Actually, it is exactly how to effectively protest. It works the same as a modest proposal. In order to actually get people's attention, you have to do something outlandish otherwise no one actually takes the time to look up from their phones to see what is actually happening right in front of them. As a veteran, I understand that it is not what we want to see as a nation, but that is the point - show the world something they don't want to see so that they can see what it is that you don't want to see. I have to say, this is a much better way to protest than to walk through the streets screaming inflammatory remarks that spark riots. If someone wants to protest in a way that doesn't cause blood to be spilled, I am all for it.
