It's twenty below out here in MN. I live sort of south of Winnepeg. It was -41° last night. The cold spell is going to break after today though. It should be in the 30s next weekend. I might go skiing.
Yes, everyone west of me here on Ontario has been brutally cold. You're probably farther north than I am here in Southern Ontario. I pass through the Winnipeg/MN border once a year on my way to Vancouver but wait for the spring or summer for that trip, lol
Stay warm!

Ended up with a nice score today. I scan the local shops weekly, not that they sell much I'm interested in, but sometimes some good juice deals that I enjoy between DIY juice. I ended up calling a shop because they had their pre-built coils on sale, again I make my own but some of these Aliens, like Supernovas were beyond my skillset, they had the ohms listed on their site as dual coil but they were all .3 or .25, etc. I asked if he was sure about that and was it possible they listed per coil. He checked the glass bottles the coils came in and it ended up being the ohms for one coil. He says, everyone buys disposables now, we've had these for almost two years and haven't sold a single pair. If you want them I'll give them to you. I ended up with 5 sets of staggered fused claptons, 5 sets of Aliens, 2 sets of Mohawks and 2 sets of whatever these Supernova coils are.

Two thoughts on this, I was lucky today. Second, if online shopping ever ceases to exist and people have to reply on these shops there will be even less of us hobbyists around.

Have you heard of Fertile, MN? It's not far from Climax, another small town in the area.

When I was a young man, North Dakota and Western MN were in my sales Territory. A large part of my business was in the Red River Valley and the Grand Forks/Crookston area. I cannot forget how many farmers had to tell me the story about how after a tragic car accident, the local newspapers headline read, "Fertile Woman Dies in Climax".

I had the same thing with USPS. Weather here is about the same, perhaps a little colder. My driveway is 1,000ft. I had a mod that required a signature and my notice was simply placed in the mailbox. I fact I can see the front stoop to my door as I sit in my office. So I went online and filled out the info for redelivery and applied an electronic signature. It was confirmed that it would be delivered the next day. The next day, no package. I kicked off an email to USPS complaining and got a call from the local Post Office Manager. We had a nice chat. There was a replacement worker on the route and she's about the same age as my grand kids. I tell ya, these young people today...
Even a signature required I could understand. Nothing. And the constant bullshit, not just delivering a day or two late. Straight up lying about dropping shit off. The lazy ass drivers just click anything I guess. Usps might have had slow shipping times in the past but the past several months it's continually gotten worse. Sure, blame covids. Except for well over 6mo into the rona's shit wasn't messed up this badly. Getting tired of playing where's waldo with packages. Shouldn't have to enlist an expedition to find my packages, hunting down drainage ditches, on top of mailboxes, at abandoned houses, shit that's been left (ups) by an upper stock gate that's used only for feed deliveries. No house up there, no vehicle, no address. No indication if they didn't know me that it was even part of my place. For all they know a random mystery gate with a seldom traveled dirt path in the middle of a bunch of trees. Not like there was a welcome mat and a porch light.

@Theboss I feel for ya. These neg windchills are nuts. Suppose some are used to it, I'm not. I'm more about the warmer weather, born in Cali where it hardly ever freezes much less snows. Then a number of years in the desert where winters dipped into the low 20's and warmed back up to 40 or better during the day. 80F thanksgivings. All these crazy ass people talking about heading to Florida for winter, screw that. I'd rather head to Australia for winter, where it's summer again. Bout to freeze my damn nuggets off. All this talk of global warming, well I'm getting tired of shoveling 'global warming' off my porch and walks. lol.

Yes I know those towns. I know people from both towns. That's right around the area I'm from. I think I heard that story before but don't remember if it was a joke or true. There's also a little town called Nimrod.

Some of the rural peoples accents around here is like strait out of the movie Fargo lol. I didn't want to believe it at first but I started picking up on it. It's exaggerated in the movie of course but the "Helloo" and "Yyah" is pretty close.

I grew up on the Southside of Milwaukee and the family vacationed in the Northwoods of Wisconsin near the UP. So the accent in the area was not a shock at all. Though I was prone to say 'Hey?' a lot. People kept asking me if I was from Canada since we were close to the border. :giggle:

Canadians are known for saying "eh" a lot, that, strong beer, hockey and igloos :giggle: Oh and we're very polite eh?

Josh Duhamel has a cabin near where I live. My friend bumped into him at a little mom and pop store we got out here. He jumped into Detroit Lake a few days ago. I used to live there (Detroit Lakes MN). They do it every year for the Boys & Girls Club. I've done it before too. It's an intense feeling but coming strait from a sauna helps. It wasn't twenty below when I did it though lol.

I think he dated Fergie. She's rumored to have a cabin near by too. I'm from way out in the woods just past the edge of the RR Valley. There's no paparazzi so it must be nice for celebs to get away from it all in our neck of the woods.

We have a casino close by here. They used to bus loads of Canadians from Winnipeg. I've heard "eh" a lot. They'd order beer by saying "Bud's Light" or "Miller's Lite". Nobody says it like that here lol.

I've always loved visiting Canada. I'm fascinated by the different stuff up there. I could have a good time at a grocery store looking at the different brands and such. I've been up to Winnipeg several times but also been to Calgary and Banff. Good times. I used to go to summer camp up by the Peace Gardens (Central ND border). We'd go to Canada up by there too.

I love Wisconsin but not the Packers 😁 . It's such a nice state. I watched the NCAA volleyball tournament last year and was rooting for the Badgers to win it all. That last game was a heartbreaker.

Was surprised to see the spring loaded 510 and battery post.

Yes, they were designed for 1Ω or more, although I have run them lower. Pure silver springs were sold as well as silver plated buttons. These were made and sold in the days of cartomizers. About the time the next version, Paps-X came out the Kayfun Lite was released.

Machining on the Paps devices was flawless. On many tubes after placing the 18650 extension tube on the assembly the seam was hard to see.

Here's a shot of an 18500 Paps V3 Lux with an early version Kayfun dated 2014/02. At this time the Paps X was already out but the body tube went to 23mm which needed a reducer to match the Kayfun. This was my daily carry for a long time.

Got some vape mail today from @Pastorfuzz. He sent me some flavorings. Good heavens I will be long gone from this earth before I can use this all. :) Thanks PF, you're a gem. Can't wait to try the Hangsen cream! And I love the FA FF.

Also got the Mongreal RDA today from the slowboat. Real nice RDA. I think I like it best as a squonk RDA and with the glass cap. It's nice they give you extra o-rings to use for the glass. Nice smooth airflow and great flavor. Build deck is for a single coil and pretty easy to install. It's a keeper.

Dave would work with the RCMP on occasion when we lived in Montana. He told me after their day was done, there was no way in hell he could keep up with them at the bar. lol. He always had a great time though!

I've been wanting one of these for a while now. I finally pulled the trigger and I'm glad I did. Nice little 21700 mod and holds a 25mm tank.
