As I said before though, people have to employ some logic and common sense. I get you're upset, you voted for Trump because you wanted xyz. Trump (or any President) is only one man. They're only 1/3 of government. They're not Congress and short of pulling some 3rd world or Hitlarian shit can't control the nearly 600 members of Congress. That's just not logical in terms of expectations.
I agree, the vast majority of republicans like the Bush's and crap are globalists. They're pussies and there's too much infighting among the various sects of the party. That has jack dick to do with Trump. What Trump's proposed doesn't just offend the left, it offends the swamp and there's quite a bit of swamp on the right. People who don't want things to change because someone's giving them a reach around in exchange for favors, politics as usual.
Trump only has so many options. He can't just say 'ok, this is now law' and let it be done like he's Jesus Christ. So the remaining options are, try to sign off on things as executive orders. Executive orders which can be undone with the swipe of a pen at the next POTUS' hand, eo's which will undoubtedly meet the resistance of the libs and dims with far left nutjobs from the circuit courts and be stalled in a battle of circle jerking between them and SCOTUS just like the travel ban. Another option is to take a hardline in which no one from Congress agrees between the left and factions of the right and nothing gets done. More shutdowns. The last option is compromise and actually getting at least 'something' agreed upon and done the proper way through Congress which is much harder for the next POTUS to just scratch off.
Which would you prefer he do? If you voted simply because Trump said this, this and that and it's what you wanted - but you never considered the reality of the swamp and dickwads in the House and Senate, that's a lack of common sense. I don't believe that to be the case, you seem pretty intelligent. It's akin to being in gradeschool and the substitute teacher says 'we're going on a field trip to the brewery, party for everyone!'. Yea, like they're the last word on field trips and the Principal and VP or Superintendent are going to roll with it. Unlikely. You may want to believe it's that easy but somewhere you know there's more to it than that.
I'm not making any excuses, but once more it goes back to living in the real world. I want ice cold beer, some hot chick hand feeding me snickers bars and handies all day long too but guess what. Not gonna hold my breath. Trump doesn't want amnesty but given the republican tools he's given to work with there's not a lot of choice. Compromise and make the best deals possible with what he's got to work with or do absolutely squat for 4-8yrs. Your real beef is with the party in general, the Lindsey Grahams and Marco Rubio's and Jeb Bush's. Not with Trump. It's not a dictatorship, not everything that happens or doesn't happen is owned by POTUS. It's like getting pissed off at mom because dad won't let you do something. If you want to do what you can to ensure Trump CAN do what he said he would, all you can do is vote in the midterms and try to add a drop in a bucket that makes up a larger swimming pool.
Anytime there's an election and candidates are vying for votes it's always key to remember the whole picture. Take what they say with a grain of salt, pay attention to the things they promise that's not within their power. Maybe that's why I'm not in a twist over the way Trump's performing. I had realistic expectations and I'm not disappointed at all. I felt he does have views that align with mine. If the pussies in power had enforced our laws in the first place through however many Presidents we've had this wouldn't even be an issue. I also knew what it entailed though and knew up front one man doesn't write the laws. Pussies meaning plural as in Congress - the lawmakers, not POTUS solely.
I get all that, but I think you are missing the obvious.
Trump does not have to lift a finger to not give Dreamers amnesty and citizenship. Daca was an Obama EO. Congress was not involved. Trump already nullified the Obama EO with his own EO. That's the end of the story for DACA and Trump does not need Congress or anybody else.
The opposite is true to give dreamers amnesty and citizenship. It requires that Congress pass a law and Trump must sign it.
So, I don't see where Trump has to compromise on DACA. He doesn't need congress or the swamp at all to do what he said he would do. He signed an EO to end it. It's over with, no further action needed.
We have to be careful when we listen to talking head rhetoric. I realize that the politicians and media spin things and make it seem that "deals" must be made. But that is a false reality. The real reality is that DACA is dead with no amnesty if Trump does nothing.
Trump needs funding for the wall. That is on Congress. We all knew that Trump would have a hard time getting funding for a wall and it would be opposed in Congress. If Trump tries and fails to get Congressional funding, that's on Congress, not Trump. Just like Congress could not end Obamacare, that's Congress failure and not Trump's failure despite the libtards trying to blame Trump for a bill he never received.
Trump has complete control. Without Congress, he can deliver half of his immigration policy to deport illegals. He needs Congress to deliver on the other half, border funding. And we already knew the Dims would fight it.
Trump trading amnesty for funding means he still failed on one of his policy promises. But he is deciding which one fails, not Congress if he gives amnesty. He will have done it himself. Trump has a choice. If he gives amnesty he himself has failed on his policy. If he does not give amnesty and does not get wall funding, congress has chosen to take that promise away and not Trump himself.
That's what I mean by Dems getting their way. They win the blame game by getting Republicans to play. They win. If Trump "compromises", he himself is responsible for giving amnesty. Congress will be free and clear. But if he does not compromise, it's Congress fault for not funding the wall. Trump will have delivered on his promise of no amnesty and he will have requested funding for border security. He will have done everything he said he would do. Or tried to. But, no. The R's are pussies and they allow the talking heads to twist it into a lose/lose for Trump and he is falling for it. He will put the blame squarely on himself for amnesty when he could put the real blame of funding on Congress.
And I don't know why pussy Republicans are so afraid of shutdowns. All the Dims have to do is threaten a shutdown and pussy Republicans pee down their legs. I don't get it.
