like it.
