Are you going into BIOS and setting your disc (DVD) as the boot drive, or is your recovery on a partition of the HDD?Yes black-screen can't even boot from a recovery disk, then the DVD drive gets stuck doesn't want to eject disk. The saddest part is it's only a year and one month old
Aww Thank you, pete67Sorry that happened to you
I don't know much about computers but that sounds like the hard drive.Yes black-screen can't even boot from a recovery disk, then the DVD drive gets stuck doesn't want to eject disk. The saddest part is it's only a year and one month old
I can't get to anything, the monitor is black-screen no matter what I try, can't get into the bios. I thought maybe it was the hdmi cable, but nope. Tried vga, still black-screen.Are you going into BIOS and setting your disc (DVD) as the boot drive, or is your recovery on a partition of the HDD?
Sucky windows 10.WW, what OS are you running?
Have a good evening, VapinI'm turning in, good night folks.
You might want to try to borrow another monitor just to see if it's what has died.I can't get to anything, the monitor is black-screen no matter what I try, can't get into the bios. I thought maybe it was the hdmi cable, but nope. Tried vga, still black-screen.
Goodnight Vapin.I'm turning in, good night folks.
If it turns out that you need to reinstall win 10 you can get to a working comp and download an ISO of it you can burn to a dvd writable disc and then boot from it to reinstall, that's what I had to do.Sucky windows 10.
Hooked up my old slow laptop with hdmi, the screen showed up, so nope the monitor is fine. Thank you, for the suggestionYou might want to try to borrow another monitor just to see if it's what has died.
Ok, so you say you can't get the comp to load BIOS, right? If not, you might have a power supply issue.Hooked up my old slow laptop with hdmi, the screen showed up, so nope the monitor is fine. Thank you, for the suggestion

I had thought of that. Don't have another one on hand to test it out.Ok, so you say you can't get the comp to load BIOS, right? If not, you might have a power supply issue.
Um, it was on sleep mode and the electricity went out then right back on. Heck, could be it. It is plugged into a surge protector. But did have a lot of lighting one night.I would say it's either the power supply or the video card is shot.Did it go out during a storm?
Sounds kinda like what happened to mine except I was stuck in a boot-loop and getting BSOD. I had to reinstall Win 10 from an ISO I made using my wife's comp. Power fluctuation somehow scrambled something on my HDD and Win wouldn't boot.Um, it was on sleep mode and the electricity went out then right back on. Heck, could be it. I would welcome BSOD at least I know I could do something. But a black-screen of nothingness horrible.Sounds kinda like what happened to mine except I was stuck in a boot-loop and getting BSOD.
