Let me re word my original post, the article was saying a lot of chefs are starting to feel as though places/chefs are being over looked for M stars and James Beard awards because they may not meet a certain criteria. And that they should rework the grading systems so these places get looked at.

As for me, I've done my dance with fine dining, wasn't me. I hated making food that looked like it belonged on the wall at a museum. I prefer my down to earth places that serve amazing food that don't require tweezers for plating.
Could not agree more. I specialised in Southern Mexican cuisine....things you just CAN'T make look pretty.

Living down here in the Southland I've grown to love Mexican food. Tortas, Tacos, Menudo, burritos Enchiladas, and the ever popular Fish Taco just to name a few.. although we do have a few good authentic Mexican restaurants here in El Cajon the best Mexican food is just over the border in Tijuana We park on this side of the border, walk across the Mexico line and hail a taxi to a number of restuants in the area.. After a awesome meal we visit the curios shops for some really good prices on leather products.. haven't been down south lately due to my new girlfriend not having her passport card yet. But we should be going down there often this summer.. also plan to drive down to Ensenada for some fabulous seafood and sportfishing at the Todos Santos Islands..a good, inexpensive getaway from the stress and strain living up here in the states, lol

Damn! It takes me 3+ hours any given way to get out of Ohio. It's weird to think of being able to just waltz right out of the country for me haha

It takes 8hrs from here, but with the amount of migrant farm workers, I just need to go down the street corner to get the authentic flavors. Taco Bell is a cat food hack.

We do have a huge Mexican population here so have plenty of good authentic restaurants, and some decent Americanized versions too. But it just blows my mind going out of country could be done in an evening, when even out of state is a day trip or more haha

The battle of the jeans continues. Apparently clothing designers believe my shape doesn't exist, so I have to tailor every single pair of pants I buy. So far I've been poked, cut, and ran my finger over with the walking foot. 2 hours of work to make 2 new pairs of jeans fit right. Why is yoga pants not a thing I can wear every day?

I haven't worn jeans in 10 yrs -- they're only for those without a single ounce of curve or softness. I wear leggins or yoga pants all summer, or sweat pants in the winter. Though I wouldn't know yoga if it bit me on the butt.

And my shape most certainly does NOT exist in standard female clothing -- if I want pants that actually fit, I buy men's... so that I can get the proper length AND waist size. But I don't have hips, so men's pants fit me just fine, none of that clown-pants ballooning on the sides.

I've got a 12" difference between waist and hips, men's pants would be useless on me. It's worth the extra work to have jeans fit perfectly, it's just a frustrating process not having a body double or something lol. Mannequins are as helpful to me as men's jeans.

But oh is it worth it when they slide right on, button nicely, and curve where they're supposed to! Badly fitting jeans are an epidemic I tell you way too many mom butts walking around

One of these days I'll have someone help me make a custom mannequin. Duct tape has many uses

That's why the wife only buys GV jeans. They are the only ones that are relieved appropriately for her.

I've always wished I had the usual female shape... but that's like wishing for snow in July, just not happening. Just glad that gaining some weight finally gave me a bosom. :D

Believe it or not, I am new to yoga pants. Where the hell have I been all these years?!! They are the greatest!!!! Winter, I wear sweats or warm jammie bottoms.
