Congrats, DeWalt makes great tools. They don't need any breaking in either :)

No doubt they make great tools...the drill that it replaced was a DeWalt as well
0ce9bc63c148ab3e9a6d7b0775319bfc.jpg

I was down to one battery and just asked for a new battery, but also mentioned it’d be nice if I could have a Lithium Ion battery rather than the NiCd, but Christmas Morning one of my presents was this new one...upgrade from 18v to 20v and upgrade from NiCd to Li-Ion. The only thing that isn’t better is that with the older drill when the trigger was released, the drill came to an immediate and abrupt stop rather than “winding down” that this newer drill does...it’s not much, just a quarter of a rotation, but noticeable.

Andria, have a look at the video Cromwell posted. To build it you only need to take it apart from the bottom, which is easy. Unscrewing the tank to replace the glass needs more force than he could do by hand, but he did it using a tool for leverage. I wouldn't try that until I had to for fear of breaking the glass.

The rest of the tank parts are very likely press fit, so you won't be able to get them apart.

Yes i went and looked at it, and my son already had the base off, so I just took the advice and put it in a bowl to soak overnight, half isopropyl and half boiling water. Hopefully that will get rid of any machine oil that might be present. :)

I've bought 6 Nanos from different vendors and none had machine oil residue. Think he'll be good.

I haven't run into it often, but one Kayfun I bought had it, and it was one of those things that's so fucking awful, you NEVER wanna do that again. :D Sorta like a rayon dry hit. :giggle: So I always make the effort... just in case. :D

Built my first clapton coil. It took 2 1/2 hours, a lot of cussing, and some walking away and coming back to produce one vapable coil. I'g got a long way to go, but I have learned a lot in the last 2 1/2 hours.

The first one is the hardest, they get much easier after you make a few

Hope it works out for you!

Just put in an order for a DoggyStyle RTA from FT. Seems right up my alley for a low power tank and IMO they might not be making them much longer, so if I want to try it now's better than later. Not in stock though, so I hope it won't take forever to get sent. Time will tell.

Don't you have a furnace?

Andria
Yes and no lol. I have one but it's propane. It was a messed up deal, the tank is owned by the landlord so the gas co couldn't take it back (they tried). Apparently the previous tenants got a tank and didn't pay so before they'd fill the tank the gas co wanted me to pay for a full tank (500gal) PLUS the bill from the previous tenants. I said hell no, it's not my bill to pay so that ended that. I've used propane furnaces in the past and they eat the hell out of gas. First time I used one elsewhere, my propane tank dropped so fast I called the company out to check and see if I had a leak.

I could try to go electric, not sure if an electric furnace would fit in the same spot (old place, not really up with modern times). Not to mention the cost of wiring. I've got an exterior wood burner but need to get some repairs done to the firebox. It popped some of the welds inside, tried some repair putty but that let loose after a season. The way it is, some smoke makes its way from the burn box into the circulation box which means smoke vents into the house (usually only when starting a new burn but not good having smoke in the house).

As far as vape related I changed my wick out and tried some cbv2 for the first time. I was a little skeptical since I didn't care for rayon when I tried it. Muji is my usual go to for wick. Gotta say though, cotton bacon isn't half bad. Tastes a little cleaner, no cottony flavor the first few puffs. Seems like the vape is a little smoother. Might be something I consider when it's on sale, not sure it's so great I'd pay a huge premium for it though.

It's 13 degrees. I'm cheating the cold by using twisted 22 guage coils at 100 watts, my liquid is staying Nice And Warm...and also probably steeping itself lmao. I will be twisting 36awg wire later and rebuild my Serpent Mini, which is now exclusively fo MTL :)

I have decided to pretend I never ordered from Fasttech in November, so that I may pretend to be surprised when it finally comes in the mail.

My birthday is in 2 days :D

About to break down a squonker and fill it with some unicorn milk from cuttwood. Went to buy the mega melons and all they had was a 12 and 0 nic so I got the other. Never tried it but it smells good.will be a switch from peanut butter custard.

Edit: Unicorn milk is pretty good but tastes the same as every other strawberry milk I've had. I wish the store I went to had the mega melons.

Happy early birthday. I'll definitely forget before then. Ha ha. I'm glad you're enjoying building coils so much. A great feel of accomplishment. I've gotta get some thinner wire before I can go any further but I'll get there.

36 guage aint gonna happen again for a while, I almost Lost The Wire in the dark garage lmao. And it's still hard to make tight wraps, and I don't own a hand torch anymore so... Twisted 32 is just fine for MTL, for today... Warped my coil because I forgot I had a preheat on...again

I've heard of Unicorn Milk, there is a supposedly good clone of it (and silly backstory) on ELR

Damn, that totally sucks! But I completely agree, no reason you should have to pay some freeloader's bill. And also agree about the inadvisability of having smoke in the house!

I wanted to replace our gas water heater with an electric one, as we did with our stove... but behind the stove, we found a 220/240 plug, so that was a simple matter; for the water heater, we'd have to do the whole 'spensive electrician thing, and from what everyone said, apparently it would cost a lot more to operate an electric water heater, than gas. So we got a new gas one. *sigh* Our furnace is also gas, so it kinda balances; in the summer, our gas bills are low just from the water heater, while the elec bill gets higher from the AC -- winter, the electric bill isn't too bad, while the gas bill goes higher from the furnace+water heater. And as much as I would love living in the boonies for lack of traffic, noise, and hordes of people, I gotta say that being on county water & sewerage and using natural gas is definitely a great thing.

