Evolv to release DNA75 w Board?

OK, so what is the consensus? Is it the VT 75, the Dx 75 or the VT 133? I already have a Dotbox on pre-order as well as a Hohm Slice. I tend to use SS wire in TC, mostly RTAs.

I can't decide between the VT75 and the DX75. I really liked the smaller form factor of the DX75 and talked myself out of the VT75 during the Memorial Day sale. I still wonder if I made a mistake.

After seeing the video below, I'm worried about the occasional shocks from handling the bottoms of both devices. Maybe a silicone sleeve is good enough to avoid them but if hate to cover them up. Maybe I should just wait for more reviews to come in. Or maybe wait for another DNA75 device to hit the market.

I'm still very indecisive.

(But I've pulled the trigger on the VT133 and love it. Being a two battery device, I think it fills a niche the DNA75 devices wouldn't handling higher wattages for a longer time. I really want to get another one. But there's still a place for a DNA75 device.)

I still personally like the VT75 for its looks alone the software and build quality is pretty much the same, BTW I have never been shocked but then again I read the manual

Skipped the VT75 & DX75. Waiting for SMY SDNA75 from FT if they ever get around to shipping it that is. With 26650s being what they are a good LG HE4 will be my main driver. Still don't like that stupid pistol grip horn, but the smallest package made sense to me.

Got my 4 boards, but waiting on a few pieces to to arrive before I can start the soldering. The Top screen DNA75-VTR will be my first project.

I skipped the VT75 and DX75 for basically the same reason. The SMY I'm also laying off because of the horn and SMY hasn't really been known to make great mods (just my opinion). The one that has caught my attention is as yet to be released Lavabox DNA75. I'm using my Blood Red Lavabox (DNA200) with the Merlin on it I just received today. They really are nice mods, feel great in hand as well. If they come out with a Blood Red DNA75, the temptation may be too much. :D

Cheers,
Steve

You don't like SMY from a wiring/assembly standpoint? Figured if Evolv made the board and the case was halfway decent I couldn't go wrong and the fact that Daniel from DS LSB was involved I'm comfortable enough with it for the price. I don't think he would put his name out there to be associated with it if was not at least a passable quality mod.

Lavabox always looked kind of bigger & more styled than it had to be to me.(just my opinion). I hope you enjoy it!

Yeah with Daniel being involved in it, that is definitely a good thing imo. My Lavabox's aren't really big (they are taller than some, but not as wide and feel great in hand). I will say in pictures they do across as big. I'm not sure I'm going to get a DNA75 yet. I was just saying the one I'm most interested in so far is the Lavabox DNA75. I actually really like the DNA200 chip and have been really enjoying my VT133's (2 x 18650 DNA200). I'm just not sure I want to go back to a single battery mod.

They aren't as big as I imagined from the ad pics and they did do the 75 in a smaller format than the 200. They do style them well. They certainly look tiny compared to that DX200 with the bigger battery.

I am actually a side by side & an all-in-one fanatic and I'm really looking for a DNA75 Nebox with a 10ml Glass Tank and a Velocity deck to be honest, but haven't found the animal yet. I cant get Kanger to answer my email requests for an Evolv Special Edition Collaboration yet. Thought about a DIY 3d print Plato style effort but it did not print to expectations. Artery Summa looks interesting for adaptation though. Will take a closer look when it hits the market in the next weeks.

I have both the vt133 and vt75.. as for the shock on the vt75.. I have never been shocked.. as long as you make sure the screw is tight you will not get the shock.. and you only have to check the screw once with any type of battery.. vt75 is ok i guess.. problem i have with it is it isn't that much smaller then the vt133.. i thought it would be a lot smaller then it is.. heavy too but i do have a 26650 in it. I think my vt133 is slightly lighter. Also i have little strange issues with it. sometimes temp control goes buggy.. sometimes when vaping in temp control it will be vaping great and than i put it down for a while maybe a hour or two and when i pick it back up i get a really weak vape. I will have to unscrew the atty and screw back down and pick new coil to get it to vape properly again.. don't know if it is a issue with the vt75 connections or the dna75 board.. Also i get weak battery when battery is a 3/4ths drained no matter what battery I have in it. Would i buy it again if I lost it..probably not. it just isn't small enough to warrant it over a vt133. I am not sure i like the dna75 at all.. I mean the board itself is the same size as the dna200 so it really limits how small you can go.. also the weak battery issue is annoying.. maybe a firmware will fix that but as of right now I just don't think the dna75 works well with single batteries. for a 75 chip i feel it should have been smaller in size.. not sure they put that much R&D into it.. feels rushed or just a limited version of the dna200.

