The Golden Age of America peaked and we are now on the decline.
Too many factors at play for us to reach that peak again.
When Ronald Reagan took office our national debt was around 600 billion dollars.
Now it has reached a level that we cannot possibly pay off, and has a life of it's own.
We also reached Debtor nation status under Reagan.
Might have happened no matter who was president however he was and as he said the buck stopped there.

If Ron said the "buck stops here" then he parole it from LBJ if I recall...

OH and Presidents DO NOT spend the money....... they ONLY SIGN for the check.

Build my wall is not spending money?

In any case the mad climb of the national debt coincides with the rise to power of the neo-cons.
Coincidence maybe but the timing is there.
I see no difference in the 2 party's in spending like drunken sailors.
The only difference is in what it is spent on and who is supposed to pay for it.

The national debt is a BIG moneymaker for lots of Wal Street types. And they like it that way.

Sorry, but Tricky Dick is the one who screwed the pooch by removing the last real backing that the US dollar had, thereby allowing the subsequent accumulation of debt its inevitable consequence, the debasement of the currency.

And there, highlighted for all to see, what's wrong with the U.S. Too many morons with more bullets than brains. Any idiot with an agenda can buy an assault rifle, machine gun, or other weapon of mass destruction. "It's my constitutional right". Well back then there were Indian attacks, people hunted for food and they used muskets to do it. The U.S. has too many inbred morons with too many weapons. You can have Trump. He's a joke to every country in the world. Even that little twat in North Korea beats him in battles of wits.
Nobel Prize Winners.
United States of America ........ 353
The pimple on North Dakota's ass AKA Canada......... 23

I'd say you do the math asswipe....... but I'm not sure you could.
You imbecile..God and our Forefathers gave us the right to bear arms not to fight Indians and hunt for food, but to protect ourselves from the rise of an oppressive and illegitamte goverment to protect us from becoming...Canadians.

America is like an aged athlete, once svelte and powerful. Once admired he is now bloated and looked at with eye-rolls. Every now and again he has to slam his fat fist down on the table to get noticed. People avoid him because they hate his pathetic bellering. Now the U.S. has elected a guy just like that to the presidency. Talk about a figure head, Trump is the embodiment of America.

Well said.

Trump is an example of some of the things wrong with the USA.
The problem is the people, they have as good of a government as they deserve.

Not every person now, but 'the people' by and large.

No need to highlight the defects you yourself exhibit.

Our forefathers did not give us that right. It has been an intrinsic, natural (or God-given, if you prefer) right since the first time a proto-human picked up a rock or a stick and used it to defend himself or his family against aggression of any sort. Our forefathers merely codified the notion that government shall not infringe on this right (among others).

Yep, America is a completely awful place. That's why we have well over 10 million people who've risked everything to come here illegally, and why a material percentage of the rest of the world's population would be willing to move instantly here if they could.

Ohh it is not by far the worst place. It is one of the better places. But the best place?

And if we do away with the welfare and such as many want fewer would want to move here?
So would that make it less better?

and I am for cutting out welfare abuse.
Such as mandatory sterilization after second child on public assistance.

President Donald Trump has endorsed Republican Ed Gillespie in the Virginia gubernatorial race. But the candidate appears to go out of his way to avoid mentioning his most prominent supporter.
Trump's endorsement isn't mentioned anywhere on Gillespie's campaign website or his social media pages. Gillespie doesn't discuss Trump unless he's prompted to do so. He doesn't criticize the President, but he also doesn't make an effort to embrace him, either.

In other words, he's a typical politician who doesn't wish to offend anyone. Based on that, I expect he'll lose.

Not knowing anything about the race... is the competition a Democrat???? If so could be moot point.

Just did some quick research and yes it it the final mainly Dem and Republican and pretty much a dead heat.
It looks like Trump support has hurt Gillespie some.

Raised by 87 donors
Strange how that happens....Heard there was another LV witness offed (in a video comment) but haven't seen info yet unless they were referring to the MegAnon shotgun suicide to the back of head. They are Dropping like Flies.

Is it Trump support or lack of support for a Trump that is hurting.... because the last election went to who supported Trump rather how was supported by Trump....