Man, that does suck! Hope it all works out for you.

Be careful about switching to electric heat. I'm in Ontario and our electricity runs us average about $0.14 CDN / kw hour, delivered. That works out to about 5 times more than it would cost us to heat with natural gas.

Rewicked my SZX, was looked at like I was a leper for vaping in the parking lot of my work, was stopped by a guy so he could say the Cloud smelled great (again in the parking lot), got home and straightened out the twists in some alien wire I made earlier in the day and coiled them up

Cleaned and rewicked a couple of Rose tanks and an Aromamizer RDTA V1.

Had another go at the Taifun GS which I left for a while because it frustrated me so much last time I tried it. I don't have the wicking worked out yet so I can do it dependably, but I like the vape so much when it's right I'm persevering. Went back to putting the coil wick through the little holes above the coil and it's vaping perfectly at 11.5 watts. I'm hoping I can figure it out, time will tell, but for now I'm loving it :)

Thanks. Yea I've already checked, at most my power bill goes up $40-50/mo when the electric heat is running hard. Above and beyond normal electric costs. To get the 500gal propane tank filled it's close to $1000 (plus the co wanted to charge me for what the previous tenants never paid which isn't my problem). People around here go through 500gal easy over a cold winter, a couple of my neighbors stopped using propane as well. Natural gas may be another story when it's piped in through the city, I live where it's rural and no lng, only lp.

I'm fortunate enough electric rates are low, for my town it's almost 19% below the national average at around $0.0969/kwh. Compared to propane right now which is running around $1.85/gal, for a 500gal tank is $925 and they don't do partial fills anymore. It's better now than it was a couple years ago when I checked into it and it was nearly $4/gal which would have cost just under $2000 for a tank that wouldn't last all year. Paying even $50/mo more for running electric heat during winter, I'm only out maybe $250-300 for the winter season. It's way more cost effective.

I've got a kerosene heater as well but damn those things stink. Hard to trust the places around here as well, not only are prices a bit high but a few years back one of the local filling stations had an issue where they were dealing in unleaded, diesel and kerosene. They screwed up and accidentally filled the kerosene pump with unleaded. Like to think I'd have noticed the difference in smell but if someone wasn't paying attention and just trusted the filling station - yikes.

Had the same thing happen close to me last year. Gas station has a kerosene pump but the vendor that filled the storage tank put unleaded in and it actually caught a house on fire when the guy lit it. Scary stuff right there.

Sounds like electric is a very good way for you to go Synphul. My electric bill goes up by $50 a month when I warm up my 250 sq ft garage (my workshop) to about 50 deg with a 3000 watt heater for 8 hours a day for a week

Best of luck with it.

How old is that electric heater? We keep a space heater a) in my room, which tends to be cold when closed off, as at night, and b) in the garage, since the cat likes to hang out in there at night and when the weather's bad. We replaced the one in my room last year, and the garage heater back in the fall when the nights first got chilly, and with newer appliances, we're not seeing such a huge spike in the electric bill -- stuff really is made to be more efficient these days! And these aren't expensive heaters at all, just Walmart $15 jobs.

I have it on good faith from someone I trust very much on vaping stuff that the Pulse is crap. Worse than the Frankenclone I was told...
I will not name names they will come out and post about it if they desire.

Disclaimer: I own none of the plastic poke yer finger in the hole squonk mods.

Today I made my first clapton wire!
Then I made my first Usable clapton wire, fused clapton, and put it on my old buddy Boreas. 2x28/32
IMG_20171229_152542_crop_249x270.jpg
And one day, I will get my FT shipment which includes some badly needed grub screws for her.
Winding wire was way easier than I thought it would be, I wouldn't even try it until I saw Ohm Boy Josh wrap some without a swivel. Then I put my big girl pants on and did it.

I like claptons in the Boreas because I can visually check how wet the wicks are more easily.

Did I mention my FT shipment has about 10 other things I've been needing, claptoned coils being one of them? Poop on ya, FT, I'll twist my Own dang claptons. Pfft.

Edit: And yesterday I finally used my store credit won in the contest forum to DIY Flavor Shack. I asked them a question and not only did she reply instantly, she emailed me again this morning to correct a typo lol

Did you try a new flavor?
Get vape mail?
Try a new build or coil?
Talk to someone about vaping?
But something cool?

Post up anything vape related that you did today!

Here is my contribution:

Today I made 4 x 30ml bottles of DIY juice.
Strawberries and Cream
Simple Blue Raspberry
Raspberry Lemonade
Vanilla Cream Tobacco

How about you all?

I received the Nautilus 2 and put it on the Revenger mini. Been trying out the 1.8 and .7 ohm coils all afternoon.

Yeah, what @Wtmke1 said...was thinking of trying one out too, but now I think I might go with the Driptech-DS I saw Chef mention in the Vapemail thread a few days ago. Looks like the mod and goon 1.5 Clone Combo is only like $27 from FT

Well, I only had the Frankenskull Clone to Squonk with and it did me alright, but the inevitable happened with how I was popping the battery out (using the corner of the plastic side panel that comes off to pry it out) and the side panel shattered, so, now I’m in the market for a new Squonker and since I’m a mech junkie and love my Nichrome 80 Dual Aliens that come in at .12 Ohm, having a parallel box means not having to dedicate a pocket of my pants to carrying battery cases with spare batteries all over the place, though I did love how tiny and easily transportable the Frankenskull Clone was.
