What's the last Movie you saw?

I agree a lot of his movies are just stupid, but I found a few I can watch, this movie though wasn't stupid, just plain boring

I often feel that way about some of the stuff that Seth McFarlane does too, but at least, even his most-stupid work is still funny. Will Ferrell is NOT funny, but, like Frank Zappa, is entirely self-amused, and that kills any humor that either of them might aspire to.

We found McFarlane's "Million Ways to Die in the West" in a Walmart bargain bin for $5, so we got it. It's kinda dumb... but does provide some giggles, which is pretty much how I respond to Family Guy, and the 2nd "Ted" movie -- the first Ted was BRILLIANT!

Watched the Cloverfield Paradox and The Replicants last night. Both 2 SciFi extremely out there flicks but I enjoyed them both~!

Well, actually, he's dead. And I really don't care much for his music myself, but I can tolerate most kinds of actual music (rap/hip-hop doesn't qualify, since it's not music, just rhythmic noise); what I can't tolerate are people striving as hard as they can, disingenuously, to be "funny," but succeeding only in amusing themselves. There are some of his songs I do quite like (I'm the Slime, Dirty Love, and a couple others that I can't think of the names of), but for the most part, when my husband starts exercising his Zappa collection, I close my door and turn up my own music to a volume that drowns out Zappa; I also do that for MOST of his "classic country" collection, with a couple of exceptions -- Willie Nelson is always a winner, he could sing the yellow pages and i'd listen quite happily -- Hank Williams Jr, too, and Alan Jackson -- but most country music that came out before about 1995, I really can't stand.

I'm really just a Classic Rock kinda girl... but I also really like most of the 90s "grunge" bands.

I've wanted to watch a good movie for days now, and just can't find the right thing.

Started up "Lincoln" last night so I could watch it on my tablet, with earbuds so I could actually hear all the dialog, but after about five minutes I said, nah, that ain't it. Not what I want. Don't know what is.

Tried to watch Beyonce's concert on Netflix, nah, that ain't it either.

Tried to watch a show about Ted Bundy, double nah, that for sure ain't it.

Probably should have gone for Rickey Gervais stand-up. Now HE is funny. He's so damn mean, he just cracks me up. I love YT videos of his Grammy monologues.

Last week I did watch a Netflix show about John Lennon. That was disturbing. What a piece of work he was. Had forgotten about all the WAILING Yoko did back in the day. We heard that back then and went, What? WTH is THAT? Some kinda primal therapy thing?

Not as good as the first but Robin Williams is a tough role to fill.

Totally agree about Gervais, he IS funny! And yeah, Lennon was an odd duck for sure. I miss George Harrison. Three of the Wilburys dead now, the only ones left are Jeff Lynne and Bob Dylan. I thought the Wilbury stuff was the best work George ever did.

Losing Orbison was a real blow, no way around that, and same for losing Harrison... but losing Petty felt like losing part of myself; he's been one of my ABSOLUTE FAVES since 1981. Just damn hard to wrap my mind around losing him. Orbison was the oldest of the Wilbury's, but Dylan is the next oldest -- he's 78 now and apparently still going strong.

I totally agree! I've been a HUGE fan of ELO since I was about 14 or 15, so... 75 or 76. In 76 or 77, a friend and I went to see ELO in concert, at the old Omni in Atlanta; we sat behind the stage, which turned out to be the best seats in the house -- the huge scoreboard thing that hung down from the ceiling blocked the laser show from everyone else, only those behind the stage could see it! And ELO was a totally "in the round" experience -- you haven't lived till you watch guys walking around with their cellos up in the air over their heads, playing them while walking in circles around the stage!

when Hopkins came on, there was hope, and he was good. Ben Kingsley was bizzzar, and good.

If Elton made sure the movie was factual, then we've been told quite a few lies since his career started.

Um, one particular scene, yeah. I could have done without that myself, but I don't care for the same scenes with heterosexuals either, does nothing for the film. Save it for porn.

It's nothing like Bohemian Rhapsody but also isn't intended to be. BR is, IMO, one of the best "semi-" documentaries made lately, I've lost count of how many times I've watched it. Rocketman is a totally different style, a little harder to follow than I prefer. Taron Egerton did a fantastic job with the part though.

I thought I was pretty Elton savvy after all these years, owning books, documentary videos, his entire catalog on vinyl and CD, DVDs, you name it. Remember nearly 40 years ago when he came out as BI-sexual? (He really didn't have anyone fooled, but that was a time when fully "coming out" could cost one their career.) And I finally got to see him in concert when I was 33, even with nosebleed seats it was a religious experience. Lol! I probably will see it, but I nearly throw a gasket when I read a historical novel that isn't historical at all, so I can't imagine I'd feel any different about a movie, on the subject of someone that I also have read about in GREAT depth -- screw the homework, I had to re-read all the liner notes and whatnot!

I do remember that interview in Rolling Stone; I had that issue, just so I could read all about it! I was just 16 or so at the time, so I thought it was deliciously sinful or something. I saw him when I was 15, at the Omni; when he was doing his multiple encores, the dad of the 2 girls I went with, went to get the car and bring it out to the street so we didn't have to walk 18 miles, after midnight -- probably could have used the long walk to burn off some of the excitement of a 13 yr old and 2 15 yr olds, but their mom stayed with us, so she didn't want to do all that walking! But anyway, their dad said the entire building was shaking; he was worried it was gonna come down on him before he could get the car out! That was to the final encore, Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting (it was Saturday night, coincidentally), and I can believe it about the whole bldg shaking -- it was WILD in there, house lights up, standing on our chairs (first row, floor seats, far right in front of the WALL of loudspeakers -- I couldn't hear for 3 days) -- gotta miss 1976; those 1st row floor seats cost $7.50 each.

Stuff It was a movie about a lesbian couple. The story was geared more to the fact of them being a couple. Bit of a "slice of life" kind of tale. To me it seemed to drag and be mundane.

Saw "A Star is Born" at my son's yesterday. Well, yeah, I SAW it. I didn't hear a whole lot of it except music, since there were two hyperactive rugrats in the room who just could not be quiet despite threats and warnings.

If those two weren't shagging during the filming of that whole picture, then they should have won more Oscars. Damndest acting I ever saw. I also think Bradley Cooper had to have been trashed a good bit of the time. Bless his heart, it was pitiful.

Wicked ending, upsetting as hell, made me cry. That doesn't happen often.

I'll definitely watch it again, as soon as humanly possible, on my tablet with earbuds so I can get all the dialog.

Backtrace - A Sly Stallone film about a bank robbery and a robber who forgot it all. Stallone plays a rather low key detective in it.
