I just noticed Electric Mist on Prime. It’s on my list now. Had no idea there were Confederate soldiers in it. It’s a different one?

There aren't. The Robicheaux stories are set in New Orleans, where there are a lot of cemeteries, many with Confederate dead.

There is a spirit of a Confederate general from TX what seems to guide the character Tommy Lee Jones plays. There's also a bit of sub-plot that a movie re-enacting some civil war battle/s in LA is being made. But no, no actual Confederate soldiers.

Looked at the new Pink Panther movies with Steve Martin in them today. Jean Reno was the only saving grace to them. The rest for what homage it attempted, was fluff. Glad I slept through the second one.

I still think the movie Lucky was good.

Jean Reno is a great actor. Really like him a lot.

I watched an oldish movie on Prime called A Murder of Crows. It sounds better than it was. A young Cuba Gooding stars in it, with Tom Berenger playing a detective. It was good for the scenery and pre Internet vibe. Very few computers and no cellphones.

Yes he is, never mind I think he is handsome in his own way.

He most definitely was, when he was younger, imo. More recent pics of him, unfortunately, he looks like he is not well. Happens to everyone, I suppose - he is older than he looks. Born in 1947.

But he was amazing in The Professional.

Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw

basic review

it's pretty good, nothing really special, justa good action movie. it pretty much has nothing to do with the Fast & Furious franchise, story wise, which was highly focused on cars.
Hobbs & Shaw's verbal jousting was some pretty funny stuff = cutting each other down = :giggle::giggle::giggle:.
there was a little Transformer'ish stuff going on that I didn't like.

now, on a personal note.
Vanessa Kirby. that is one SMOKIN HOT woman right there !!! and she was EXCELLENT in this movie.

a little hand check. and.

Margot at the Wedding, Nicole Kidman, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Jack Black. Sort of a dark chick flick, but it was ok.

I just watched The Manchurian candidate and it was disappointing. The end was terrible and I can appreciate a mysterious ending where they leave you hanging for a potential sequel. This just threw a few things at you in the end and it wasn’t supported by anything that happened in the movie. I’ll leave it there to avoid ruining the movie with a spoiler. I’m sure some haven’t seen it yet so I don’t want to spoil it, it’s only been 15 years so I figured I’d give it 20 to be safe before I reveal any spoilers so you’ve been warned. You have 5 years to watch it, tic-toc you’re in the clock.

Men In Black International and I enjoyed it for sure. Even with it being #4, it kept to the original theme but added a new twist. You will see a few of the characters from the previous ones.

John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum I loved it for the non stop action and great fight scenes including a couple of German Shepherds. Spoiler alert, look for a 4th in the series.

Brightburn, good twist on a superman basically, there is some real cringe parts in the movie, sure not a movie for kids, I would give it a 7/10

Rocketman. It was OK. More of a musical than a movie. Not in the same league as Bohemian Rhapsody. And I am not homophobic by any means. But they played up the gay a little too much.

I'm a huge huge MIB fan. I have watched the first three more times than I can count. I can probably recite Pt 1 word for word. I just didn't get all pumped up on this one. Didn't bother seeing it in the theater. I'm gonna rent it though.

I heard on the radio yesterday that EJ has a memoir coming out in the fall, which he says is more "factual" than the movie. I've been a steadfast EJ fangirl since 1975... good lord, 44 yrs... so I'm really looking forward to that -- I told my husband I GOTTA GET THAT BOOK! :D

Was kinda late getting around to it, but finally watched Fantastic Beasts: Crimes of Grindelwald. It was decent, a good movie just didn't have the magic of the original HP series or even the adventure of the first Fantastic Beasts. I figured it would end with the duel between Grindelwald and Dumbledore but it didn't, so expecting yet another movie to come back around to it.

Godzilla King of Monsters.......know why it bombed at the movies, cause it's crap, don't waste your time on it.
Think I made it 1/2 way through that one. Yes. Crap.

Watched Dark Phoenix last night.

I agree. Just watched Rocketman myself. Liked some parts, but others, not so much.

My middle school best friend introduced me to Tumbleweed Connection in 1971, so I'm a fan from way back, but I took a very long break from Elton for many years. Just too much bullshit for me for a really long time.

I struggled to get through it. Loved the first one and the HP series. This one was just eh.

I just finished watching An Interview With God. From an Agnostic point of view, I wish more who profess belief in God could grasp that belief like this movie portrays. One of the key lines that the character of God in the movie resonated with me. "What could you ever do that I could not possibly forgive?" Well, do not want to write much on it to avoid spoiling it. The movie merits watching at least once.

I think the last stuff he did that I really loved was in the mid-80s, the "Blue eyes... baby's got blue eyes" and "I'm still standing" era. After that, I was starting out with my husband, and he was introducing me to the deep cuts of Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Moody Blues, and some other classic rock icons that I had more or less missed out on, somehow. But I've always been pleased to know that when EJ decided to settle in the US, he chose my own hometown. :)

I saw Ready or Not last weekend. I really enjoyed it, since it was a combination of horror and comedy. My friend enjoyed it too.

I couldn’t get past the first five minutes.. lol
What’s up with all these Disney live action remakes.. they just suck..
My wife has bought everyone. It's the only one I've tried to watch.
It was the part where the kids waited for their dad at the train coming home from war. Got me in the guts.

We watched The Intruder last night and I must say Dennis Quaid playing a dark role was a surprise but damn he played it well.

Happens to me when I skip my Prozac for a few days.

The 4th of this month my mother would have been 88 years old. Got me good off and on all day.

In the fall, I start being preoccupied with thoughts of my mom. She passed in October 2016, and when we get to September, I start having really morbid thoughts like "this was the last month she was really aware of, instead of being stuck in some damn hospital." Can't believe it's nearly 3 yrs now.
