Okay, I'll give it an honest try. If I can't make it today, I will sometime in the near future - before vapapalooza.

I am thinking thick rich.. ubber rich..

some cream
tiny! bit of caramel

im thinking..
cream
some white chocolate (tpa)

some brandy

a bit of fruit.. like the Forrest fruits.. (FA)

and a bit of hickory

Friday night Mashup

1% Sweet cream TFA
.5% Caramel Original TFA
6% White Chocolate TFA
2% Orange Brandy
1.5% Forrest Fruits (FA)
.25% Hickory Smoke (TFA)
.5% Peppermint

hmm.. not too bad.. :D

Hey Smoky...

Your concept and attention to detail is most impressive. The resulting recipe seems to be a keeper.

That leads me to ask a favor from you. If I sent you a retail juice, could you tell me what to do to replicate it? This is my youngest daughters absolute favorite - and I just do not have the talents you seem to have. I would like to clone it and make her some for her birthday...

Rowdy..

Check this out.. I search for clone recipes.. can I clone.. probably 99%..
most anyone who has been playing with flavors can pick out at least a couple from a juice..
thing is.. it's never going to be "exact".. its a replica, impression, or an assumption..
sometimes, one can actually come up with an even better recipe.. based on that "best" juice..

Sure, you can come close.. but it will never be an original.. and even if you can come close..
it is always better to help support juice makers, as this is what gives us the ideas..
without juice makers having the funds to come up with all the "best" juices.. where would we be?

besides.. the closest I will be able to come up with.. is what "i" taste in a juice..
this is why i say.. go with what "you" or other person tastes.. both in inhale and mid and exhale..

I hope this makes some sense.. yes I post up clones.. but it is just that.. clones I have either made, or found..;)

Kinda sounds like a "no". But, I still love ya!!

I also agree with your justification. To you, it could taste spot-on, but still not be there for me...

I have enough flavorings (partly thanks to you) around here to make just about any flavor except maybe cooked cabbage...

Thanks anyway!!

If, in your travels you come across a "Killa Vanilla" clone, remember me.

lmao okies.. I will..

hmm

killa vanilla..

grab all your creams.. figure out a "dominant" one..
sounds to me like a cup cake or cake batter should be there for texture and body..
but dont go for too much bread ..
you will need a sweet.. so pick one..
then some creams..
pop in some kind of mint.. around .5%

that should get you close..;)

Finally got out of bed. Already 11:30 here. I'm one lazy girl today (everyday).

I'm feeling like I need to pick up every lime available. Any suggestions?

Put the lime in the coconut and shake it all around. Good morning RP. I suggest to you inawera lime. Tastes more on the candy side like a lime suckered from the bank. But oh so very delicious. And I mixed up your recipe this morning and did some tweaks and it came out fabulous. I don't want to through key lime out the window anymore!! Yay

in the creams

see.. you and her both know what you like about that juice..
taste the vanilla.. feel the texture.. see how it is when you inhale and exhale..

write it all down.. pair it up..

best advice i can give you, Rowdy..

look at it as a growing mixer's job to figure out the puzzle you have..:D

Inawera lime is good. Strong (to me). I wanted to make a rainbow sherbet last night and this morning it tastes like lime sherbet. Maybe it needs time to mellow or meld with the other fruits.
.3% INW Shisha Orange
2% INW Raspberry
1% INW Lime
.5% FA Fresh Cream
1.5% FA Vienna Cream
Next time I might leave out the orange. Dunno, I'll give it a few days.

RP Sr., I can't remember if it was Illa Vanilla or Killa Vanilla, but one has butterscotch in it. And that probably helps you out not at all.

Being a simple minded redneck wanting to make a vanilla juice, I started with vanilla. Imagine that!

I own 20+ different vanilla flavorings, not counting the kitchen extracts...

I think y'all have me going in a better direction now.

Thanks!!

Good deal FP! Do let me know. I'm trying to clone TPR Angel Sauce for #1 and he hates everything I make so I don't know why I bother. He did say 'Mmmm. Tastes like lime sherbet.' so just maybe....

How do you think the recipe would be with TFA Vanilla Ice Cream, to add that cooling effect?

you could add:

koolada.. (good for a couple days, does have a "fade off"
mint.. (good for a oh wow effect used no more than .5%)
menthol.. (good for light cool to a heavy freeze your mouth and nose)

I don't know. I can't tolerate many TFA flavors. Maybe what Blue said but I don't use any of those either. I might just say screw it and go buy some rainbow sherbet. :)
Does anyone know what I did with the dog brushes? It looks like someone plucked a chicken inside the house.

Long time lurker poppin' in on a dark night huh? Haha. About to throw tfa key lime out the window. Trying for key lime pie that's creamy and sweet and no matter what percentage I used it was very present and very tart...:(

Btw flowerpots I appreciate you documenting your findings in the "other place" they have been very helpful
Having not tried or even smelled it I don't think (I'm not sure as one shop I work at has more than the other), and based on your description of it. I would look toward more dry/sweet flavors to offset that bright, tart lime.

I'm used to mixing at 20% flavor, so you may need to adjust up or down accordingly. We only have 15ml/30ml bottles at the shops so I mostly mix 20% in either of those sizes.

For a 15ml of keylime pie I'd do something like this:
TFA Key Lime - 0.5ml (if its as strong as you say)
FW Pie crust - 0.25ml (this can be overpowering too)
FW whipped cream - 0.75ml
TFA Sweet Cream - 0.75ml
FW Brown sugar - 0.25ml

This is based off a recipe I'm working on for one of the shops, exept an entirely different type of pie.
You may be able to substitute other brands for the fw, that's just what I have access to.

It may take time for the whipped cream/brown sugar to do its thing and mellow the flavor of the lime.

Adding anything with cinnamon in it, even bakery cinnamon in long run will probably enhance the citrus, in the key lime, so I'd personally avoid things like cinnamon roll for trying to tone down the lime.

Thanks Pots! I knew you would know! I'll check them out! I only know she allergic because I had to hit her with epi after she had a vape off someone else's mod (Thank goodness it wasn't mine!). The next day, after she got out of the hospital, I got to looking into what sent her into anaphylaxis. Yep, the flavorings had vanilla!
mail the companies - TFA is very good about letting customers know about ingredients/components for allergy purposes.

Ya I went through 4 trials before I made rockets version and in one I added a ton of Graham which I was sorry for later when the lime punched me in the face. Haha. I've never played with pie crust before but I do love fa cookie so I was surprised I hadn't tried it before. Still trial and error on which flavorings I like and how well they work. Like how I discovered I love root beer floats but do not like how they translate when vaping

So, I got NF Gooseberry this week and I'm excited to work with it, not sure why except that it's a unique flavor, and to be honest, it doesn't take much to get me excited about mixing.

I'm going to make a 10ml test batch of this and play away....

Since I'm limited in my DIY knowledge to what the two shops around me have flavor wise - can someone help with links for where to get FA, inawera, and what NF means?

I'm only familiar with Capella, TFA, Flavor West at work.

I made a 5ml tester of this. But, I didn't have the same flavorings, so I used:

2% INW Raspberry
1% TFA Key Lime
0.5% TFA Sweet Cream
1% TFA Vanilla Ice Cream

I know it needs an orange flavor or another flavor to be rainbow sherbert. The only orange I have is TFA Orange Cream, which isn't very orange-y. I'm going to let this mix sit a few days, then test. I may add the orange cream at that point.

I would go to Ecigexpress, they carry most flavor lines:

http://www.ecigexpress.com/

NF is Nature's Flavors. NF has their regular line and their Organics line.