Yeah I saw a size comparison somewhere and I agree the form factor isn't small enough to justify the purchase as a more portable mod. I'll look for other DNA75s.

Out of curiosity what wattage and temp do you vape at?

I am using ss316l 24g dual coil around a 3mm. vape at 460 degrees at 60 watts.. same build and setup on my vt133 no issues.. I think it is a issue of dual battery verse single batter for the weak battery.. as for the temp control issue. .no idea.. it is a annoying but livable.

Received the silver SMY SDNA75.
Not sure I'm a fan of the way Daniel set it up. Mod itself appears to be quality construction. Need some time to become familiar with it.

Can't go wrong for the price.

Well yesterday my VT75 USB bit the dust and it will not charge or update so I sent a message to evolv to get it repaired and they opened a case for it, I have to ship it to them and they will fix it and send it back. I believe it may have come from a little juice that dripped on the side of the mod while pouring but every mod I have owned has encountered a little juice and didn't completely kill the usb

For some reason, seems the usb port is the weak point of the DNA75, I had to send back my 1st VT75 due to the usb port not working, and seen at least 1 other report of this problem, but had no problems with my 2nd VT75, and at least got evolv to sort things out.

Lucky I have backups because the price of their boards I would hate to have only purchased one device and be screwed for a few weeks without a device

Well that is a downfall of being first to try new products after a release. We often find ourselves to be beta testers as well. I had 2 DNA200 fail that needed replacement during a time that Evolv wasn't even fixing mods. They gave me new boards that I installed.

Evolv gives you the confidence to be first to try since you know they will stand behind it & constantly improve the product line. DNA200s are on the 4th or 5th version of the hardware now.

YEAH BUT IT IS A GOOD KIND OF CRAZY!

DISCOUNT CODES:
KNOXX = 10% code>>rings as 5%
juicy = 5% code>>rings as 5%
INSIDER = 10% code>>rings as 5%
BetterDealVape = 5% code>>rings as 5%
vapesavings = 5% code>>rings as 5%
sopits = 5% code>>rings as 5%
vapingneeds = 5% code>>rings as 5%

LOOKS LIKE THEY ARE LIMITING THE DISCOUNT CODES THAT CAN BE APPLIED TO THAT PRICE TO 5% OFF

I'm stuck between the black or the stainless steel SDNA 75. SS looks great but most of my tanks are black and I don't know if I'd like the look. The rubberized texture of the black case is also appealing.

Dammit maybe I'm just hoping they'll sell out while I make a decision. I've gotten 4 DNA mods in the last 3 weeks.

That is what I am hoping for. As I bought my first DNA back in February to see what the fuss is all about. It's July and I now have 11 DNA mods living in my house. :eek:
I think I got my first DNA mod back in September or October (I'd have to check to be sure) and I only have 11 as well. I need to step it up to keep up with Bill :D :giggle: :cheers:

Cheers,
Steve

I often have the black battery cover on it and the silver battery cover often sits in the box. :D :cheers:
I was really just joking around Bill. I know you don't like the color match of the door to the frame (I have a good memory, now where did I put my keys :D:giggle:).

Cheers,
Steve

Gave in and ordered the sdna 75 in stainless. They just didn't sell them fast enough and I couldn't get it off my mind. This will be my first DNA 75. I only have one other single 18650 mod, the evic vtc mini so I thought why not. Looking forward to it.

I got my silver Merlin that I plan to use as the topper for my silver SMY SDNA75, a couple days ago. It's a nice match. I also got a silver SXK Nebula Wine Tank for the vapepocalypse box, I have a black one but it's been discontinued :( I popped it on the SMY, just for fun before I stash it away and it looks damn good on it also.

You liking the ss finish on the sdna. I was torn on color when I ordered mine. I love black and 80% of my mods and tanks are black. But for some reason the ss was calling me...lol plus the black looked to plain. I'm just wondering if I made the right choice.

I like the ss finish, most of my mods are black as well. I wanted a small pocketable mod that would be durable and wouldn't worry about paint chipping. It's not fancy, but it's clean and simple and, I think, looks pretty nice. I've been pleased, haven't regretted one bit getting the ss version over the others.

Yeah I wanted to switch it up and this mod is going to be my going out/work mod. It's gonna take turns with the vtc mini. So I needed a durable finish. My vtc mini is black and has chips, dings, and scratches everywhere. Thanks for the input.

Buying this

Sent from my SM-G928V using Tapatalk

I got to see/use the normal VT75 firsthand today, and really fell in love with the look of it. That red is one of the sharper looking mods ever imo, and the first time i've ever thought about buying something other then black lol.

That they are making a smaller one will probably be too hard for even my super conservative spending ass to resist.
