What a pc of shit. It was the kind of movie i had to finish because other wise i spent the first hour as a total fukn waste.
Crappy story line.

Damn I thought it was a decent movie. I've been all over prime this weekend. Paying for 2 day shipping and forgot about all the extras. I've watched all the horror movies on Netflix and Hulu. Prime has tons of new ones. Some aren't great but I love horror/gore so it works out.

We've been trying to clear some space on our DVR, so tonight we watched The Free State of Jones that we recorded EONS ago. Not normally a big fan of McConaughey, but that was a damn fine role in a damn fine movie.

Yet again we agree, at least partly. I think it was one of his best. I am a fan of his, though, even in his sillier moments.

Hubby made me watch Clint Eastwood in Gran Torino with him.
Wow that was an excellent movie!
I don't know why I didn't watch it sooner? It has been on cable a number of times- just never watched it before.

I like Clint anything, even if he doesn't act in it but directs it.
it's has its moments, but most of it is boring.
James McAvoy, the crazy dude. while I wasn't liking the character, he about killed it with his acting.

Well, I don't dislike him or anything, just never found any real reason to be an actual fan -- I guess I find him a little... hmmm... vanilla? Or something -- actually vanilla is my favorite flavor!
But yeah, he was perfect in that role. At one point, my husband says "He really nails that southern accent," (because usually, non-southern people just cannot do it!) and I had to inform him "That's because he IS southern!" But I think he emphasized the accent slightly, in that movie; I don't think he *actually* says "uh" and "ah" for R's as they do in Virginia. Isn't he from Alabama? Usually down here in the DEEP south, we say our R's properly -- it's the diff between having had mostly Scots and Irish settlers, and mostly English as is the case in Virginia -- the tidewater accent. English people never met an R they could say right!Andria

Virginia's an odd accent, you're correct. Odd ou sounds, too. Going back to the hoouse, and such.
Matthew was terrific in True Detective, too.

Might be TX, I don't really know. Have to look him up and see what I can see. I knew a guy many years ago from Virginia; for the longest time I thought he was just mocking my own southern accent, but then learned he really spoke that way -- because he was from Virginia!

I think my favorite line is the Wonder Woman character saying, "He's back!"
Probably my favorite scene is the scene of the Flash character thinking Superman would not see him, then realizing Superman not only saw him but could track him by sight. There was this "oh shit" look on Flash' face that I think said "Hell yeah, this is THE SUPERMAN." I also liked the ending voice over. DC Comics I think are some big meanies for causing me to bawl my eyes out, but otherwise good people.

Have not seen American Sniper, refusing to simply on my own choice of principle. There's just a feel to the previews which well, leaves me hollow for lack of better description, discussion. Although, I have watched the Sniper series of movies. They have a different feel to them than Clint's American Sniper, might be that ClintWood cut too close to bone, and the Sniper series was 'oh look Hollywood". Not sure, just know I'm a bit perplexed and seemingly caught morally to consider watching AMSniper.
One thing to kill, another to murder. Then, a sense of glorifying that and well, there I am. And I do feel our highly trained, excellently outfitted snipers do murder. Yes, it may be in line of duty, this to me does not justify or excuse. I may in some's opinion be wrong to hold my opinion, belief. Well that's fine we can agree to disagree and no love or hate exchanged. People can and do see everything differently and do not all see the same all the time.
Moral quagmire 101 here for you though. If required to ensure Liberty, Freedom and not merely to protect some corporate/banking interests, ... You can bet I would put my life down to let a sniper take their intended target. Go figure that twisted mess of brainwashing out, take two aspirin if it causes you a headache like it does me. The big butt? Well, I'd like tangent evidence said target was indeed a credible threat and extermination was the last and only way to stop that threat.

that is a TALL order right there.
Not even seen chapter 2 yet but want to see the third as well. John Wick for me portrays killing. It might glorify it a bit, sure. But it is also still firmly rooted as fictional in it's portraying the violence, and doesn't hide "oh hey I'm fiction here." Sometimes we all need to see a damn good shoot 'em all movie, or action flick. Other times we might like sappy romances like The Life of Gary. Strangely enough that one is difficult to locate. Know I saw it, recall it had Vincent D'Onofrio in it as lead. It was despite being a story ending in tradgety, one that also ended very hopeful, joyous.
Funny you can ignore the fact I too once served and I too once swore the same oath to protect freedom. I said on another forum recently, I might disagree with something a person says. I am still bound to my oath though to die if needed in fighting to protect their right to say it. So yes, I think it's only fair, just, right I too can voice a view. My view is that a highly trained soldier given the greatest weapons affordable, gets orders to kill a person who most likely has no protection/s, no knowledge of a "death sentence", no way to defend themselves ... is ultimately murder.
When there is clearly all advantage given to someone ordered to kill another, what else can it be but murder? I'm sorry but I don't have the capacity to see it as anything else, much less try to put it into the context of a jury trail. "They were guilty of X which is a crime against America, so they were sentenced to die." Yes, prior to someone being killed in such manner I would like assurance our leadership in all it's careful and studied reasoning, has gravely considered their order. Still having taken that oath, there's my life forfeit much less any belief I might hold or think. And also leadership? In our America presently? No, I won't.
As to justice? Well I've seen that justice is not always just. I could toss out a few examples of when justice was either vengeance or politically motivated rape and slaughter. So, how can any of us say what is or isn't just when it's all subjective and based on fail able human nature anyway?
You can disagree and I'm glad you do actually. It helps me in further rationalizing what I believe and why. I'm also glad you speak up and tell me you disagree. That affirms soldiers have done their jobs and not died in vain. You voice, amazingly honors friends, brothers, sisters. I'll still leave the room though, air in it has become stale.
I did not once say your opinion was wrong. So not 1 drop of "spit" was sent. Simply stated my opinion, wich was earned.

Need to get started in seriousness though on some other work. Yes, actual work. It seems it's more difficult to stare at walls, come up with ideas than our jolly hero thought. Probably why so many suggest loosening with good drink. But no, no drink had here except sweet tea, water, coffee. So I'm going toward that ends.
No, no hard feelings. I just got to get busy. If I don't my mind will eventually break down the means to refine anti-matter in a mason jar on a desktop, and have it appear in the same space as matter stably. Which we all realize, well, it'd not be a good thing for the mind to do.

Exactly how I feel about every single thing that Will Ferrell has EVER done -- my son insisted we rent Holmes & Watson from RedBox, STUPIDEST THING I HAVE EVER SEEN. I ended up checking my Quora notifications on my phone, just so I didn't feel I was COMPLETELY wasting my time. It's a total mystery to me why ANYBODY likes the movies that man makes.
