I actually have to get up in a few to slice up some chicken for tonight.
Kind of excited I am walking mom through cooking. No she is a HORRIBLE cook so this is kind of special
Sounds like my wife's mom, she can't cook to save her life. My wife on the other hand is amazing, granted she's a chef and has formal culinary training.

DH is working and I'm not so I guess I better come up with a fabulous dinner and maybe a dessert. Small dessert since he's a diabetic.

-8 here today and supposed to be -18 tomorrow,, I'm not going anywhere either, if I don't have to. Why do I live here in this damn cold??? Oh yeah, my job is here

Maybe you can find a better job in a warmer part of the country... I have family down in the Florida panhandle living in a little town called Mexico Beach for a number of years... White sugar sand beaches, warm 80° weather year round and low cost of living...my uncle drives to work in Panama City, a town he says is booming..

OK temp is broken, still keeping an eye on it, I went for a walk and pushed just a hair. At the time was not all that great feeling but it loosened me up a ton.
Working at getting this air shit out of my muscles from the lapro. Honestly that hurts worse than the actual spots they went in.

Mondays SUCK!......Found out today, that my BIL (wife's sister's husband), has Stage 4 cancer:(. Not sure yet, but I'm betting that it's lung cancer. Smoked up until recently. 64.....He's worked all his life, and was just getting ready to retire. Unbelievable!

Kevin, sorry about your bad news. Out thoughts and prayers are with you.

I could get a job pretty much anywhere I wanted,, if only I could get the husband to go! He's only got three and a half years to retire so I have to wait at least that long. But I've told him, when he retires we are outta here!! The hospital I work at is taking away our retirement on top of paying us a full $10/hrs less than other facilities in our area so I feel absolutely NO loyalty to the bastards. The only other fly in the ointment is his deadbeat drug addict daughter and his three grandkids are here. Kids being raised by his ex-wife so it's a real treat. He wants to go but feels obligated to help with the kids, which I understand but perhaps if you had required your daughter to clean herself up in order to have ANY contact with her kids things would be different. Shit,, don't get me started

@Break-19, @Whiskey, @Huckleberried, @Thejackson5, @always9988, @itsmenotyou, @Liz Wonder (she's right here, her itty-bitty cutesie self, beside me), @vuJim (thanks for the administrative/Win10WhenIWantIt help), Boat, and all within this thread, @Whiskey's Corner -

Good morning/afternoon, and thank you to those who were moved by my post, and wrote kind words about it.

I am a very blessed person. Regardless of the cruel words spoken by my younger brother last night, I awoke this morning to Carole King's song "You're Beautiful (As You Feel)," coming from Liz's smartphone, as she cajoled me into wakefulness.

My brother is lonely, and hurting. That can evoke every bad memory a person may possess, in order to make one's self feel better. That, in my humble opinion, sums everything up.

To @Whiskey: Don't buy the Ford Escape. Consumer Reports didn't give it but an 'average' rating, and front/side collision ratings matter.

Especially when you live in an area that can become snowbound. Most folks, in order to improve gas mileage (and, save nearly $4K off of the sticker price), go with the front-wheel-drive version. Even with Ford's EcoBoost engine lineup (which, is good) - All-Wheel-Drive setups suck the power out of an engine.

Not good, when you're stuck on a snowed-in road on a hill.

LW and Liz's recommendation:

2016 Subaru Forester

Just in crash test ratings alone, it is WAY ahead of the Escape. The fit and finish of the vehicle is very well-engineered; i.e., the distance between the door edges and the cabin entries are CONSISTENT.

Which means, less road noise; better door sealing when shut, and - better resale or trade-in value. Not to mention crash protection within the vehicle's 'crumple zones.'

Ford's power windows, especially the rear ones, have sucked for years. In the crossovers, you can thank Mazda for that.

Ford crossovers, SUVs, and trucks. Especially Ford trucks, and SUVs. They may be workhorses, but they are nowhere near Dodge, GM, Nissan and Toyota when it comes to fit and finish - exterior, and interior. Or, anywhere near Subaru.

These observations are from Motor Trend, Car and Driver, Consumer Reports and Edmunds.

Throw in Subaru's asymmetrical all-wheel drive, automatic braking when a front-end collision is imminent, and even though it's powered by Subaru's 4-cylinder, water-cooled Boxer engine -

The torque is amazing, for an engine that size. Keep replacing the synthetic oil, filters, spark plugs, wires and coil packs - and you've got an engine that'll last well over 300K miles. A friend of ours has a 2000 model year, four-door Legacy.

Odometer: 348,000

Hope this helps, @Whiskey.

LW & Liz (our next vehicle is a Subaru, for those Colorado winters):):):):)

Haha!!! Awhhhh thank you @Liz and @loveworks! It was just a disagreement, I'm feeling a little overwhelmed with school and work. He actually treats me very well and it's not too often that we argue. ...yes, I have one divorce under my belt and have kissed some ugly frogs too. I got a good one. Managing being a mom, wife, nurse and student can be a lot sometimes. ..I tend to hold things in then explode so no surprise we argued yesterday. All is well today. Going to study and I work tonight. Thank you guys for being so sweet and supporting

Vape on

I know the feeling -- I had one that abused me physically, then one that abused me mentally and emotionally.... so now I have one that doesn't do either -- but he's still a human being, and has occasional times of just acting like an asshole. I guess we all do. :) But this one, we've managed to put up with each other for almost 30 yrs, so I think I'll keep him. He seems inclined to keep me. :D

Hahaha...I'm just a southern boy loving life where it's always nice and warm, and I do like watching the beautiful bikini clad women at the beach because of all this gorgeous weather ...heck, it gets so warm here we have a nude beach (swimsuit optional) locally.. Very popular with the spring breakers, lolol, and with real southern men, like me!
