Some crazy good sales going on on that site right now, huh? I decided to get a Lavabox DNA75 for $39 instead, since I have a couple Slice SEs on the way, but did pick up a couple of those $2.50 Crius Pluses. :vapemail:

Are there special codes involved as it looks like it is $57 for Slice and $5 for Crius Plus.

I'm still new to the site, and not sure how their discounts work exactly (though they work in our favor, so I'm happy!).

They sent out an email stating 25% off their clearance products with this code: WINTER25. But when you add an item to your cart, it seems to apply the discount automatically, with no code needed. This was with me signed into my account, not sure if that plays a role. And also, instead of 25% off, most of the stuff was discounted 50%! They have discounts in other categories too, like 10% and 15% for categories like batteries and accessories. It kind of seemed like these discounts stacked, which gave a 50% off discount for the clearance products. Anyways, all I know is I saved a ton of money on this order. lol

I give up

For Kanthal go into xXx mode, it is already set up at 3.2% FSK which is a good starting point. Set your temp to 450F and your watts to about 50 if your ohms are 0.50 or below, less if it is higher. Don't use any of the auto modes.

More info in the link in my sig for the FSK first time users guide.

There seems to be mixed reviews and experiences with the hohm slice. Are the more recent ones performing better or are there still issues with the battery cover and stuff? I realize it's a bit cheaper on sale but still, damn. Those things are basic whether a mod is $30 or $130. I've been considering picking up another mod, currently using an istick tc100w and aside from the shitty paint it's been working pretty well.

@SirRichardRear, I saw a few pages back you've got both the hohm slice and the smok alien which happens to be the other mod I've had my eye on. Thoughts on it compared to the hohm slice? Good, bad, same?

Not trying to be negative or too skeptical but seems like pulling teeth to get vape gear that works right. I mean aside from the chip and whatever magic goes on inside of it, it's like come on man. It's a fuckin battery, an on off button. A battery cover. Half this shit was perfected on walkman's in the 80's, what's the glitch lmao. Like welcome to 2016, uhhh, derp, can't figure out how to make a button that doesn't get stuck or keep shit from rattling. Or rta's that get everyone excited until screws strip out or it pisses juice all over the place. :p

I can't speak for others I can only comment on my own experiences. I own multiple Slices and G2's like a lot of people here. I had 2 of the first Slices from their pre order. My red one had a sticky firing button but my black one was perfect. Both Slices had a rattle to the door but strangely enough after a few days the doors settled in and do not rattle anymore. The paint on my Black one is shit but the paint on the red one seems to be holding up fine. These issues are supposed to be fixed with the newer Slices. The G2 is just built like a brick shit house. I have never had a problem with any of my G2's. Solid, big, fat, ugly mod that just fucking works. I will say this the G2 is a lot more comfortable and lighter to hold than it's looks would have you believe. For a lot of people it comes down to form factor. Just don't expect the Slice to have the same build quality as the G2. If you do you will be sorely disappointed. Not saying the Slice is a bad mod because it's not. In fact its the mod I use the most everyday but build quality wise it's nowhere near the G2.

I agree, G2 is an absolute tank! The slice is not at all but it still feels very solid. It is also a lot more comfortable in the hand. I just got my first slice from vaporworld sale for $30. Super happy about that. All my gear showed up the day before Christmas which was even better. I busted it right out to check it out and I knew going into it that it isn't a G2 but I was far from disappointed! I got the Dodger Blue LE and will be throwing my gold Petri RTA on top of it. I can't wait!

The slice is a much better mod unless u need over 101 watts. Then the get the alien.

My son has an Alien, it's a bit wonky with the dripper he uses for some reason. I have no Slice to compare it against.

Personally I would get a IPV6 (over an Alien) if you could find one of the current revisions. I got an original with broken TCR and still like it more than the Alien.

I had this combo right here get knocked off a 3 foot high kitchen table on Christmas eve.

