Awww. I'm tired of dealing with whiney employees. Kittens hot the spot.

Dupree (The VaporCat) is a hunter... squirrels, rabbits, birds, moles, you name it. He's clever enough to use tarps and other cover as a blind. When an unsuspecting squirrel comes by, he shoots out from under it and attacks. He showed up as a stray and is my constant companion.

Yup, sounds just like our miniature black leopard. :D Though she hasn't gotten a squirrel yet -- she keeps trying! :giggle: She's gotten several chipmunks, quite a few mice, and once, an actual RAT! (YAY Tuxie!), along with a lot of snakes, lizards, and frogs. And quite a few birds, unfortunately, including one very unfortunate cardinal -- hence my remark about green feathers; that garage appeared upholstered in red feathers! After that was when I started keeping her in till 10-11am, because I cherish the cardinals in our backyard, they're such fun to watch in the winter when there is no color anywhere except a couple of red males and their reddish-brown harem. :giggle: I wouldn't care how many bluejays she got, but the cardinals manage to keep those noisy bastards outta here. :)

While kittens and bunnies of similar color are cute, none of the above are my cats. My cats would have already eaten the rabbits...

With mine, it would depend on the size of the rabbit -- the bigass bunnies we have around here would probably just make Tuxie run hide under the bed. :giggle: But baby bunnies... yeah, she'd have those for a snack. :D

Yeah she'd love that. :D I noticed that there weren't a lot of cicadas this summer; normally there's a zillion of the stupid things, and Tuxie LOVES them -- they're her favorite "buzzy toys." :giggle: I think the horrible late summer drought we've had must have starved them or something.

OMG those give me the creepy crawlies....LOL

Me too! But for cat toys? Whatever floats her boat I guess. :giggle: She loves the sound they make, and how they'll try to get away, but not very energetically, so she can pounce on them again and again. :giggle:

We found the coolest thing just laying on the floor at the dollar store -- it must have been part of some kind of toy that came apart; it's a small plastic ball with a motion-activated flashing red/blue light inside it -- my husband picked it up, thinking the cat would like it. At first it terrified her -- naturally! -- but now she loves it! It's small enough for her to get her mouth on it, but not so small that it risks choking her, and it makes a cool sound as it rolls/flies across the floor, plus the blue/red strobe inside it -- similar to the old kind of cop car lights -- man she gets wild with that thing! :giggle:

Awwww. I just love kittehs in hats. :D Still gotta get one for Tuxie! :giggle: But then I'd have to change my little rhyme:

"Tuxie-wuxie is a cat;
Tuxie-wuxie has no hat;
but Tuxie-wuxie's big and fat!"

Based, of course, on "fuzzy wuzzy was a bear," which I've always loved. :giggle:

I didn't forget, but I always think of my husband with that rhyme "Fuzzy wuzzy was a bear, fuzzy wuzzy had no hair, fuzzy wuzzy wasn't Shelby, was 'e..." :giggle: Because my husband is like the HAIR MONSTER!!!

Yeah, I can equate... the only places I don't have hair is the palms of my hands and the soles of my feet. Perhaps why I got the nickname "Fuzzy." :D

Well, I've never minded a hairy man -- my ex was far hairier, a very ethnic semitic Jew -- I never knew men could have hair on their buttcheeks, till I knew him! :giggle:
