Jwraps. I opted for the dual carbon fiber option. They sent me two complete wraps basically. Good deal!

I was ready to give up on my tfv4 single coil deck till I finally found that vertical build that works for me.. horizontal builds in that deck just don't work and airflow is shit and wicking Is a bitch.

So an attempt to tighten the ground screw and try a firmware update is my potential fix.

The screen still does read, although "check Battery" is all you get. Is that why you think the chip is still okay?
His attempt to contact Wismec has gone unanswered.

The chip may be junk, I just don't see how mismatched batteries could cause it. As long as their combined voltage falls within the chips voltage input requirements, I don't think it should cause problems. If it was mine I would disassemble and inspect everything. Could just be a bad connection.

There is always something about voiding a warrantee that gets my juices flowing.
Just seeing "No user servicable parts" on a sticker, and my hand starts grasping an imaginary screwdriver.....

That's fuckin funny man....hahahaaa...Exactly how I feel when adding high performance parts to my bike while it's still under warrantee...The manual says it will void the warrantee but I want bigger, bette,r stronger, faster...screw the dam warrantee...

Yep just remove those 4 little screws and pop on a new face they even include the screwdriver you need to do that...Yeah yeah I know it's actually for the RBA.
It does work though and quite well.

Just like that. And like this. Mvp2 and a hana clone both with proper replacement connectors. (It doesn't hang over on the mvp, just looks that way in the pic.) I've modified, tweaked, tuned or repaired in some way every Chinese piece I have. The price of being a cheap ass I guess.

One of my DNA's did this, it was one of those damned rings on the positive contacts. I removed the little white discs from the batteries and no problem since. Just have to be extra careful putting in and taking out the batteries to not damage the wraps. I know I will probably hear how the insulator plastic "washers" are on the batteries for a reason, but I haven't had any issues in well over a month and a half. When it is time to rewrap them I will be putting them back on the batteries after I make the center hole ever so slightly bigger as to not interfere with the rings on the positive contacts of the battery sled. Rewrapping batteries is cheap and easy, order them from Ftech. Different colors makes identifying sets much easier too.

The main reason I went this direction is, I figured rewrapping the battery to put the insulator was a cheap trouble shooting measure to see if it was a real problem with the mod before trying to make any changes to the battery sled and voiding the warranty. Even if I ruined the batteries, they are way cheaper than the mod. Rather destroy them than not be able to return/replace the mod within an hour of getting it. It works so well with the batteries this way I haven't bothered to attempt making any changes to the sled.

those damned rings on the positive contacts.

The RX does not have the rings. The RX has reverse polarity protection, unlike the DNA version. The battery bays are different on the 2 versions. Thank you though.

Edit: The RX DOES NOThave reverse polarity protection

Yeah, I shouldn't be allowed to read/post until after the morning coffee. For some reason I was thinking that Analias said that their customer bought the DNA version. I know they have different battery sleds as I own both. I apologize for any confusion.

I second that. Instant gratification takes way too long for me. lol
Bare in mind I know nothing about software design, but they already have it on the VTC Mini, so what the shit is taking so long?!

I hate to say it, but here goes. I think Joyetech is trying to sell more Cuboids and Minis so they are holding off upgrading the RX200. They seem to all be basically using the same chip so I can't come up with a better reason. Hope I'm wrong because that's some underhanded shit if it's true.

I can't see how that would work. I would honestly own one of each if I could. All different form factors for different applications... and all owned by the same company to boot. Basically I can't see how the RX200 would cannibalize sales of the Cuboid and VTC Mini. They're all different animals.

I went to Ye Olde Vape Store where I got my RX, and the girl working the counter, who also had an RX told me that hers died. I told her, I'd respect her grief, and when she's ready, I'll take it off her hands...

I was thinking of it from this point of view. Joyetech gets 100% of the profits from it's mods but has to split the profits with Jaybo for the RX200. I'm assuming Wismec is a subsidiary of Joyetech. Heck it was just a guess and maybe it's way off base. I just don't understand why they haven't added TCR yet to the RX200 and that's only reason I could come up with.

I'm assuming the preset TCR sucks at stainless?

Not at all, just the displayed temp can be off. If you don't care if you vape stays the same, but might show different temps to get it, its fine. Tweaking the firmware will surely fix that. Its a great mod. All I vape is stainless, and even though I have another mod that does stainless, this does TC well enough, that I actually use it.

Well, I have to use a slight workaround for SS (stock Crowns) on the Koopor Plus.

There are so many grades of SS that all need different TCRs, plus if you're not building and using stock SS coils there's a chance they have nickel or some other non-resistance material as legs on the coils which further complicates finding a TCR for accurate temp reading.

Its not the same chip. the vtc and rx are two different beasts. And though the cuboid and vtc uses the same chip, they are coded different hence why you can't use the cuboid software on the vtc and vice versa

They're probably working on it right now. So far they have a good streak with updates. It takes time to code and test new firmware. Patience, you must have. Available, update will soon be.

What is the workaround for the Crown SS coils for TC? My Herk Plus and OBS SS coils work great in TC with both the eVic Mini and RX200 but I can't get the Crown .25 and .50 SS coils to work.

was wondering what your workaround was for the kooper? Do you know what I should set it at to work with crown coils? I have it set at .00092 currently. Thanks for your help.

I have mine set at .00050, which is as low as it goes. I also set my coil resistance to be the resistance it says on the package and NOT what the mod is reading (my .25s read .28-.29)

Set your temp and go.

I have an SKX Kennedy 22 clone that fits snug on the first RX200 that I bought but does not screw all the way down on my 2nd RX or my other Mods. Fits snug on an old iStick 30w tho. It's kinda annoying lol.

Any suggestions on a quick, simple fix?

Remove batts, stab the centerpin in the RX 510 up and down a few times with a small screwstick.

Ok! I guess she has worked through her loss, and has decided to allow me help her RX live on, by donating it to the Reuleaux Research Foundation. I assured her it will be treated with dignity, and that I accept a "duty of care".

An autopsy will be performed, and the findings posted here.

Afterwards, it will be placed into a state of suspended animation, in a cryogenic chamber filled with liquid nitrogen, awaiting reserection at a later time when technology has reached the point it may be cured, or it will be put into my parts box. Whichever is easiest.

Of course I would.

I am, above all, a gentleman. I'm a little shocked you would even ask.

As far as it being a broken wire,Its doubtfull thats the case though, She told me it didn't pass the smell test. It smells like she let the smoke out, and as we all know, smoke makes electrical things work, and they stop working if you let it out. Like Freon in air conditioners. Or R12. Or U-234 or whatever that stuff is they import from the North Pole to make them function...........
