I loved those movies. My husband was watching #3 and i walked in and said "what's this?" he told me it was the third one; I felt like crying -- "but I haven't even seen the 2nd one!" So he DVR'ed them for me, and when I had that icky flu back in april, he queued them up for me and we watched all 3, back to back.
Great couch binge when you feel like shit! 
Then we even re-watched Atomic Blonde -- bitchin movie, great 80s music, to cover up our asshole neighbors' travelling earthquake bass.Andria
I like all 3 as well, have them on DVD. Watching Equalizer 2 tonight, better than the first which I enjoyed too.I loved those movies. Yep, those are great too! Always nice to see a true badass taking up for those who can't take up for themselves! The mate is currently re-watching John Wick 2, and he and I are both chomping at the bit for the 3rd one -- I won't go out to the movies, so he waits with me, though our son saw JW3 and said it was just as great as the first 2. I'm just hoping that Ian McShane is back at work on a new season of American Gods; just can't believe how short the American Gods seasons are, but considering how in-demand McShane is, he probably said, sure, I'll play Odin, but I gotta cut out and go film these other half dozen movies!
McShane is one of those men who gets better looking as he ages, like Sean Connery.Andria
10 Things I Hate About You, still a great movie.
The Lie Machine - Something apparently done by Alex Jones & crew. It was pretty straight forward about a lot of American history, with pointers to source materials to look up. What they said in the movie they had actual documentation backing it up. It's rather interesting to see how much we get taught wrong.
I figure they'll be on John Wick 6 until we get to see John Wick 2.

Since Avengers Endgame just hit blu-ray, we bought both Infinity War and Endgame. Re-watched Infinity War last night -- and I STILL hate that damn ending!!!!!!!! Endgame tonight.

See now why I find difficult believing he commit suicide? This one and Dad Of The Year, imho were his way of talking to his girl Zelda. "No honey, daddy won't do that to you."
Yes, I understand what was going on with him was really messing him up bad. I also understand though, a daddy doesn't promise his girl stuff that like and break his word, even if he is getting messed up. It doesn't seem to fit, at least for me. Yes, I also know all the evidence suggests that's what happened. I still have trouble seeing it, probably always will.

I found his website at some point and posted my fangirl praise, and he replied very nicely. Love Tommy Lee Jones too; that man can play ANYTHING. Is Jones playing Dave Robicheaux?

I do believe that was the novel it was written after, yes Tommy Lee plays Dave Robicheaux. You'll like the opening scene at a bar, a gal walks over and sets a drink in front of him. "My name is Dave Robicheaux. I am an alcoholic. Sometimes I am tempted to drink." As he gets up and walks out, "I never do."

Yeah, that was one of the hooks for me, when I first started reading them, the recovering-alkie situation -- I was fairly new in sobriety then, and I really liked seeing a strong, smart protagonist in the same situation. But later I pretty much fell in love with his drunk loose-cannon friend Clete Purcell, who pretty much does anything he feels like, and very often gets away with it -- he's the "bad boy" that I think lives somewhere in all of us. And along the way of course, I came to realize what a FANDAMNTASTIC writer Burke is, and a hell of a thinker too. I'm sad to think that he doesn't seem to write the Robicheaux novels anymore, but instead, the other guy... dunno his name offhand, since I only read one or two of those. I think one of them might have been a crossover with Robicheaux, set in Montana (where Burke lives sometimes).

Yeah, I just looked up his name in Kindle, and his books are available as ebooks, but all for like $8-$10.... I'm in the Bookbub club, so I generally get my Kindle books either for free or VERY cheap. Also, I read a lot on Google Play Books, and since I'm in their "Google Rewards" survey club, I rack up a fair amount of Google bucks, and since I don't play games and have all the apps I need, I use those google bucks to buy their Google Play books.

When I saw that I watched the Unrated Uncut which was wicked and nasty~!
Might need to look at some of his work. Will be writing up character synopsizes for four main characters in a story, in the process. I'm basing a character off a real person whose motives were never understood. I realized I could create whatever motive I chose in a story. Now, understanding that, I'll have fun.
I have got the synopsis of the story finished as a working draft. Also have the main overview of it outlined. Get the character synopsizes finished, can begin fleshing out scenes for each character. Then, will place those scenes into the story's outline and flesh it out. Giving myself a reasonable deadline for having a draft finished.
After that I will set it aside two months, begin the next story's outlining process. Two months pass, revise and polish the first story draft. Out to market it will go as I finish the draft of story two. Keep working the process. It will be like a garden, put good in, get good back.

Studying Burke's writing can't lead any writer astray -- it's graceful, eloquent, and powerful -- and damned entertaining, too! When a writer can create a character like Clete Purcell, who's everything that no normal person would ever want to be, yet make him absolutely lovable and fun... that is a gifted writer!

Got one structural synopsis of a character done this morning along with housework. Think I am going to take a pause between doing the next three character structural synopsizes. After that, I will get into fleshing out each character synopsis into full story outlines as scenes. Then, I will move to fleshing out the story outline using the character scenes, adding in bits for locations, descriptions.
Using the snow flake method is seeming to be of great help for me. Even if I do as I have done and taken a day, or two between each step, I am still remaining on task and having forward progress. It is also helping that I have a sense of caring about this story. It may be in needing to outline a story, I slow my quantum speed processor brain enough to register caring. not sure. Going with, 'hey this is working out, keep doing it."
"Psst, psst! The boss is coming!"
Ah well, back to, ...

Just finished watching Freaks (1932) on TCM. It was an entertaining movie, with the “freaks” being played by real side show performers of the time. I wondered what had come of them after the movie because it seems Hollywood didn’t come calling again. Unbelievably sad, the lives these people had, being bought and sold, abused and stolen from. That’s just the ones I could find any information on. Anyway it was worth the watch and I don’t usually care for really old movies but this one was interesting. So if you find yourself flipping channels on a Thursday evening, as I was, and come across an early Hollywood movie called Freaks, give it a shot, it may surprise you.

The Secret of Marrowbone (Amazon Prime)
This is well worth a watch if you liked The Orphanage (same writer I believe), it is a mystery drama come ghost story which pieces together as you go and has some pretty good writing and characters in my opinion. It gets very tense at times and the ending begs for a second watch. Unlike the Orphanage this is all English language so a lot more accessible.

I haven't made it to (13) yet, had to watch the first season of Mindhunter again so I could keep up with the second season.

We finally watched Avengers Endgame last night. So that horrible end of Infinity War was finally brought to a satisfying conclusion. It was sad, certainly, losing the few Avengers that were lost... but it was also very satisfying, especially that Steve finally got to be with Peggy. I fell in love with Peggy's character during the short-lived "Agent Carter" series, and seeing how things had played out for her and Steve always made me so sad... so I was so pleased that they finally fixed that... and the song they danced to was just perfect; moving in its lyrics, and absolutely spinechilling in its musical brilliance. Kudos, Marvel.
Those "tings" at the end of the credits were quite puzzling and stimulating to conjecture, too... (and where exactly did Loki go? The things that make you say HMMMM.....)

I just watched this on Tubi and thought it was great. Some pretty realistic work portraying the CAs of south Louisiana. Good accent work in places, well placed violence, great character development, great music.
I just noticed Electric Mist on Prime. It’s on my list now. Had no idea there were Confederate soldiers in it. It’s a different one?
