How very odd, the song was written (according to Wikipedia anyway) in the baião style which is Brazilian, and you indicate that it refers to a figure in Brazilian carnaval processions, yet the word zumbon itself, based on my attempts to translate it, appears to be Spanish rather than Portuguese. Was I wrong in thinking they spoke Portuguese in Brazil? Or did my translator just suck, since it couldn't translate the word until I switched it from Portuguese to Spanish? Granted there are lots of similarities between the two, but this word doesn't seem to be a word that exists in both.

Various Spanish based sources though seem to go along with what you said you think, answers ranging from merrymaker to joker to someone who makes fun of people, so a clown or jester makes sense to me. It just doesn't make sense to me that a Brazilian song about a Brazilian figure would use a Spanish only word in the title. Someone who knows please clear up my ignorance regarding what language is spoken in which Central and South American nations.

When I first posted the song I started to talk about that Brazilian carnaval character and then I redacted. The wikipedia very often has errors in it, and I don't really know. Brazilian carnaval probably does have a similar joker or jester character. Carnaval all over the world has similarities, and that includes Mardi Gras in New Orleans. All over the Caribbean, including Puerto Rico and Cuba, there are kinds of Carnaval or Carnival. It's all the same.

But I don't know the answer to your question. I thought I was rememering liner notes from the CD, but I can't find it in my stacks right now. The whole subject holds a fascination for me. Our Fiesta San Antonio each year includes a "Battle of Flowers" parade, which goes back to the idea of the flowers emerging in springtime and competing for God's attention. I found out just a few days ago that Carnival in Nice, Fr. has a Battle of Flowers Parade too. It's all the same, and very ancient.

Yes, they speak Portuguese in Brazil, except for one region, Rio Grande do Sul, which was once under Spanish rule, and has more in common culturally with Argentina and Uruguay.

More: Cuban carnival has "Three Kings Day" like in New Orleans Mardi Gras, but there were many Cuban immigrants to Louisiana back in the day, which is why Jellyroll Morton once said "all jazz is Latin jazz".

Wanted to start Vaping on a new recipe of Strawberry Sweet Tart. But, I had broken the glass tank of the white Kanger. Found another glass tank, but then couldn't find the O ring for the bottom. Had two different O rings, one was sliced and the other was too skinny. So, put then both on it. At first it wasn't working out, cause I was putting the sliced one on top of the skinny one. Switched them around and YEY It worked.
:teehee: Started to put the E liquid in and noticed nothing was in the tank,,,,, wth,,,,looked and  I was so focused on the O rings I had forgotten to put in the coil in :teehee: . Took it apart, than I was afraid of the O rings not going back as well as they did the second time, but to my surprise, it worked out even better :bliss: . Filled the tank up and vaped away :)
Two good things, the tank held the E liquid and the Strawberry Sweet Tart tastes good 👍 . Though, next time making the SST I'm going to add some Marshmellow to it.

Very good. And soon it will be time to grow some more.

I got some organic broccolini. I never pass that up because I know it won't get wasted, rotting in the fridge while waiting to be trimmed, waiting for me to figure out what to put it in. The regular broccoli pieces are too big. With the bunch of broccolini I know it will be used up, just pinch off the florets, drop them in soup or rice or a sauce or whatever, then snack on the stems while the rest is cooking 😋

French fries & champagne
-The Hot Sardines

I wanted to laugh at this song, and at the very idea of that pairing. Then a quick search led me to this...

Sylvain, the beloved gastropub in the French Quarter, is home to one of New Orleans' most outrageously expensive appetizers, French Fries and Champagne at $50/$90 a serving.

What got me to laugh is the bands name The Hot Sardines. I remember watching a sitcom with dipping French fries into icing. Doesn't sound to appetizing, but hey, who knows may taste delightful, lol.

I like dipping the french fries in the milkshake. It's the sweet & salty thing.

The Hot Sardines were in San Antonio a couple of weeks ago. It was a Sunday night, but I would have gone if I found someone who wanted to go with me. Unfortunately I was unaware of it, so missed it.
