REAL FARMS NOT FAKE FOOD

Pets Are Being Sold Lab-Grown Meat

Hannah Twiggs writes for The Independent:

“Last year, the UK government made headlines by granting £1.6m to the Food Standards Agency (FSA) to investigate something straight out of science fiction: lab-grown meat.

The notion of beef that never chewed its cud or chicken that clucked feels like the fever dream of a Black Mirror writer.

Yet here we are, Pets at Home has now launched what it claims are the world’s first treats that combine plant-based ingredients with lab-grown chicken, eliminating the need for raising and slaughtering animals.

And experts say, it is only a matter of time that humans are sold meat produced in vats, not fields. But, before you start imagining petri-dish poultry and test-tube T-bones in Tesco, let’s tackle the big questions: is it safe? Is it healthy? And will it save the planet or is it just another ultra-processed foodstuff?”

Read why the real question is whether this high-tech meat offers meaningful improvements compared to the conventional stuff

FORGIVE ME, MOMMY
😢
🐾

I was there where you left me for two whole days. Sleeping right on the side of the road. I was terrified of the noise from the cars but I did not move.
Last night one of those cars stopped and she got out. She invited me to lunch but I said no. She invited me to come sleep at her house and I also said no. I tried to explain to her that I was waiting for you but she wouldn’t listen. She pulled out a leash and said I couldn’t stay there any longer. I bit her several times and ended up peeing on myself as I growled and cried! She didn’t understand that she was separating me from you! She took me against my will and we drove off! I was so sad because I knew you were going to be worried. We ended up at her house.
I kept screaming hoping you would hear me but you never came. I vomited because of my nerves, feeling so sick. I kept telling her I had to go back because you were going to think I abandoned you when you saw I wasn’t there! I, who love you with all my heart and soul have not stopped crying since we separated a few days ago. I want you to know, I would never do that to you.
I don’t know where you are now or why you stopped the car and left me there. Surely you had something very important to do. Can you come find me now, mommy?
Today I ate because my tummy was hurting. I also slept on a very soft bed. And by accident I also wiggled my tail a bit. I’m so sorry, please forgive me. She’s just being really nice to me. She said I could stay forever. She’s calling me Milo but I already have a name. When you pick me up you can tell it to her. You’ll see how surprised she’ll be when you explain to her that this was a big mistake.
Because mommy, you’re coming back for me, right

I just found out something about dog food that totally caught me off guard, and I had to share it with you.

Like most pet parents, I’ve always tried to pick the best food for my pup.

But it turns out, even the kibble and canned stuff we trust might NOT be as safe as we think.

Katherine Heigl (yes, the actress and an incredible dog rescuer) discovered something shocking: most commercial dog food is cooked at extreme temperatures, creating harmful compounds called A.G.E.s.

These can lead to joint pain, digestion issues, and other sneaky health problems that show up when it’s too late.

The good news? Katherine also found a simple fix that can help protect our dogs.

She’s sharing exactly how in a free video, and I was blown away when I watched it.

So many dog parents are already seeing their pups become healthier, more energetic, and happier.

Check it out here—I think you’ll find it eye-opening →

so now we have learnt that we humans are doomedand cant even have the dreaded needle, now our experts have discovered that our furry friends are doomed as well! with all these experts in our world one would think we might get through one day without another problem! they say" in reading lies knowledge in knowledge lies wisdom". sometimes i think we read too much.

my uncle who lost a leg racing motorcycles, asked me when i was 10yrs old, if icould help him locate a noise. we scoured the house and could not find out what it was. next day my auntie said to my uncle" tell him what the noise was! sheeplishly my uncle explained that when he had gone to bed the little pekinese dog had crawled inside his tin leg and uncle had been walking around the shop all day with the muffled yapping of a dog inside his leg!

When Your Beloved Dog Dies

some advice and help for dealing with the grief of a loved one passing

In this short video I have a recommendation for a movie to help you through the grief when your dog dies. The movie is “A Dog’s Purpose” created in 2017 and depicts a dog as it goes through numerous re-incarnations. There are some hard moments, as in all of life, but it is handled well and you’ll finish the movie feeling so much better about your dogs death and life.

I just got the most awesome email from Lee Asher and the Asher House Sanctuary. I had entered Elsa in a contest and she won!!!

Email below

Hello Deb,
We received the request to get your pet fixed and we have selected Elsa to be one of our May recipients! You don’t have to have the surgery this upcoming month, but she will be listed as one our May pets!

Under our Get Fixed Program, The Asher House will pay up to $300 for the surgery. All you need to do is make the appointment for the surgery and provide me with the vet contact information, so that I can set up the billing. If you can provide us with her picture that would be great. It will be included in our Monthly Newsletter! 🙂

Here is my pretty girl Elsa. She is the White pup on the left. She's about 120lbs now :) She will be 2 at the end of May

That's so sweet. They even have matching colors! All my kitties love my Shepherd. Elsa? not so much, lol. She's still very "puppyish" and plays a bit rough. Major has always been a gentle soul, so they love him. The last homeless kitty I took in, went right to him first, even before she would let us love on her.
