The black glass should look really good on that.
Not really very dark black, more tinted but that's OK, need to see my juice, right ha.

Put some flaptons in this, I'm hoping it wont be too hot with the extension on, could work great, could be a fail, dunno yet. If not, it's back to basics, 11 wrap kanthal. We'll see

2.5 ID 6 wrap, 0.25ohm

Screwed the chimney on and they fit fine, no short, pretty big deck considering it's a 22mm tank.

Time to wick this little beast.....

Morning Eskie  Sitting here watching the weather folks try and figure out where Matthew is going. Right now the estimate is some wind plus 4-6 inches of rain. I think I need the ark! :D

Good luck! Are you in an area that floods easily? When big storms strike here, the worries around me are the wind. Lots of old trees that love falling over right where a power line is. Fortunately we don't flood even in heavy downpours.

No leaks or dry hits as of yet. Wicking very well. 50w, really nice flavor but personally I wouldn't put Claptons in this again, glass gets pretty warm.

Id probably go with 24 or 26g, 11 wraps next time, the tank wasn't designed for those kind of coils really but I just did it for fun really.

I'm sure you shouldn't be getting this much cloud for a Goblin Mini, ha.

Restricted lung hit with the anti spit back in, I took it out, 3x more airflow that way, perfect for me.

First impressions are good, really good, much much better than the V2 for sure. Quality is average, nothing bad but not excellent either but it's good value for money.

I have a feeling that a flapton / clapton with the single deck in will be really good ! Bring it up to about 0.5ohm, I know that would be a better vape.

Ow, close off the airflow completely and it's a great mouth to lung, just like a Nautilus Mini, of course this is the dual deck, so again the single would be better.

For the way I vape, the extension tube is a must for me.

Going to vape this tank and then swap to the single deck. This tank belongs on a Q Class ! Still no leaking or dry hits, bubbles coming up nicely, at the moment I can't fault this tank at all. Juice control works well, deck is nice, no spit back, looks nice...... absolutely working A1.

I love it when a tank works first time, more to follow with the single deck soon.

Cons...... thread on the top fill could be a bit better but I'm nit picking here.

Can't really say much more yet, me likes it a lot though.

Goblin Mini V3 - Winner !

Not really. I'm pretty far up a hill so no worries on flooding. Big trees around me though but I don't think the wind will be that bad since I'll be on the eastern side of the storm. :)

I'm thinking I'll hold off on this one for awhile. I have a Merlin and a Serpent Mini on the way. It hit me the other night that I really don't have a mod to sit those 2 tanks on so I'm gonna save some money to buy a mod before I get the Goblin. :)

A 50 watt or so mod should work with either of those tanks. Depends on your build. I vape the full size serpent on around 23 watts. No Merlin though, but it is one of the few I am interested in.

Well..I do have the Clouper Mini, eVic mini and the SX mini.
Luggy maybe?
Yep! That one is in my put away for the future drawer. Along with the mech.

Hmmm....maybe I don't need another mod. Thanks guys for bringing me back to earth!! :)

Sorry :( I'm not thinking straight this morning. My son has a neurologist appointment this morning to go over the results of his MRI and EEG. So what does he do? He's giving me shit about all the stuff he needs to do. He needs to go to his dad's to finish cleaning for his dad's wife so he can get money. Then he needs to go to school. Add insult to injury...he goes to get food. He has $14 and wants to save $10 so he doesn't have enough money to buy me any. Now, I'm spending the day on the road but I have to work tonight. It's my money that's putting gas in the car plus paying the copay AND, I'll have to buy him lunch when we're through. WTF???

Sorry kad! I know you've read this already. :(

Since the Luggy has an internal battery, it should probably get some regular use just so that the battery goes through charge/discharge cycles.

Yep all internal battery mods should be used first as the battery will pretty much die anyway in a couple of years whether you use it or not.
Keep the removable battery ones for after the internal ones die.

Thanks! I'll pull it out when the tanks get here. The Merlin and Serpent will only be used at home. No big clouds when I'm stealth vaping in the bathroom at work. Lol

I know this borders on sacrilege for this thread :) but can we take time out for a technical question? Has anyone (in this thread) disassembled a mod with an internal battery to see if that battery can be replaced? So far, all mine (the iStick family and the Joytech VT are still functional -- one VT died, but it is the board, not the battery) are still functional. I don't want to tear them apart until they die, which is the reason I can't answer my own question.

Does it count if I say I've seen pictures from people who have done that? I think it comes down to form factor as to how you can get a replaceable style battery to fit into something with a built in Lipo that is not built to be replaceable. If you hold up an 18650 to the mod, does it look like there would be room?

I have to apologize here too, I acted like a bit of a moron yesterday, too much stress built up in my personal life and spilled over into the mud.

I must try harder. (and I'd had a drink, something else that needs to stop)

Draco, Eskie is right I'd say but I've never done it myself

That's an excellent point -- I have both the original Coolfire4's, and a couple of the later CF4-TC-75w that take 18650s, and although the shape is the same, the ones that take the 18650s are just a SMIDGE larger -- now I don't know if that's because the TC requires more circuitry which needs a bigger form factor, or just that a standard 18650 won't actually fit into the same size case as the original CF4s.

If you are handy and can solder you can do it providing you can find the correct Lipo for it. It does not use a standard cell like 18650.

Looks like a standard 18650 to me ?

That's more than I have seen, so yes, it counts. ;) All the mods I have (except the iStick 30W) "appear" to have room for an 18650 when viewed from the outside. I suspect the wiring is soldered to the battery terminals, which is not a problem for me, but I just didn't want to disassemble any of them until such time as it became necessary. Of course, I won't know if the 18650 will fit until the inside is sufficiently exposed to see what space is actually available. Of course, if worst case happens, I can build a mod case (ala The Boden) and simply transfer the board and stuff into a larger housing, but I guess I am getting too lazy in my old age...

The wires are generally spot welded onto standard cells and lipos have leads connected internally.
But yes you can generally solder to standard cells.

Already been answered, but yes, and some mods actually already have standard 18650s in them instead of Lipos.

I've disassembled and repaired several. The one best suited for replacement and upgrading is the Coolfire4 series with internal batteries. Replacing the 18650 in those is a 10-15 minute job, and they benefit from higher capacity cells, like a HG2.

I noticed that you believe the board is dead in your VT. How can you be certain without taking it apart? Most mods with internal batteries, have several SMT fuses, and if any one of them fail, the mod will appear dead. They are fairly simple to replace.

Be sure to let "Honey" know to spot/tack solder the battery. Too much heat (e.g., holding the soldering iron against the battery too long) can ruin the battery.

Ok, good tip, though I'm fairly certain he knows more about soldering than I've ever considered -- he just doesn't currently have a full soldering kit.

Hell, I learned soldering myself, but it was in 1980, old-style flux soldering... yucky shit. Pretty sure that's now obsolete, and I promptly forgot it, probably about 1981. :D