I didn't see it happen but sure heard it, thought for sure something must be broken. 2 magnets in the battery door did come off, had to glue them back in. There is a little road rash on the mod but not very noticeable. I was actually pleased at how well both the Slice and Uwell D1 tank took the fall.

For $30 the Slice is an absolute steal IMO, you can't touch the performance near that price.

Lol.

Do you think the zinc alloy under the paint can be polished? It looks grey or is that a primer under there? My Black Slice is showing some wear on the paint, thinking either wrap or remove all the paint and polish.
That's bare metal under that paint. No primer at all. As most of you know I'm a bartender so that mod gets knocked around a lot. Plus it's not exactly in a dry environment, no pun intended. Like I've said before I've thought of stripping it down or putting a wrap on it but I kind of like the character of it. Reminds me of an old MC jacket that's been on the road and has some miles on it. When I showed it to @CashNVape he named it The Garden Tool. Lmfao.

I don't feel so bad then about my cheapy istick. I had to look twice because it looks just like mine, used to be black but now some sort of dystopian urban camo lmao. There must be a wicked good deal on shitty paint these days. All I know is as a kid I had bikes under $100 with far more surface area and the paint didn't come off like it does on these mods even after multiple spills on mountain trails.

Lol that's true. These mod manufacturers should use BMX paint. I had a Chrome Mongoose in the 80's and that thing took a beating. Lmao.

$10 vapor skinz wrap came today. Not as exact as a jwraps but it's also 1/2 the price and I couldn't bring myself to spend $20 on a wrap for a $40 mod lol

Yup what he ^ said, signed into your account, code winter25 on clearance items = 50% off in checkout. Go figure

I couldn't get this work today, at least where the extra 25% on top of "winter25" would actually register in the cart.

Then on whim i typed in "winter50" and that code worked for the 50% off too. Just a FYI for anybody still checking it out.

The lesson in all that imo is to never buy the first batch of anything, since pretty much every single mod maker out there atm is in the business of cutting whatever cost corner they can when pushing out a first run product. Quality consideration like that mostly died with the Provari era.

I bought my black LE Slice after they had already stared addressing the ridiculous state some of those first ones went out in. New buttons are perfectly fine. The door still has a tiny bit of play, but it's something you really have to go out of your way checking to even notice. Picking the mod up and down while vaping it is a complete non-factor. That said it is the "cheapy" weak point to an otherwise solid build design, kinda in the same manner as that flimsy bottom click door on the Sigelei Fuchai 213 if you ever had/used one of those.

My paint has held up pretty well too, and I'm guessing my mods take more of an overall beating then a few others posters showing theirs. 6 months or so in and it's not looking any worse then anything else i ever had. Light scratches here and there and nothing that noticeable beyond the rubbing coming off the very bottom of edges of the mod.

I find myself bitching more about my hate of 26650 batteries with it then anything else. Although having quicker access to the bread-and-butter FSK adjustment, instead of having to navigate into the menu every time (which involves simultaneously clicking 2 buttons that are located on one single bar slab, so sometimes it takes me more then one try) would of been a nice extra touch that should of gotten more consideration in the overall sell presentation.

Have you tried the Ijoy 26650's yet? People seem to love them. When my existing 26650's go they're next on my list. According to Mooch they vape like an 18650.

I haven't, but it's overall battery life I'm most concerned with and it doesn't seem like they are much different in that regard.

The best way i can put it I guess is that for somebody who has "advanced" (for lack of a better word) past the point where a one 18650 battery mod still works for me, the jump up to a 26650 isn't really solving that problem. I still find myself needing the two 3000mah setup more often then not.

Yeah, if i had been more certain that the Crius was going to be a good tank I'd of probably bought more then the 4 i did at $2.50/pop. Could of passed them out to a bunch of co-workers I bug every day to give rebuilding a legitimate try.

It's 50% more then a single 18650 but 25% less then a dual 18650

That sucks and could get tricky if you're driving or something. Any hope to resolve the issue?
