The weirdest thing happened to my left thumb, last night; I noticed it while doing dishes, suddenly it became very painful to hold anything fairly heavy in my left hand:
I'm not sure if some damn spider bit me, right there on the inside edge of the top knuckle of my thumb, or it's some arthritis thing in the joint. It doesn't itch and I don't see any holes, so I'm leaning towards arthritis. Seen crap like this before, with the thumb knuckle at the base by the wrist, with my right one.

The only saving grace is that it's my left thumb; when the one at the base of my right thumb was inflamed, OMG that was pure hell; I couldn't pick up ANYTHING without screaming agony! This one is mainly a pain because I tend to vape left-handed while at the computer, and I've always been a thumb-btn-presser. I'm trying to make myself use the pad just at the base of the thumbprint, rather than the tip as I normally do, so it uses the base-knuckle for force rather than that first knuckle. But I know very damn well that an arthritis thing means "just shut up and deal with it until it settles down again." Taking ibuprofen, not so much for pain, it's not THAT bad, but to help the inflammation. *sigh*
Oh, and my vapemail just arrived! One thing is a skin for my purple CF4, since it has signs of wear, but given my crip-ness with my thumb, gonna let my husband do it for me when he gets home. But the colors are GORGEOUS! It's the "purple heart" skin from mightyskins.com.

Woke up around 9:30-10 and everything was good, no pain in arm at all. Raised my hand to scratch my head and instant agony. Been a dull ache ever since in the shoulder joint.
Waiting to hear from the medical peeps now and then hopefully headed to the house. Got all my shit packed, just have to load the car and head over to the base to lock my stuff up. Gotta find out how workmans comp works too. Crap, I hate this shit.

I'm here, just got finished with breakfast. Thinking of getting to rebuilding those magmas, but think I'll sit here and vape for a while, post-prandial vape and all. Still got a few plastic bottles soaking, from the great vape mess clean-up, gotta get those sorted too. No updates on the status of my huge shipment from e-aromashop, but I've gotten pkgs from them in as little as 8 days, and it's been 6 already, so I figure another week at most; 13 days is the longest it's ever taken to get stuff from them.

top of the nooning, folks - way too damn much adulting on my plate... and i kind of got side tracked a bit last night making wick threaders - got some in a package with the supima gold cotton i had ordered and they definitely make wicking a little simpler... got to looking at em and said... "shit - that is just wire and bead crimps... *I* got wire and bead crimps... and beads... hold on a fuggin minute..."

Can't like that, Doc. If it is any consolation, you might not be too badly injured. For a reference, when I pulled the starter on a hotsie, blinding flash of pain in my shoulder. Like an idiot, I ignored it, and pulled hard AGAIN. I couldn't lift my hand above my belt for a couple months. If you can make it to your head, I am hopeful you may not be beyond self healing.
TRY to avoid surgery, they usually just fug that all up. The sling idea someone suggested, is a good one. You have to stop irritating it, wait for the pain to lessen, and then gentle freaking therapy for a long time.
You'se a CRAFTY sumbitch.. Those look hawt enuf to snuggle..

If it really hurt, I might do that, but the only real complaint I have with it is that it weakens my grip; too much force on that joint DOES hurt, but otherwise, not too bad, so I'm counting my blessings -- that one on the right thumb hurt even when I wasn't doing anything with it, so I know how lucky I am with this one. Not really sure what I may have done to cause that joint such a connimption; at dinner last night it was fine; watched TV for 2 hrs and then did the dishes, and that's when I noticed it, holding a stoneware plate to swab it with dish soap. Weird.

like a needle threader - essentially pinched wire loop... put through coil, put wick tip through loop on far side, pull wick through coil... very handy for verticals especially
