Damn I hate when I'm having a bad memory day ;( I just had to read back 2 pages to get the context of stuff I've said most of the day, and that was after my wife picked up a conversation that we apparently started this morning that I have no recollection of.

I swear one day she is going to come home with a new car and convince me that I bought it for her and just need to sign the papers.

Sigh...

I had 4 seizures so far...minor and full blown croppy floppies.

Exhausted!
Sucks. I've been there and it is amazing how much they wipe you out afterwards. How long do yours last? Mine are atypical and can go for 30-45 minutes and then I'm ready for a good long nap!

I was told 3-6 minutes, mine are the full fledged fish outta water variants. I personally don't know how long my seizures are, completely unconscious majority of the time.

I'm pretty close but just the right half of my body. Last one was in my pain management doctors office after he gave me a cortisone shot in my back. The paramedics apparently didn't appreciate it when the office staff asked them to take me out the back and told them to screw off because they were parked out front and headed to the emergency room since I was still seizing when they arrived.

Did my typical wake up in the emergency room thinking what the hell hit me and then realizing it happened again. Fortunately, I mainly present with migraines now, but sometimes I have them 2 to 3 times per week and a couple of years ago I actually counted the days a month that I didn't have one.

The only way I know I had multiple seizures is from waking up on the floor and memory/time issues plus feeling scared as shit...

Wow.....Anti seizure meds must help it a little?
Don't know about Trip, but they help, but don't eliminate mine. Over the last 4 years I've been on up to 3 at a time and titrating on or off of a new one. Currently I'm down to one, but my alzheimers med also helps with seizures and I use a nasal inhaler for the onset of a migraine which for me is a anecdotally diagnosed as deep brain seizures because seizure meds helps minimize them.

The downside is that they are either hard on your kidney's or hard on your liver. The ones I was taking up until a few years ago were hard on my liver and I ended up going to the emergency room thinking I was having a heart attack but all the tests came back negative. The next likely culprit was gas, but the meds that they give you for that didn't help so they did an ultrasound and my liver was enlarged and was compressing an artery and generating the same symptoms as a heart attack. Fortunately that hasn't happened again, because man was that a scary and painful night.

Called my obgyn to make an appointment and they had to put me on a damned waiting list. I sure hope my cysts don't rupture while I'm still waiting...

Majority of the meds cause me to have seizures and makes me breakout in hives/overheat, I don't take big pharma meds and can't anymore...aspirin will flare me up.

Does something in particular set them off?
Not really for me, but looking at miniblinds isn't something I enjoy and catching repetitive movements or spining objects in my peripheral vision is bad. Flashing lights and picutures are bad too. Sometimes people post animated gifs here that make me feel like crap so I scroll quickly when I see stuff flash.

It's ridiculous I've had to wait two months for an appointment before, are they all out playing golf??
Are you in an HMO? If so, you might want to talk to your hubby about whether you guys can afford to switch to a PPO plan since open enrollments are starting soon.
Medical practices love PPO's because they can actually bill for charges as they are incurred. In HMO's the medical group you bind to get a lump sum for you regardless of how much they treat you or what treatments and procedures you need, including sending you out for specialists.
If you ever hear that your procedure has to be approved by a review board other than your insurance company it means that you are in an HMO type plan even if it isn't called that in your state.

Yea, those types of things I have heard about from a few others that I know.

The computer I built about 7 years ago is a bit long in the tooth. The only things that are NOT getting replaced is the case (Liquid cooled full tower), the power supply, and the ifitisrounditwillreadit drive.
