My dog likes to have her toys close by when she sleeps also. Just in case a human wants an impromptu game of fetch at 3 am or the off chance another dog breaks in the house and thinks for one second it’s gonna grab her rope without her attached to the other end.

I love dogs but can't have one in my apartment, so I'm going to volunteer at the city kennel as a dog walker. This will be so nice for me, since I'll spend quality time with adorable dogs who are getting exercise and spending time outdoors while waiting to be adopted. I attended orientation and already saw several dogs that I'd love to take home.

Oh, I felt the same until I moved to another city. Now I have both a cat and a dog. Here they are, Daisy and Oscar, both from a local shelter.

An article on Doggolab helped me to socialize these two. They were so scared and nervous for the first two months, but later they get used to me, my house and each other.

Don't Feed Your Dog Pig Ears

By Dr. Oz and Dr. Roizen, MDs

In the 1960s sitcom “Green Acres,” Fred Ziffel and his wife Doris have a son named Arnold. The only problem is, Arnold is a pig (a Chester White breed).

But everyone in Hooterville, where they live, treats Arnold as Fred and Doris' son, inviting him to town meetings and understanding him when he grunts and squeals.

In fact, Arnold repeatedly beats the local farmers at checkers, is working on a novel, plays the piano, and is an accomplished abstract painter.

Pigs have long been known to be remarkably intelligent. If that's not a good enough reason to avoid feeding processed pig-ear treats to your dog, here's another: The Food and Drug Administration and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recently updated info on the link between smoked pig-ear pet treats (apparently dogs love them) and human cases of salmonella.

Not only can contaminated pig-ear treats make your pooch sick, but if the dog is infected and licks you or your child on the face, you can get sick, too.

To date, pig ears have been linked to a “multidrug-resistant salmonella” outbreak in 35 states.

If you have pig-ear treats in your pantry, the FDA recommends disposing of them in a secure container so other animals can't access them.

And if your pig-ear-snacking pet seems to be getting sick, take it to a vet right away.

Hello Jim,

Canine CANCER is on the rise. An estimated 1 out of 2 mature dogs will contract this horrible disease. We are investigating glyphosate's possible link and correlation to Canine Lymphoma. BUT...

WE NEED YOUR DOG’S PEE :)

As part of our mission, we provide valuable FREE information to you our valued pet owners. We never ask you to pay for the research and educational information. We need your help NOW to continue our mission.

A no cost to you the owner, IRT will test dogs diagnosed with Canine Lymphoma for glyphosate - a known carcinogen in animals. We have tested food and found this chemical in many processed pet foods. SEE OUR UPDATED DOG FOOD GLYPHOSATE TEST RESULTS HERE.

We need to take the next preliminary step: determine if glyphosate is present in the urine of dogs diagnosed with lymphoma. We are looking to test dogs 70 lbs +, 8 years of age or older, and diagnosed with lymphoma by your vet. We will cover all costs of this new study.

PLEASE, PLEASE: if you or someone you know has a dog with lymphoma that fits the description, contact me.

On my recent vacation, I met a wonderful family out walking their two dogs. During our conversation, they informed me that one is suffering from repeated occurrences of canine lymphoma. Their encouragement to continue this journey to do this study leads me to this plea for your help. We owe it to our furry family members to do something. It won’t cost you anything. We are all in this together to find links to what is causing 1 in 2 dogs to get cancer.

I came across this in my research today. I thought it was a good story so figured I would share.

Miracle Max R.I.P.

Posted by Dr. Patrick Jones on Nov 02, 2019

Old_Max_VIgnette_1_large.jpg

I got word this week that an old friend of mine passed away. Max was a Labrador retriever cross that came to me as a youngster years ago after suffering a horrific wound on his leg. He had three options, amputation, euthanasia...or a miracle. We opted for choice number three and depended on God's amazing herbs and Max's amazing, joyful love of life to pull him through.
You can read the story Here.
To this day I often find myself thinking about Miracle Max. He taught me some wonderful lessons about healing and the power of plants. The lessons learned from Max have blessed the lives of many hundreds of dogs, cats and humans who have suffered terrible wounds and have been able to follow the path he blazed to healing and happiness. We were all lucky to know him.
Max was a singularly happy and loving fellow who never met a face that didn't need licking or a tennis ball that didn't need fetching. I was blessed to know him and will miss him. But I also cheer him on as he now journeys to a whole new world full of angels that need their faces washed. :0)

She was adopted this week! I'm so happy for her and her new family, since she is such a sweet and playful dog. She's into kisses and cuddles following play time.
